How I Use Windex to Remove Makeup, Products, & Sunscreen From Wigs

Is it really WISE to use WINDEX on WIGS???
Yep!!!! I learned this little trick from Misty on Wig Talk Wednesday! I even called her to make sure that I heard her correctly😉
Please accept full responsibility for your own actions if you wish to try any of my suggestions😉 This is NOT RECOMMENDED for Human Hair Wigs!!
I only use it on regular synthetic and heat friendly synthetic.
Please remember, just because this is how I do this does not mean it is the only way to do it or that it is right or wrong. We all have our own way of doing things. This is just how I do it.😉
Sometimes I only do it for 15 minutes, (and that is how long Misty recommended). But I have had wigs with a lot of product buildup that needed to go quite a bit longer! (15min or up to 1 hr in some cases!) Think of it like cleaning a bathroom mirror or even your car headlights, sometimes you need more than one application!!🙄🙄
I have gotten to the point that I do this every single time when I am going to wash my wigs because I don't want to go completely through shampoo and then conditioner and then trying to straighten them with my flat iron only to determine that there's product still transferring to my flat iron 🧐🧐🧐 And then at that point, I have to stop and start all over with the Windex. So now I just do WINDEX each and every time.

Do you mean that amazing white bucket with the handles????? I got them about three years ago at Walmart and man do I wish I could find some more!!!!
I found one bigger than this at Dollar tree once! And wait a minute they might've had this size I better go back and look again😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hey Sugar, I watched this in the past but I don't was my wigs all that often, i.g. Never 😜 so I couldn't remember all the steps - how long would you say it stays nice after the Windex treatment - like how many full day wearing would you say it stays decent before it's back to Normal Good 🤔
Can you say if the Windex routine is about the same results as Silicone Bamboo Mix results?

The Windex treatment helps to remove product buildup and environmental dirt that blows in our Kansas wind. So think of it as stripping old paint.
It does a completely different job than the bamboo mix .
So I would use the Windex to remove the old products before using the bamboo mix to then go in and condition.
And they can last a very long time, but that depends on what kind of products you use on it. I try not to use any products at all, and therefore mine last longer.

How often should you wash your wig? I was told the more you wash it the shorter of the life

I was also afraid of washing it too often in the beginning because I had heard that as well. so I only wash mine if they smell bad on the inside like a ball cap... or if the fibers do not move freely. And sometimes you can give her just a cold bath will revive her without giving her the entire shampoo and conditioning, IF she is not full of products, and dirt from the air. And if you have enough wigs to rotate them, you're not wearing an individual wig every single day you would wash them less often because they have time to air out😀

Can you wash out the Windex instead of waiting for it to drip out?

But I will say I always like to rinse as much gunk that I am trying to remove before I start with another procedure.... so the shampoo treatment will work better😊😊😊
