If the custom character is male, the fusion is male. If the custom character is female, the fusion is going to be female. The base body and face are based on the custom character, so it's pretty easy to see the resulting gender.

Nickle Guy it depends on your cac's type( power,speed,tech) and your cac's race I have a speed based sayian because Sayians are slow so I want to fuse with another speed type so I can stay that type and make more use out of it and because Sayians have a poor moveset I would want to fuse with a character with a diverse move set instead of vegeta how has almost the same move set but for the basics fuce with a character over A rank because of what I know all cac's are b rank so something over could bring your rank up but these characters won't change/bring your rank down (hercule,saibemen,yamcha,cell junior...etc )
I think they missed out on an opportunity to simply things, namely, all fusion dance fusions wear the same white pants, black vest outfit. It's the earrings that combine outfits.
