    The production value of these videos are seriously underrated.

      I’m glad you appreciate it! Just checked your channel btw - and I’m extremely jealous of your Analogue NT Mini… I own the Super NT, but I could never get my hands on the Mini. Very nice. 😭

      @@HPRshredder Welcome my man!! And thank yas! 😅 I originally wanted the console myself years ago and let passed up on it... for it to go out of stock for the next 3+ years til the Noir, hah. Didn't allow that to happen a second time!
      You can totally get it for 510-550 still. But alas, it's THAT much of a hit to your wallet. Could always put it on a credit card and pay it down! 😨

    I really enjoyed your Bomberman Review. You’ve nudged my curiosity, to think that I would have a good time, as a non-gamer, playing this game. My favorite part was your point regarding going HAM. Our future deserves some HAM goings. Thank you for your offerings.

    Bomber Man looks like an absolute beast on the box art, but in-game he's the cutest lil guy.

    My first experience with Bomberman was Bomberman '94 on the PC Engine (which went west as Mega Bomberman on the Sega Genesis seeing as the TurboGrafx-16 kind of flopped). Incredibly fun game that blows the Famicom original out of the water. While the single player is fantastic, it's the multiplayer with 3+ players that makes later Bomberman games some of the best party games.
    Saturn Bomberman (the GOAT) has 10 player multiplayer, in case you have a Sega Saturn, 2 multitaps, 10 controllers, this highly sought after game, and 9 friends cool enough to play a game from the 90s.

      I really want to play Saturn Bomberman, and just, Saturn games in general. It's one of the consoles I'm most excited about getting into, eventually. The off-white one from Japan is so slick. Really want to play Guardian Heroes and Radiant Silvergun as well.

    Had a game night not too long ago where we all gathered around for some 5 player Super Bomberman 3 using the multitap. SBM3 and Saturn Bomberman may be my favorite entries in the series.

      Saturn Bomberman is legendary. I haven't played it myself, but I want to with the full 10 or so players it lets you do it with.

      @@HPRshredder It's NUTS, I bootlegged it because "muh wallet" but it's so much fun! Haven't done a full 10 player battle royale yet but we made it to 5 lol

    Nicely done looking forward to future videos! The lode runner ending was super weird still not too sure why they went with that but as interesting as this game is its missing what later becomes bombermans greatest strength, multiplayer!

  • @thedrunkmonkshow

    I'm spoiled because my introduction to Bomberman was Bomberman '93 on PC Engine where there's tons of power ups early on, animals you can ride on and unique level designs with bosses. So when I tried the original Bomberman on Japanese MSX computer from 1983 I couldn't play past 5 minutes of it because of how bare bones it is. After that I tried the Famicom version but because you start out so weak without power-ups I just assumed it was more of the same but with better graphics. But now after watching you play I see that it's way more fleshed out with "modern" bomberman elements in it after all. Despite knowing that now though I still don't see myself having the patience to play through the 50 levels for the sake of the power-ups none the less lol. 😄

    • @HPRshredder
      @HPRshredder  ปีที่แล้ว

      I will say that once you make it past the early stages of the game it actually doesn't take that long to reach the end because you can get so OP. The first stages of the game are the most difficult. Kind of like Kid Icarus.

    00:00 The intro is a bit long but fuck me sideways do I like the aesthetics of it. It looks really good.
    I think switching out the Spoken intron and using this as a bridge would make the video flow better.
    Okay here is a thing I noticed. Jumpcuts. Jumpcuts are fine and you are not as noticeable as others but you can hide them but always zooming in and out. So when you cut you have it zoomed in more and when you cut again you zoom back to normal.
    1:14 Too short to read, too long to sit through. Especially without music, this feels extremely awkward. Generally speaking don't really on text on screen to convey information. Just add you saying "Mazes being ...bla bla bla... and labyrinths being... bla, bla, bla" This is even something you can do post-recording all the other footage.
    1:18 Showing an icon of what you mean could make it easier to follow what you are saying "bombable wall" -> highlight the walls on sceen. "...pilars" -> highlight pillars (you get what I mean)
    In the enemies section, you list all the enemies and then you go in-depth. Combine those two things. Start talking about one enemy -> go in-depth. Talk about another one -> go in-depth. Talk about yet.. you get the point.
    Otherwise pretty solid. Nothing to say about the delivery and general feel of the video.

    • @HPRshredder
      @HPRshredder  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for the feedback. Great point about the text on screen. I also agree I could do more to highlight what I’m talking about specifically with the gameplay and features of the game. Static images can be helpful. Thanks so much, man!

      Dude, let me just thank you again for your suggestion. Adding a spoken intro and using the product shots as a bridge improved the flow of my videos so much. Also, your suggestion with hiding cuts and being more aware of how I chop things up was super helpful. Thank you!

    Saw this channel on the /v/ thread. Good vid! Also, great pick with the AV famicom! How were you able to get such clean footage?

    • @HPRshredder
      @HPRshredder  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you liked it! Even a few people liking these is enough to keep me going. I record directly out of the AV Famicom. I have it modded with the Hi-Def NES mod so it has a full-size HDMI in the back. I run that out into an Atomos Ninja V to record and that runs out into my monitor. The Ninja V is the same monitor/video capture I use with my camera as well. Two birds with one stone. It’s all from the Famicom; not emulated. Thanks for the comment!

      @@HPRshredder Sweet! I’ve wanted to get the Hi def NES mod myself but it’s been impossible to find for a while, even before Covid supply issues. Also cool to see famicom stuff, not many people do that. A couple of famicom titles I really recommend are Battle City, Nuts and Milk, Kid Dracula, and Eggerland. All great games!

    • @HPRshredder
      @HPRshredder  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@samuelbaugh4952 Kid Dracula is on my list! I have also heard some buzz about Nuts & Milk. I’ve never heard of the last one though - I’ll look into it and if it wasn’t yet released I may add it. And I had to wait a while for mine. I think I got it in 2018. I had been wanting to do this sort of thing for a while but it took a long time to get everything together. I also was considering the Analogue NT Mini, but they were just never available.

    • @samuelbaugh4952
      @samuelbaugh4952 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HPRshredder Yeah Eggerland is awesome, and a personal favorite franchise of mine. It’s a puzzle game that revolves around pushing blocks and dodging enemies, and has absolutely diabolical puzzles. It also has an insane release catalog. Three games released on the Famicom under the series title of “Eggerland”. But then after that, 7 more games released under the more well-known “Adventures of Lolo” title. 3 games released on the NES, 2 on the Famicom, one on the Gameboy, and one on PC. The website “The cutting room floor” sorts them out better than I can explain.
      My personal recommendation for games are either “Adventures of Lolo” specifically on the NES, not Famicom, or “Eggerland”, for the Famicom disk system. The other games are still good, but significantly harder. The only one I would suggest avoiding is Eggerland: Meikyuu no Fukkatsu on the Famicom. It’s by far the most difficult game I ever beat, I really only finished it because I love the franchise.

    • @HPRshredder
      @HPRshredder  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@samuelbaugh4952 I see! Lolo is on my list; but I have only been buying the Famicom versions so I guess that I’ll see that soon. I’ll have to check out the sequel as well. I’m not averse to difficulty but if it’s cryptic that’s another thing. I try to get an idea of games without outright spoiling them
