What a cool little knot! I don’t know how you do it but you always do. Thanks for sharing another way to improve and make our knitting experience easier! ❤
Your demonstration is the most instructive I have viewed. I have tried and repeatedly failed to complete this join, Now I see where I went wrong. Thank you.
Excellent, can't wait to try it! Will it also work with slippery yarns? I tried the other way to Magic Knot in a blanket and after a few days all the knots came apart because the yarn just slipped out of the knots! So I hope this one will work better 🤞
I tested this knot with different yarns, including slippery rayon, and the knot was secure enough to keep the strands together no matter how hard I pulled. The key is to make sure the wraps don't move above the fold of the yarn tails. If they do, the knot becomes much weaker. It doesn't happen when we pull the strand up as we tighten the knot. Good luck :-)
Do you recommend creating the knotted join and then continuing to knit or to join the strands after you have already knitted with the new strand? Basically at which point in the process of joining a new ball of yarn would you create this knot? Thank you!
You can make this knot whenever you need to join a new ball of yarn. The only downside of this method is that we can't place this knot exactly where we want it to sit. It happens because we pull the working yarn to tighten this knot. I usually make this knot a few stitches before I need to add the new yarn, then slightly adjust the size of each of the next few stitches to land the knot between two stitches. These adjustments are very subtle, and they don't affect the overall tension of the fabric.
Weaver's knot is a good option too, but if you decide to give the "magic knot" another try, note that it is important to make sure the wraps don't move above the fold of the yarn tails. If they do, the knot becomes much weaker and can fall apart. It doesn't happen when we pull the strand up as we tighten the knot. Good luck :-)

Thank you, Esme 🙏
Thank you! This is the best tutorial for this knot that I have seen!
Thank you so much, Gina 🙏

Thank you, Katherine. I am glad I could help you master this knot. Happy knitting!
Thank you. I’ve seen this before but you made it much clearer.
Brilliant idea! Thank you for sharing it and showing us how to do it correctly. I will certainly be trying this.
Thank you so much, Maryna! ❤
You are most welcome, Gail :-)
Great video, thank you. I was able to see why it wasn’t working for me. ❤
Excellent 🙌🧶
Estupendo!, parece un nudo marinero😊
This knot is more like bowline knot. I am glad you find this tutorial helpful :-)

Thanks, I also can see with this video why it didn't work for me.

Thank you. Would you use this in knitting socks?
Sure. The knot is not invisible, but if you tighten it nicely, it becomes very small, and one won't feel it as they wear the socks.
😇💙🙏🙌
I tried it. Comes apart. I’ll stick with the weaver’s knot.
