Best concert ever!!! I too have waited over 50 years, holding out hope, that the stars would align, and I would be there, going down memory lane, and it was what I remembered, what a ride!!!
Great review Sam. Loved hearing your endearment to ELO’s music. Saw them in Detroit 2 weeks and also back in the 80’s. You have great taste in music. Keep up the reviews!
So awesome you got to see Jeff Lynne live, I’m very jealous but also very pleased for you! I was expecting him to play the hits, I really hope he tours the UK soon.
We went to Boston show and had great time. Would have loved to see Wilbury’s End of the Line performed, in similar way McCartney does I’ve Got a Feeling live. Would have been epic. Not a complaint though. Show was awesome.
Hey Mick, I know he was doing Handle With Care on the last tour, and I was disappointed that he didn't. I think the reason is that he wanted to solely focus on ELO and not his other songs. Glad you enjoyed it!
I knew you would love this show Sam. I had the pleasure of seeing the 8/27 show in Seattle. What an amazing experience. There were lots younger adults in the crowd as well as a lot of families. I know a lot of twenty-somethings that love his music.
Hey Sam! So happy for you as I know Jeff Lynne has definitely been one of your music heroes and bucket list concert experiences- I missed the Denver show but I’ve heard nothing but great things about this tour! 😎👍 Cheers-R
Your thoughts echoed mine back in 2014 when I saw the comeback show in Hyde Park, which was one of the best shows I've been to! Living in the UK, we have been fortunate that ELO have toured here quite a bit, so I've been to three more shows since 2014, and they've all been wonderful. I would've had a fifth but covid put a stop to that one. I'm hoping, of course, that Jeff gets back here before he finishes touring. I was lucky to meet Richard Tandy and his wife in 2016 while they were out food shopping in London, and they were so delightful and happy to be recognised, so they said.
A story.I was in my car/ yesterday/switched on the radio..Caught a song during the instrumental break..Thought it was a Beatles song/Strawberry Fields or something/Then the voice comes in and it's ELO.. Can't Get it out if my head
Great wrap up of the show and glad you had a good time. Actually, I debated whether to watch your video now or wait a few days. Reason being is that I'm going to see him Friday in Dallas, which will be my first time. I'm relieved you liked the concert and didn't come on here to and say it was a horrible show or anything like that. I'm looking forward to Friday either way.
I have seen ELO in this format. That shirt is so cool. You really should have gone to the show in Leesburg, though. Jeff Lynne is pure genius....that should be a shirt. If thar guy had some real hits, it would be a perfect show! Great review!
Yeah 'Telephone line' is great (George Harrison singled that song out too) i'm a big fan too. The album i find myself going back to is "Balance of power' from 86' i doubt he will have played anything from it? But give that a listen - or re-listen. 'Secret lives', 'Sorrow about to fall', 'Getting to the point', 'So serious' - its a strong album. I think Jeff's coming to the UK on this farewell tour - i'd certainly think about going. Ha ha - i got asked that question a bunch of times too "are you old enough to even know The Beatles/Bob Dylan" - "yes sir, trust me i know more about them than you could ever imagine!!"
Right now i think he just had north American dates, but I hope you're able to see him! I actually listened to Balance of Power in my concert prep and forgot how much I liked it! Thanks Kier.
One More Time, the opener, was a track off of the final album, From Out of Nowhere*
Best concert ever!!! I too have waited over 50 years, holding out hope, that the stars would align, and I would be there, going down memory lane, and it was what I remembered, what a ride!!!
@susanrhaly2686 that's awesome Susan! It was a concert for the ages

@cpenrose64 hey thanks for swinging by! Hope you had a great time in Detroit! Loved seeing Jeff for the first time!
We were there too! Great concert. Jeff Lynn really seemed to appreciate the crowd’s enthusiastic response to each song.
@@plendl1959 he seems super humble. Glad you enjoyed it!

That would have been cool with Dani Harrison. I had seen ELO a couple times in the 70s, but my wife checked off a bucket list item.
I have a lot of favorites
@@CalebRichardson-ex5kc me too!
Well done Sam. Happy you got to see him. Huge bucket list concert. Good on you.
Thanks Jason, amazing that he can put out those same vocals 50 years in.
Awesome review,Sam. A staggering amount of classics you rattled off. Cool shirt. Cross that one off the bucket list.
He sounded as good as ever! Thanks Rich!
Happy for you, Sam. I remember ELO on the radio back in the day. Great memories.
You would have loved it, thanks Dad!
The unequalled elo and the genius that is Jeff Lynne hoping he brings over and out to Europe thanks for sharing
I hope y'all get him, it was awesome!

@samstjohn1994 If Jeff tours here next year, Sam may be a London trip is calling you? 😉 Plenty of Beatles and music related stuff to do in London.
The song i think you were trying to name as far as the lady background singer with the operatic voice- Rockaria, is the song that starts like an opera
Yes, she was incredible! Thanks for tuning in!
Hi Sam so cool that you got to do this with Tommy !!! I sure did enjoy your video wow so good video :). Take care :).
Thanks Brad, you would have loved it!
I am sure :) I would have. I wish that I went too!!! Take care Sam:).
