I personally don't see it as depressing, as much as just a really emotionally powerful and well crafted piece of music. I have extensive background as a classical piano player in my past & have been playing around with electronic music production for a handful of years - a few years ago I was making a song that has a extremely similar chord progression & was playing around with a lot of pitch bending with leads to go along with it. & I had gotten a similar product in the way that it reminds me significantly of this in certain parts. ...Anyways, I was working on that song for over a month constantly & at one point I had a dream where it was kind of like a movie in the way that there was music in the background that was kind of narrating the emotional presence of what was going on. That song in my dream wasn't exactly piece by piece like the one I was making, but was very structurally similar & had the same feel. Maybe it was a little bit more intense.
THIS IS SO BLOODY BEAUTIFUL THIS MAY HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN BETTER THAN THE OPENING I MEAN MOST OF THE WORDS ARE UNRELATED TO THE MOVIE IN THE ORIGINAL SO IT'S NOT GREAT THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL EXCUSE ME WHILE I SOB VIOLENTLY
That is one God damn awesome instrumental! Like one of the posts below mentioned, it IS very Barryesque in its composition as an instrumental but the lyrics describe Craigs Bond very well as a tortured, slightly on the edge of deranged, soul so I like both. Very good.
+Jugem16 I thought the same thing, the music is great, I don't entirely dislike Sam Smith but I think the falsetto part killed it, too much falsetto , it ruined the song
The song works better as an instrumental, as it has that classic "Bond Sound," very Barry-esque (As in John Barry, who created the sound).. But, the lyrics touches on the character of Bond more than any other (Lyrics remind one of Craig's Bond facing his demons in CASINO ROYALE through SKYFALL). So, I like both versions.
Sam Smith Writing's On The Wall is the official theme song for the Bond film "Spectre". "Writing's On The Wall" is officially released worldwide on October 23rd, 2015. Sam called the song "one of the highlights of my career". The full song's release date was eventually pushed up to September 25th, when it also impacted on radios. Hot: Sam Smith "Writing's On The Wall" is positioned #71 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Sam Smith "Writing's On The Wall" lyrics [Sam] I've been here before But always hit the floor I've spent a lifetime running And I always get away But with you I'm feeling something That makes me want to stay I'm prepared for this I never shoot to miss But I feel like a storm is coming If I'm gonna make it through the day Then there's no more use in running This is something I gotta face If I risk it all Could you break my fall? How do I live? How do I breathe? When you're not here I'm suffocating I want to feel love, run through my blood Tell me is this where I give it all up? For you I have to risk it all Cause the writing's on the wall A million shards of glass That haunt me from my past As the stars begin to gather And the light begins to fade When all hope begins to shatter Know that I won't be afraid If I risk it all Could you break my fall? How do I live? How do I breathe? When you're not here I'm suffocating I want to feel love, run through my blood Tell me is this where I give it all up? For you I have to risk it all Cause the writing's on the wall The writing's on the wall How do I live? How do I breathe? AHH! the first bit there slapped a shiver down my spine and left a lot of goose bumps! The instrumental is very much so more like a Bond theme, Sam Smiths voice and lyrics, not so much. Nothing against the guy.
really love the song but very annoyingly the way it's laid out is s slightly out of time which makes it sound so wrong. if the colour changing thing wasn't there would be fine
Okay... The orchestral track is top-notch, as we've come to expect. The lyrics really gel well with the themes, and are haunting in their own right. I guess my problem with the song really lies with the voice of the person who sings it. Smith probably meant to invoke emotion, but the pitch just got under my skin and annoys me to no end...
+what0080 Exactly!!!! I think it just didn't go with Sam Smith, because I think he sings OK, but the high pitch notes and falsetto are too much, he sings OK , not great and I'm not really a fan of his, but he is somewhat OK , but way too whiny
raxotube thats the whole point...4 a bond film its all dramatic. Sam Smith is amazing at least he sings better than u and has way more followers and hit singles
Only a moron would assume to know how a random person on the internet sings. They're allowed to not like him, just like how him winning anything just proves he's got a bigger following than others. None of it matters.
I'd like the song with lyrics more if he didn't just repeat the song twice. I know other artists do it too but it seemed way more noticeable to me, especially when the the song changes its tone around 4:00 but it's again the same words
I just love how they try to skip over all of quantum of solace as though it didn't happen. We see Le'Chiefe, Mr White, and Vesper from Casino Royale and Roul Silver and M from Skyfall but not Dom Green from Quantum
When this songs started in spectre everyone in the theatre cried inside.
yes
nope
nope
no they didn;'t
I don't think so
That dark piano is just fucking chilling. Adore the instrumental so much. It's just so much better it's not even fair to music as an artform.
God, this as an instrumental is so damn depressing and sad. I know it's for a Bond movie, but damn add this to any scene, fucking x1000 more emotion.
+Chemical_Kid23 you're right but don't forget that James Bond in the Mendes' arch is a tortured mind...
fahrenheitnono7 That's true. Even though Daniel Craig is a real bad ass haha. Plus the song keeps the sad tone very elegant.
Yeah
+Dylan Leewardus Instrumental version makes me feel like someone getting revenge on someone who killed your best friend

