Finally a new game for the Quest that isn't a FPS. Thank God!
I will absolutely be picking this up, I hope they make more games like this. Also, overhead SHMUPS would be great - it's remarkable how well 2D games like this look and feel in VR.
You are right about the FPS games...SMH. Bought the quest 3 for the mixed reality ...hope they come out with more games soon.
@@howdy9231 yeah, I wasn't sold on mixed reality at first, but was quickly won over. They seem to be ramping up those games and there's more all the time. For non-FPS games, there is seemingly a lot less of them over time, but I think they're one of the most impressive formats. 3D platform games in VR, like Moss and early Lucky Tales games are amazing. Also side scrollers are really impressive, it looks like you have some amazingly detailed diorama in front of you. Best of all, for me at least, it doesn't make me motion sick. Been using VR since the 90s, owned every Oculus unit since DK1, and while things have gotten much better of times, it really does feel like 99% of everything is just a variation of a FPS.
@@howdy9231have you tried escaping wonderland? And down the rabbit hole?
Great 3rd person games
Tbh I like fps like most, I know I need to try other games, well more than I have. But this is a good step towards some more unique games.
There's too many genres of vr games and I'm not interested in most. But again this looked good.
@@growtocycle6992did you like the voice work of the light bulb minners 😁
Square enix got balls to try this out! This only means VR is going places finally
Chrono Trigger like this would be sick, but if this is successful we'll probably see octopath traveler or dragon quest 3 next
@@kvg198x6I have already sunk over 30 hours into Dragon Quest III with stereoscopic 3D. My Nvidia 3D Vision setup runs it flawlessly and the game is insanely gorgeous in proper 3D. Yes, 3D Vision is legacy hardware, but it sure does the beauty and attention to detail in DQ3 justice🤩
Cannot wait to play this been a fire emblem fan for a long time, and have loved some of the recent square titles. Hopefully, this does well, and we get more ports on quest.
I already love this game on my Switch, but the VR integration looks INCREDIBLE! I need it.
This is so refreshing to see
I just had an epiphany that I want to see that Fantasian game in VR. I also wouldn't mind the Yakuza franchise making its way to VR as well.
I have this game on the Switch and now also on the Quest because of the low price. It certainly looks better, but unfortunately I can't sit for more than two hours and have to get up regularly. I find the variety very refreshing and the story in 2D not disturbing.
Lol. That's a weird issue. Btw, I haven't tried yet to play it standing and just waking around the diorama...
edit: I did, we can. Still way better sitting down and dragging the diorama around.
Its a shame you cant stand while playing VR games huh...
For those with low vision, can you lean in to look closer at the chat bubbles and menus?
yes.
@VRnamek thank you!
We need FIRE EMBLEM games in VR. ALL of them, I would buy them all!! This is amazing!!
I am so happy that this kind of port happened and would love to see this kind of conversion happen to a lot more games!
I just wish triangle strategy was a game I wanted to play more. Too heavy in a story I don't personally find compelling when I'm not a jrpg kind of guy in the first place. Despite not wanting to get it myself, I'd love to see it succeed so we get more games that try this kind of thing!
This looks really fun!
After playing this all I could think about is all the other RPGs that would be awesome like fire emblem or legend of dragoon or even Zelda
I'm not big on turn based rpg games, I need to play more. I played the re release of FF7 and I haven't gotten back to it in awhile. Regardless I saw this game awhile ago, looks cool.
I always have love for RPG's
Is there a way to change the angle of the map so you are not always looking down? Demeo has this and it makes the game very comfortable to play.
Yeah you can move it up down left right and spin it
@@jarydfye3909 Up, down, left, right, and spin don't actually change the angle, the... slope of the map. I get a bit of a headache when playing that one Lego game (the name escapes me) even though you can move it in the ways described, because it still expects you to view it from above sometimes. Whereas with Demeo, I can tilt the whole thing toward me, making it comfortable.
I had to buy, I want more of this! Bring fftactics to vr. I'll buy day 1
I have this for the switch and my one issue is there is way to much talking and dialogue to actual combat. I think it took nearly an hour to get to my first proper fight. But still iuts good to see other game types coming to Quest
true, very exposition-heavy. There are clearly separated story moments and battle moments and exploration moments. Classic RPGs would have more battles between the exposition and also lots of exploration. Then again, this is tactic RPG, battles are longer and more elaborate than in most standard RPG battles...
is this the full game like on switch?? grx enhancer will make grx even better.
Yup. Played it for 10 hours yesterday. Probably the longest time I’ve spent in vr
Thats make sense
kind of a stupid name though but cant wait to try it out!
It's frustrating and not knowing what you're recording...they could add the option for a viewfinder of something so you know...
what do you mean
if I hear story 1 more time .....
Give ❤ thx 🙏😊
story story story story story story story
How the heck did you get out of the exploration part at 4:17? I'm stuck there, talked to everyone a million times, tried every button, cant exit where we came in. Been SCOURING the internet for walkthru's but this game is way too young and it seems nobody is as stupid as me and stuck here. Would love to hear what magic button combo you used to finish the village exploration at 4:17, sadly you just jumped to a different part of the game.
Got this game yesterday, awesome experience so far! You can move the right controller stick to the right (maybe left, don't quite remember now) then you'll get a prompt to conclude the exploration phase
The hell is that thumbnail has nothing to do with this game lol
Waited for this game so much that guess what happened!!! GAME DOESN'T LOAD!!! Jesus I'm so Angry! Quest is V71. Deleted and reinstalled two times and it doesn't start!!! Hate it. And I can't even REFUND!! META You Fnck, instead of a simple refund button, you make people go though webpages!!! VERY DISSAPOINTED AND QUEST 3 BACK IN TO THE DUST FOR A WHILE!!!!!
doesnt look very good... the grid based positioning is optimal for snap comands like controller. Doing Tactics based gameplay would work best in a game inspired by Rage of Bahamut with full 3D positioning on the battlefield.
grid-based games have been around for millennia before dated gamepads were invented. You can place characters easily physically or by pointing with laser pointer... much better than dragging a cursor around with d-pad
