I am new to them but knowledgeable enough to match names with faces and seen plenty of their shows on TH-cam. I tried to watch seventeen but TH-cam didn’t have all episodes, but that was when my respect for Jihyo skyrocketed. I knew idols went through a lot as trainees and that show revealed enough to make it more understandable and empathetic towards them for what they go through. I didn’t know how much she trained and the struggles she went through. It can’t have been easy seeing year after year trainees progressing while you remained as a trainee especially if those girls were only there in a shorter time frame than you.
What I love about her is that she didn’t allow that to cause her to become bitter but she acted as a mentor to them as well! She’s incredibly strong and I can understand how people bias her. I don’t have a bias in any of the few K-pop groups I enjoy, but I have noticed I gravitate more attention towards the leaders because of how they carry themselves. I only started to pay attention to twice because the group I have been interested in are on hiatus and I needed something else. I wasn’t even going to bother with twice because I get overwhelmed by large groups and I’m not that big into music. Weird? I know, but I actually watch clips, compilations, and shows to see for myself if the group interest me. That’s how I begin to like a group and it took me a month to finally memorize their names to faces. Majority of those clips, I never seen and the ones I have are because of the Time to Twice.
Out of all the girls, Jihyo has the most beautiful smile. I have to say, she’s can’t play cute when she’s trying. It’s only when it happens naturally. I don’t know why she’s called God Jihyo and I’ve seen suggested videos with that title. Anyway, I did listen to one of her solo songs so I can get a grasp of her vocals, but I don’t think I chose the right video for that.
