Shalimar is my all time favourite perfume, I've been wearing it since my 20s and it hurts when I hear it described as dated and old fashioned, old lady scent because it is just so beautiful. I guess it just shows how like fashion the style of fragrances that are popular changes from year to year.
20 years from now the perfumes that are considered “young” will be for middle aged women. I don’t subscribe to ageism and believe women should not be backed into certain categories of fragrances based on their age. Estée Lauder Youth Dew for example, get a younger woman to try it and associate the scent with the name. I smelt Shalimar when I was a teenager I’m in my 20s now, and I enjoyed it. My peers didn’t like it but it’s not because it’s “old lady” it’s because it’s a well formulated fragrance with character and essence and they’re not use to it, they’re use to the most basic fragrances that don’t really have any special or unique notes. I think it’s because so many younger women are given these basic synthetic sweet fragrances that lack depth and don’t really identify with any particular notes other than being sweet/fruity/floral. It’s generally the younger women that push fragrances into age appropriate categories, fair enough something can be vintage, fashion evolves much like perfume but I would not say “old lady”. To me, there’s juvenile (child-like) fragrances and then fragrances for adults 18 and onwards that’s it
@@ckrawczyk9104a very long way to dismiss people who don't share your tastes. If it smells bad to them, they don't have to wear it because of all the pseudo elitist qualities. Furthermore, some scents are indeed more fitting to older people, the same way some tastes are when it comes to beverages, foods etc..., that's just reality.
Ohhh don't worry. Shalimar stands on it's own. Many of the others perfumes will be considered outdated in a few years and Shalimar still will be there teaching how a good perfume smells 💙. Just don't give credit to what other thinks and enjoy it❤. I think many of this youtubers never really wear it. They might had tried it in a blotter but wearing it is a totally different story
It’s now lots of cosmetics and stuff I guess it’s not an edgy ‘niche’ house but they are one of the first big perfumery houses, not designer like Dior or Chanel
I do have one that is quite unisex. It's a smoky citrus scent that lasts all day. It's Habit Rouge. Mitsouko, terracotta and souffle intense are on my wish list. I must try the one you said that smells like candied violets!
Guerlain is my 2nd fave House after Serge Lutens. I love the Arts and the materials collection the most: Angelique Noir Ibackup worthy), Spirituese Double Vanille (backup worthy), Tonka Imperial, Cuir beluga, and Joyeuse Tuberose (the most elegant/sophisticated tuberose I have ever smelled). I also love Mon Guerlain, Insolence, Shalimar Souffle Intense and Elixirs Charnels Gourmand Coquin.
I was devastated to go to the Guerlain website and see that Gourmand Coquin was no longer there! Thank god I finally got around to buying a full bottle last year-but it does make me nervous to think I can't just run out and grab a backup now!
I recently found your channel and I'm LOVING IT. Really enjoy the way you describe perfumes. My fave guerlain perfume would be Mon Guerlain Can you please show us your JPG collection next time? 🥰🥰
On me Mon Guerlain smelled like honey. Didn't smell any lavender, which was disappointing, and it was only a skin scent. I couldn't smell it after an hour. I wonder if the intense would be better.
Guerlain is my favorite house, and Shalimar and Mon Guerlain are my favorite of the line. I have Samsara edt, Shalimar edp, Shalimar Soufflé Intense, Shalimar Soufflé de Lumiere, Insolence edt, Insolence edp, AA Teazurra, AA Limon Verde, AA Mandarine Basillic, Mon Exclusif, MG edt, MG edp, MG Florale, MG Intense, Terracotta, Mahora, L’homme Ideal Cologne. I want to get LPRN, just the original. I’ve tested some of the higher end line and don’t really like SDV. It’s too woody for my taste. I like Angelique Noir, but it’s not very long lasting for what it costs. I wanted Gourmand Coquin, but I waited too long and now it’s gone everywhere. I hope I can get a bottle one day.
Hi there please help me . I'm trying to find a dupe for L'instant Magic. Since this fragrance is unavailable in my area and i have loved this fragrance for quite a few years. Do you know another fragrance similar to this ?
I'm a little curious about PRN because I have a bottle of Lolita Lempicka and it's got that sour cherry/licorice base in there. I really like it but I've had a few people tell me it smells really chemically so I wonder if PRN is any better
Having owned both, I think you'd like it. Compared to LL it's more tart at the beginning, richer in the base, and not sweet in the same "fluffy" way (though it is sweet!) LL has significantly more licorice but it is present in both. If you haven't given it a try yet I would suggest you sample it!
I have a lot of from the house of Guerlain I’m my collection Mon Guerlain (edp, edt, intense and florale); LPRN intense and eau fraiche, shalimar soufflé intense and shalimar cologne, insolence edt, and L’instant edt. The last 4 are leaving my collection
Hi,Gabby. Can you tell me what perfume do you like the most between,Mon Guerlain and La nuit tresor from Lancome ? Wich is better, in your opinion? Thank you 😘☀️🙏
all tge guerlain fragrances i dont like featured here. i prefer Chamade, L'herre blue, Apres L'ondee and maybe l'instant if you really want something sweeter.
Guerlain makes high quality fragrances
La petite robe noir is my favorite cherry scent.. the longevity is amazing on my clothes until the next wash
I love mon guerlain EDP!
I love Guerlain perfumes, favourite is Mon Guerlain EDP. An absolute masterpiece. You are breathtakingly beautiful, by the way!

