I've been waiting for the Theory of Forms to pop up, so when it actually did in this video it was a sort of jumpscare! 😄 Hopefully you'll touch on Kantian philosophy and the epistemological implications of these ideas. In response to this video, I'd say that the western esoteric tradition has always had a problem with syncretism, ultimately missing depth within the individual practices it seeks to build upon. Many schools of thought incorporated into Gnostic or Hermetic teaching contain enough nuance to study for a lifetime on their own, which highlights the absurdity of using incomplete understandings of each in pursuit of truth. This tends to create a false perception of enlightenment as an endpoint or goal, but the supposition that one can build truth out of enough knowledge is unjustifiable, and consequently an endless endeavor. In contrast, as the Buddha taught, nirvana is not the result of the path, nirvana simply is. The title Liber Indigo could be in reference to the many esoteric texts following similar naming conventions, notably among them Jung's Liber Novus, but it seems fittingly comedic for Crowley's 'tables of correspondences', Liber 777, to also come to mind in comparison of how you connect so many ideas. Despite my above comment this is not a criticism, I enjoy the food for thought and the tone of these videos. Looking forward to reading your book, and future videos. Love you too!
Fascinating series, I love this sort of thing, weaving a braid of ideas. My view might be summed up as "experiential representationalism", in that there may be an infinite number of experientially equivalent representations of the structure of reality, and it follows that if they are experientially equivalent, we could not distinguish between them. Hence, for as long as the representation corresponds to experience, it is sufficient. At a deeper level, I do suppose that there is be a definite form, or structure, to reality, but that form need not be necessarily tied to a particular representation.
