Takara belongs to the most prominent group in his class and is highly popular with the others, while Amagi is more quiet but is still bright, energetic and generally well-liked. Translation is a nuanced job. The subtitles here are slightly different to those in the viki app. So the scenes have a different subcontext mood in my opinion because of different translation. It's very interesting to me. But i appreciate how hard translation is to capture original intention of the script. Here i feel misunderstanding between the characters is highlighted, but with the Viki app translation it felt more like a consent discussion??? Hmmm..regardless, these 2 are adorable & I'm enjoying the episodes.
Japanese style of filming is so beautiful...,almost-esoteric or poetic aesthetic. The lighting & composition of scenes is always amazing 😍

@@xiaoyi4056 The Viki app translations give Amagi a less coy/shy feel and make him sound more like an inexperienced boy who wants to navigate the situation without appearing foolish to Takara. Whereas the translations in this clip here, make Amagi sound more naïve & clueless.
I don’t know the Japanese language so I can't say which translations are more accurate, but here are the Viki subs as you requested.

(later when Takara returns from his “moment” alone, they discuss what happened, Takara tells Amagi: “Let’s not do it today. I was really happy, but it is not something to “do your best” at. And we don’t have to rush it. Sorry for surprising you. And thanks for not hating the idea. Let’s do it when we’ve calmed down. Of course, that goes for both of us.” Then Amagi has some inner dialogue about how relieved he is, they hug it out and Takara says “Don’t get me all excited again”. Overall a very sweet episode about consent & communication.)

@@josey119 I love both services but there have been times when I’ve found a show on Viki that I’ve been watching on Gagaoolala and I’ve switched because I’ve noticed Viki often has a more cohesive translation. I’m considering checking if their version of About Youth is much different.

Keita Hatsukoi, Mr unlucky has no choice but to kiss and this series are all similar when it comes to main leads. One is clueless about what to do when dating n other one is over shy when it comes to kissing or expressing his feelings towards other. So I m still thinking whether to watch this series or not. I don't want to disappoint myself again with this series ☹️☹️☹️
Actually this series is a bit different from others...none of them have any experience so they struggle through out the whole relationship and overcomes from it together, they're high school students here so that's understandable to why they're both clueless...both of them are clueless about what to do and not make the situation or the environment or their partner uncomfortable but as the time goes by they're falling harder and harder while they're going through the situations normal couples go through and their desires are appearing time to time which is making it difficult for them to hold back they're feelings and themselves, they're trying their best to maintain their relationship in a healthy way but also at the same time they're going through their own problems of how to deal with their feelings
I'm watching it....to me Takara Kun and Amagi kun is better...it depends on people's preference I guess, I'd rather watch Takara Kun and Amagi kun instead of About Youth cause I don't feel any chemistry among the actors of About Youth but here I sure do also, About Youth is the same generic plot of one being rich and popular and one being poor and is unknown to everyone...I feel the difference that's why I said this series isn't as generic as other series including About Youth, About Youth's plot is over used to the point that you'll find it everywhere and on your face all the time, to me Takara Kun and Amagi kun is far better than About Youth in every aspect and is way more well executed, Takara Kun and Amagi kun Characters have background stories and have depend to them but About Youth characters don't ....thank you for your suggestion but I'd rather wait for Takara Kun and Amagi kun's new episodes instead of wasting my time watching About Youth, I already know about their ending just by looking at the released episodes and there's nothing interesting in that series to me
