Nearness to God (Ephesians

A sermon delivered by C.H. Spurgeon, Lord's day morning January 17th 1869.
As usual with Spurgeon, he takes the text and views it from an unexpected perspective. He establishes all access to God through the precious blood of Christ.
He proceeds to trace the closeness to God enjoyed by the Israelites, by the priests of Israel and the High Priest. He also closely examines the proximity to God felt at Sinai.
How blessed we are to be made near to such a glorious and holy God!

What he talked about here is true, only for those faithful members of the Church Our Lord founded (Matt 16:18-19) and sent for salvation of souls until the end of the world (Matt 28:20). Our Lord is the Head of His Church, not every church founded by men. And He saves only the faithful members of His Church, which is His Body and Bride (Eph 5:23) and those sheep in His Only Fold (John 10:16, 27-28). Our Lord said, "Whoever listens to you, listens to Me. Whoever rejects you, rejects Me and the One Who sent Me (Luke 10:16). All protestant churches reject the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church, instituted by Our Lord for the salvation of the human race.
Do you think Mr. Sturgeon is saved, who rejected Our Lord's Only Church whom He sent, and thus rejected Our Lord Himself? "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven....I never knew you. Depart from Me, you evil doers (Matt 7:21-23)" are said for all those who misled people to eternal perdition.
May God have mercy on all those who are misled, open their eyes, and grant them understanding, so that they may come to the Fathers House, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of Truth (1 Tim 3:15), and be saved. Amen!
