- The Investigation Of A Murder by Eric Saward was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1979.
Story:
The methods of police investigation in a murder case are believed to be well-known. Routine enquiry, occasional inspiration. leading to conviction or frustration. But what is the effect of modern police work on those only casually or coincidentally involved in the case? What is the impact, in particular, on the relatives of the suspect; the man believed, but not yet known, to have committed the crime?

Great story, well acted, enjoyable murder mystery. Thanks Arch.
Excellent! 👍

Thank you for sharing this great drama on here 😀
Fantastic
Stay well 😁 during this new world we are in!🦋🦋🦋🦋
Disappointed how it ended, unfortunately 😕
So am I. Great story but the ending is weak. It felt more like a let-down than a satisfying conclusion.
Weak ending.
Yes. I had all sorts of twists in my head.
enjoyed but going to give it another listen I got a bit lost at the end, probably just me. Thank you for sharing
Brilliant, what a gripping play to enjoy on a sunny afternoon. Thank you.

Good
A good story well written apart from the very weak and poor ending
Me off topic to. What's happened to Mclevy, Julie Enfiejd, Martin Beck and others. Please please bring them back !!!!!!!!
I found Julie Enfield stories too creepy!
Keeps you absorbed
Hi 😊 hope you are well,I am listening to investigating murder. It is great the straight forward the detectives are about other people.😄😄😄😄😄 The girls husband is so straight up. Love ❣️ it I am very into detectives, and mystery
Can’t keep a good man down....
I hope they change the locks on the house before they leave. And contact an agent to get it sold.
Can't get a more generic title than this
I enjoyed this play so much. It would have been much better if that silly stupid clingy woman whose husband keeps abanding her was not included. I fast forward. The play is brilliant and sad.
This sounds like an R D Wingfield play ...pseudonym maybe?
Not surprised he didn’t get promotion!
An unpleasant lot of characters: cynical policemen and neurotic middle class housewives . Audio drama fan from Athens Greece.
@@kalliopikopanitsa7631 neurotic middle class housewives? A woman whose daughter has been murdered, and a wife with a philandering husband who could be a potential murderer?
@@susansherlock7474 Hello there! I was referring to the exaggerated acting of the women , and not the characters depicted . Did not mean to be offensive as I love radio drama.
I like the detective burgess.
I guess i wanted someone else to be the murderer
Who killed Julia?
Can't help liking Armstrong.
(Spoiler warning)

They said she recognised the person in the car, and got in. But why would she get in with the car park owner?
Bit of a crap story with the ridiculously rude police, etc.
I agree, I actually thought the murderer was the wife.
I'm trying to find a old radio drama about a English woman who is living in the Mediterranean forget which country, but her husband buys a cane and the handle is possessed. And it's a male entity that whispers to her. And of course it is evil. If anyone can remember the name, I would be grateful 🙏🏼.
You've made me so curious about this!! I have tried so hard to find it, but to no avail, alas. 😭 Have you tried asking Oldtuberadio, or Chesterton's channel? There are other similar channels, I don't remember their names now, I'm subscribed to them all, I reckon. Please, let me know if you happen to find it! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Cheers! 🤗
I hated that desk sergeant. Patronising prat.
Good story but ending was not very good.
Interesting story, the woman who did not know where her husband was, was unbelievably pathetic? Ending dissapointing!

Terrible " Non Event ending"
Spoiler.... Think the twist should have had the mom being the killer when the husband Is out having affairs The mom turns to killing young women as a way of revenge
Terrible brummie accents 😱😁😱
Hi Karen not brummie accents but black country sounds just like my husband lol
Islandgirl1581
The Brummie accent is an assault on anyones ears.
Actually.. I love the Brummie accent! Especially on men 😉😁 I have always found the people of Birmingham to be very open and friendly and more than helpful when visiting so the accent has very positive connetations for me 🥰

The dismissive attitude by the police of women be they dead or alive - times haven't changed 😬
Boring story!!
