Before I go on to talk about character stuff, I just wanted to say this video was really good! It's the first of your videos I've watched but I really enjoyed it. I struggled with what race to play even after making my character because I always felt like I was missing out. I've been playing a Duskwight Elezen but I've got a few problems with them - I can't find many outfits at my level range that works with their height and proportions, their animations feel really off compared to other races, and there's always that feeling that I'm missing out when looking at other peoples' characters out and about or even just seeing my own in a cutscene. I don't have the heart to Fantasia out of Elezen though, I'm too used to them and I think I'd probably feel worse if I just up and changed them so suddenly. That being said, there's always this feeling of pure joy whenever I find another Duskwight Elezen, and that's a really nice thing that I don't know if I'd get with many other races.

I love duskwight, but I totally understand your grievances! For me, tail clipping on catgirl has been a big one I have disliked for a while. Honestly my recommendation if you are ever unsure you could always try making an alt toon to see if you like them!
I've been playing a female Highlander for years now, after dabbling with a few other races, and I don't think I could give her up at this point. She's got amazingly outgoing, energetic emotes that add a lot of character to her cutscenes. And even though I've given her a naturally butch look with maximum muscles and short hair, with everything from tank-top to tuxedo glamours, it doesn't take much for her to rock a dress if I want her to. But I have dabbled in every other race, and I've come up with a lot of designs I like, from a himbo male Roegadyn to a slightly punk female Elezen knight to a cool-as-ice female Lalafell butler/assassin to the most femme female Roegadyn I could manage. And I love them all. I think every race has something to offer, and everyone's going to find one that clicks for them -- or several! One reason I love this game.
Zara! You did amazing! You really do bring up a lot of good points! I still believe male Eleven were done the most dirty and ironically enough Ameryic is the best example. He's supposed to be Elezen rep, but his face is male Aura without the scales!

Well some time ago i wanted to recreate my femboy self into a game instead of playing straight female and i tried all kinds of races too. I came to the conclusion that moon female cat is best fit. Nice boyish voice, found pale skin tone, chosed face 2, got dark green eyes like i have irl, big nose i ended up in character i really like. Short haircuts works sooo well on miqo, and im wearining a hairstyle from mogstation from a hw skin. I have a plaster on my character nose too, everything is so perfect about it. Even height is almost matching to mine irl, and skinny body but i also use a mod for flat chest and boom its all good hehe Its funny because i thought i would never play a cat girl but here i am, also i really love emotes and smiles and etc on miqo
My first and only character's a female Duskwight Elezen who I designed with the headcanon that she looks gothy and scary but she's the world's biggest doofus and massive gentle giant. The MSQ feels like it's designed with my exact character in mind, and the elegant Elezen animations fit shockingly well into that. I'm incredibly attached to her, she's hands down my favourite character I've ever created in any MMO. I also get excited messages whenever I bump into another female Duskwight because there's so damn few of us, and it always makes my day.
Choosing Duskwight is so based, great choice! I make sure to dote all duskwight I see cause they are all so so lovely! I also love that goth goofball aesthetic, so adorable 😭
Nomming ffxiv race vids like xmas dinner. all the pets to all the catboys, my current and og (that first fantasia is still in a retainer's inventory somewhere)
I love playing as my seawolf Femroe. Went with max height and max muscle, and I also picked the slanted down eyebrows. I had a concept of an intimidating tall woman with short blood red hair and blue eyes. Seeing the emotes with her smile has been pleasing as it gives her a sharp or soft smile depending on the emote. Also it's fun for me to see my Femroe tower over a majority of npcs and players in FF14, especially the twins that are close to being half my Roe's size. That height also helps me find my character during raids too so that helps haha.
After going through a fantasia frenzy of trying multiple race/gender combos, at some point during Stormblood I settled on a Sea Wolf Fem Roe as well. She's got Face 3 with the straighter eyebrows, so she looks a bit gentler. Light green skin with white/blonde hair. I also made her shorter with lower muscle tone. Lol. So almost completely opposite of yours. But she truly has felt like the WoL for me. The Fem Roe expressions in cutscenes are super underrated!
I love my catboy. Played since Shadowbringers, and I didn't switch to a bunboy when he came out. I love the way the catboys bounce. He looks like he's always having fun. I like the little chin strap beard he's got. I love how he acts all cavalier about the scar across his eye, the one he got when "some [bleep] broke a sword on my face," yet his tuft of hair that refuses to stay in his ponytail is positioned to cover it up. Plus, Male Miqo'te have the best /groundsit animation.

Giraffe jokes are the bane of my existence though my guy only gets compliments. Someone even stopped me the other day and traded me a bottle of champagne just because they LOVED my character.🤣
I started as a male misquote then in HW became male hyur and I wanted to swap race again but couldn't decide if male or female and from shadowbringers to today I've been a male lalafell who cosplays as a female with the deep link voice :p
More facial hair options would be peak!! On male miqo you can get some extra stripes near the bottom of your face which are nice, but still not as good as real deal facial hair!
I'm a Viera main. Female viera just feels right, like that's me. Also, I can definitely tell the fembun faces apart. I love the bouncy ears and the bunny faces and the THICC assets they have, also, the stilted feet are just perfect. I wish they gave us more female viera soecific footware options.
I started as a middie because I cant stand clipping and ended up getting attached. I ended up swapping to Viera because i was tired of my friend bothering me about it but now that Im attached to both of my WOL im going bankrupt from fantasias
My current character is a male Miqo'te, though now I am trying to debate with myself if to go Viera or make another Miqo'te. This might help me decide. 😁
My main character is a female Wildwood Elezen, back in early Stormblood or late Heavensward I can't really remember I asked the FC I was in what race I should Fantasia into because I had an idea for female Xaela but everyone said don't change my character and the way the FC chat log flooded I got scared to drink the Fantasia and to this day I have Fantasia just sitting in my retainers inventory just sitting there.
I run around as a catgirl with farce 3 mouth 3, wanting to switch to mouth 1 for cute reasons but your display has really tempted me to see how face 1 would look ;v;
Oh I know the feeling, before deciding on face 1 I waffled on face 1 and 3 for a WHILE. If you’re thinking about it I’d recommend making an alt and looking at all the expressions and how they feel for your character!
@@zarawillow_ ya that was the plan, since im still on FT, and my free Fanta use was to initially change my mouth and eyes only xD So i resigned myself to make different alts to test out the ingame lighting compared to the creation screen, with a different face/mouth i will want to test out expressions as well :> I assume you're using face paint to replicate face 3's cheek markings yes?
@@fluxwise I’m just a moon cat! Moon cat face 1 gets face markings! The face markings on all the faces are actually different between sun and moon cats, you should check them out!
As an Aura lady I completely agree! If we could choose our face and horns would be wonderful!!
I will readily admit that each race brings something unique and fun to the table, but overplayed as they might be, I just cannot stop loving miqo'te.
