Poor Mary!!! She couldnt hold her Son as He suffered so much, as He felt abandoned by God, as He was cursed and defiled by the crowd, as He died- she could not hold her own Child in so much agony. She must have felt so awful, and wished she had been with Him there in the garden, at least! Poor Mama. Her own suffering must have added to Jesus’s as well.
