New Balance's releases are the only ones that get me excited these days. The materials, craftsmanship, and colorways have been top-notch for the past 2-3 years. :)
New Balance’s materials have been comparatively on point for my entire lifetime, but the made in America/England stuff just makes Nike look like plastic garbage and roadkill pelts 99% of the time. AMM 3 and some others are the exception.

NB has been a part of the conversation for at least a decade. I think resale prices over that period back that up. Stores like Concepts and Bodega deserve as much credit for elevating the brand as Salehe. Maybe he carried it over the line for high fashion people though.
Even over the last year Aime Leon Dore, Casablanca & jjjjound have done more to push the brand into the attention of social media hype crowd. The Salehe collab is just an extension of this current wave NB is on.
As I have gotten older (Im 26), I have felt the need to broaden my sneaker collection. It gets boring when all you wear is Nike, Adidas, Jordan. You want to stand out? Wear other brands. Nike isn’t paying me to be a walking billboard so might as well look at other brands.
Oh no way, didn’t know the shoe’s inspiration was from Havasu falls! Did a backpacking trip there a couple years back! Damn now these became a must cop for me! 👍

New Balance is basically leading the sneaker game today in my opinion. Whether it is a GR or collaborative release, we can always expect that the materials would be top notch unlike the synthetic materials that other brands are using in their over priced sneakers.
Never had a new balance sneaker in my collection, but when it comes to collaborations with Bodega and Salehe Bembury. The finish and the detail is high standard. These are sort after in the UK and resell twice the retail price of £230. You are paying for the quality and the crafty of Made in USA or England.
NB hss always been in their won special pocket for me since 2001. That foes for materials and craftsmanship. The same goes for my love for Roos aka Kangaroos

Most of their collabs have been top drawer and now demanding silly resale prices, confirming the hype. A good number of their GR releases in various models are also awesome and deserve a place in any sneaker fan’s collection.

In all fairness the standard GR 2002r has fantastic quality 2 stroke suede for anyone who can’t get these.
I started collecting with New Balance pairs. I can always say, whatever silhouette you cop, they will always gonna be comfy on your feet
