    I'm not saying I want him back to being our coach... but a part of me misses him being our coach. Brad Stevens is awesome! I'm so glad he's been having success as a GM. Now we gotta seal the deal with the weapons he gave us and win the chip!

      A lot of people were hard on him toward the end of his tenure, and I do think he lost the locker room which meant he needed to be replaced. But it wasn't due to his coaching methods. Overall, he got the most out of the rosters he was given.
      Even so, I'm just glad he's still involved in the Celtics organization and being the guy who built this roster. Idk where we'd be without him if he just flat out left the franchise back in 2021.

      I got so mad when Stephen A Smith, Molly Querim etc, acted like Brad failed up. It's like, 1 down yr erases his entire resume, gtfoh. Also, too many overlook reasons for struggles that last yr. First, it was 1 down yr, not a couple let alone 3 or 4. COVID was going on, Kemba missed first few months, was compromised & couldn't even play in B2Bs when he came back. The Celts also made deep run in the bubble, and then had quick turnaround cuz of Covid. They also basically led NBA in games missed do to COVID. Look at a lot of the teams who made deep runs in bubble, most had down yrs following yr & most also dealt with injuries. Al wasn't here, and Smart, JB, Rob all got hurt at points that yr. And by time playoffs hit, it was basically JT & 4 bench guys vs Nets. And Jays were still young kids who didn't have priorities straight & Brad never got to coach them as more mature, cerebral players. Everyone kissed Imes ass, but Celts were making same mistakes under him. Was no dif with Brad vs MIA in bubble and Ime vs MIA & GS. When team took care of ball & had 13 or under Turnovers they almost never lost. So basically they beat selves when they lost. Under both Ime & Brad. Only Ime had a much better roster & more mature Jays. Peeps can point to the shooting but it's really the turnovers. You watch the box score & see the games they have 14 turnovers or more. All the transition buckets & extra points. Obv DEF & rebounding factor in too, but if they protected the ball, they could've won a lot of those games where they didn't shoot well. Was a small tangent but still apropos & Germain to convo. Brad was an awesome coach & too many gave him a raw deal cuz of 1 weird down yr. It's like people were impatient & under delusion that 21 & 22 yr old kids should win titles no prob; and if they don't it's the coach. Not that Jays weren't really good under Brad(all the conf finals runs prove that) But Jays are miles ahead of where they were under Brad just cuz of aging & natural progression + experience. Glad to see some fans are able to comprehend that Brad was a great coach & we should miss him there. But it lessens the blow obv when we see him doing work in the front office. Danny deserves ton as do other people in front office. But Brad has obv added a ton to it & has no doubt put his imprint all over this roster & took the contending team Danny helped set up & made them 1 of the few championship favorites we have in an NBA that has more parity than ive prob ever saw in my lifetime

    I want TJ McConnell. I did a trade machine that sent Pritchard, Svi and Banton out in return for McConnell and a Pacers 2nd rounder this year. The main concern is obviously whether or not you believe in Payton Pritchard to live up to his new contract and be impactful this year, and I'm not sure I'm there. Yes, I know PP is a good defender and rebounder for his size in addition to the shooting, but I feel that McConnell gives you the little things (maybe more of them) while having a more consistent offensive game come playoff time. I see too many times where PP is scared to dribble and can't get his shot off even when the defense is giving him space. We need to win it all this year and I think TJ can help us do that at a significantly higher level than PP as of right now.

    • @jman1562001
      @jman1562001 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eh Pritchard has more upside as a shooter. McConnell is a better PG by a mile. But Pritchard has put forth a better effort on D. McConnell is older so that play a part too. They basically the same player imo. If Pritchard fails to make a serious dent, he will fall out of the rotation and be trade bait for next yr.

    • @slightexag
      @slightexag ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that improvement would be marginal. TJ is also undersized. He's like a trade of playmaking and slightly craftier defense for rebounding and 3pt shooting from PP. I think he gets mismatch hunted in the playoffs in the same way PP would. I'd prefer an upgrade at big or wing. With KP and Horford having injury and age concerns, I think another competent big body who can eat minutes defensively in a bruising playoff matchup would be good. I don't think Kornet.Queta can be trusted in the playoffs, especially if Al or KP have to miss an important game. I think similarly, a defensive alternative to Hauser could help with flexibility in key matchups.