OMG I love the orchestral version then the one with vocals

I just love everything about this song!
I like the song better as an instrumental TBH...
+Jugem16 Me too. By far!
+Jugem16 Me too
no!
+Jugem16 Hell ya
+Jugem16 I thought the same thing, the music is great, I don't entirely dislike Sam Smith but I think the falsetto part killed it, too much falsetto , it ruined the song
Who here DIDN'T come here to whine about the vocals?
Who here actually ENJOYS the vocals for what they are?
Me!
Sam Smith is amazing
Can someone explain to me why so many people hate the vocals? I never understood it.

+Stan Gee what is the original instrumental called ?
This is a great remake of the original. The strings sound so good. I think that is the hardest to duplicate in electronic instruments.
I will sing it tomorrow on our sing class in music school
Thanks to this karaoke ❤️
How did it go
@@juminhan3375 sorry that im that late it was good
@@roseeenn haha, no worries. Thank goodness that it went well
Omg it uses the same font as the official Skyfall music video! Cute! :)
I sang this song and I literally won a show! Thanks to this song

Sam Smith "Writing's On The Wall" lyrics
[Sam]
I've been here before
But always hit the floor
I've spent a lifetime running
And I always get away
But with you I'm feeling something
That makes me want to stay
I'm prepared for this
I never shoot to miss
But I feel like a storm is coming
If I'm gonna make it through the day
Then there's no more use in running
This is something I gotta face
If I risk it all
Could you break my fall?
How do I live? How do I breathe?
When you're not here I'm suffocating
I want to feel love, run through my blood
Tell me is this where I give it all up?
For you I have to risk it all
Cause the writing's on the wall
A million shards of glass
That haunt me from my past
As the stars begin to gather
And the light begins to fade
When all hope begins to shatter
Know that I won't be afraid
If I risk it all
Could you break my fall?
How do I live? How do I breathe?
When you're not here I'm suffocating
I want to feel love, run through my blood
Tell me is this where I give it all up?
For you I have to risk it all
Cause the writing's on the wall
The writing's on the wall
How do I live? How do I breathe?
When you're not here I'm suffocating
I want to feel love, run through my blood
Tell me is this where I give it all up?
How do I live? How do I breathe?
When you're not here I'm suffocating
I want to feel love, run through my blood
Tell me is this where I give it all up?
For you I have to risk it all
Cause the writing's on the wall

Super

I really love this song but the tunes when I'm singing it just make me feel like I have the last few seconds before I die
Sounds like a theme song for a new episode of ''The Godfather''.

If I want to make a cover with this music, should I purchase the music?
why is it that when people are watching me my vibrado just becomes nonexistent and my voice gets shaky😬
Probably stress.
Fire ass beat

I have a question your lyric videos please message?
Tried to sing this, almost lost my voice.
Two hundredth!
Only love the reference
3:40
Is it slightly slow?
It does seem very slightly slower than the normal vocal, but it works. I love singing this.
ou telecharger les vraies instrumentales ?
1.25 speed makes it better...
kalau di dengar baik baik sepertinya arransement musiknya hampir sama dengan lagu"EGOIS" siapa yang niru ya sebenarnya??
Hi! I did a cover and added the link in description, is that okay? :)
I hope it's ok that i use it for my cover. :-)
It's not the same instrumental sound of the original song isn't it?
Am I allowed to use this for my cover???
Anybody knows songs similar to this one ?
Angélique Skyfall 😂😭
Aww it's such a bliss to listen to without that Sam smith voice......
not seen the film
So much better without the " whiny " vocals lets the fantastic orchestration shine through....
It works a lot better as an instrumental track, as Sam Smith falsetto is really grating and out of place.
I've made a cover with ur karaoke version. take a look ! 😊
a billion times better than billie eilish's whispering
