This was so helpful, thank you so much! Question: would it be better if we were to explain the reasoning behind the points we give in the additional details? For example: "slotted mass is stick to wooden rule using glue rather than tape as tape would add more mass" or "bucket of sand is placed underneath the table to avoid damaging the floor in case the mass falls off"?

Hello, so in paper 5 question no. 1 if I don’t draw the figure but I answer the other parts, tell the necessary measurements to be taken then will I not get any marks at all ?

yes, you will get the marks. The purpose of drawing the diagram is mainly to save some of your time in thinking. Some students might not be able to finish answering the paper within 1hr15mins. Added to that, sometimes, the explanations from students might confuse the examiner, so with the diagram , at least the examiner could try to understand what the student meant by referring to diagram.:)
