    Jake, I do the same flash feeezing with all fruits and avocados. But for the avocados, I submerge them in lemon juice prior to placing on the tray so they do not oxidize. They keep beautifully.

    That sounded like an arm slap a bit . lol ouch. Id leave it staked for about month ! That's pretty cool you get to grow all the tropical fruit trees. You could probably mix the Mycorrhiza in a 3 gallon pot of worm castings and mix it in around the tree ball as you plant it then back fill with the rest of the soil. That's a guess maybe tropical fruit trees need a special kind of soil?

    I'm wondering if the orange tree in my yard is the Travita orange he mentioned. The fruit tastes amazing and is ripe in February.

    hi.
    why do you use azomite with a soil that has such a high PH?
    Do you use something else to bring down the PH for certain plants that require a low PH? or you do not plant those in the first place?
    to woodchips. when they break down the bacteria use up a lot of nitrogen in the soil.
    do you add some liquid fertilizer to support the plants? i assume its not a problem for trees because their roots are much deeper in the ground, but for vegetables it should matter.

    In my opinion Murcott is the best citrus for a home garden. No seeds, easy to peel, juicy and tart. My Murcott does bear heavily in alternate years. And in the heavy bearing years can stress the tree with a heavy fruit load. I grow Gold Nugget as well and for my taste I prefer Murcott.

    what percentage of your monthly budget is your water bill? I would love to have many edible trees in my yard but my water bill would be outrageous.

    bought a similar tree ,ended up with this thorny tree around 5 foot high, that produces a fruit like a tiny woody lemon.

    • @cgreen1111

      That sounds like lemon-cross. The one that looks and taste somewhat like an orange/lemon cross is Meyer Lemon. Research Meyer lemon because that might be what you have.(??) they are absolutely delicious and not as bitter as a lemon… Has some sweetness like orange.

    Barbados Cherry Trees go dormant?! This is such good news!....I really thought I had killed mine. It lost all of its leaves even though I covered it through the winter. I will definitely leave it in the ground to see if it comes back now. Thanks!

    That looks more like a Satsuma tangerine!!

    • @gardentips1249
      @gardentips1249 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would look more puffy and have a neck at the top if it was a Satsuma. Murcott gets very big and oval shaped and doesn't puff. Both are delicious, Murcott is later in the season

    • @mcdaniels101
      @mcdaniels101 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is not a murcott! Too fibrous! Murcotts have a lot of seeds. Satsuams liitle or no seeds. Satsuma very easy peel/no resistance when peeled. Murcott is not an easy peel. Murcott's skin is very tight against the flesh. I live in central Florida and personally know a grower of both murcotts and satsumas.

    • @gardentips1249
      @gardentips1249 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha okay. Show your grower friend this video and ask him what their opinion is, too late in the season to be a Satsuma.