I wouldn't take it too personally, there are worse crimes than having a little life experience!

My favorite Guerlain perfume is Champs Elysees, it's soooooo good you should definitely try it. Extremely long lasting as well
Guerlain is my favorite house, thanks for the review 🥰
Guerlain is probably my favorite designer brand. By the way, love your hair today
It’s now lots of cosmetics and stuff I guess it’s not an edgy ‘niche’ house but they are one of the first big perfumery houses, not designer like Dior or Chanel
Lovvve La Petite Robe Noir! Omg I have sooo done that, mid declutter decide to keep 😅
I do have one that is quite unisex. It's a smoky citrus scent that lasts all day. It's Habit Rouge. Mitsouko, terracotta and souffle intense are on my wish list. I must try the one you said that smells like candied violets!
Love La Petite Robe Noire! Will always have that baby in my collection👌❤️

I prefer the Mon Guerlain EDT to the EDP. The lavender is too sharp on me in the EDP.
I recently found your channel and I'm LOVING IT. Really enjoy the way you describe perfumes.
My fave guerlain perfume would be Mon Guerlain
Can you please show us your JPG collection next time? 🥰🥰
Mon Guerlain is the best !! 💐
Love you and your channel so much!
On me Mon Guerlain smelled like honey. Didn't smell any lavender, which was disappointing, and it was only a skin scent. I couldn't smell it after an hour. I wonder if the intense would be better.
Sameeee. It smelled like JPG Scandal original
Suggest you try the original dna of the scent: Shalimar!

U rock it girl😍😍😍The look is amazing.
I love guerlain shalimar , le petite robe noir , l' heure bleue and vol de nuit ( all edp )
Gourmand Coquin is on their website. Definitely on my list. I smell the spice in the opening.
Congrats on 10k Gabby!! 🤩🤩
Hi there please help me . I'm trying to find a dupe for L'instant Magic. Since this fragrance is unavailable in my area and i have loved this fragrance for quite a few years. Do you know another fragrance similar to this ?

I love so much idile 😁❤️
I can’t find Insolence anywhere! Help. 😂
Gabby, I’m dying to try Shalimar Cologne but can’t find it anywhere, any idea about the smell ?
I'm a little curious about PRN because I have a bottle of Lolita Lempicka and it's got that sour cherry/licorice base in there. I really like it but I've had a few people tell me it smells really chemically so I wonder if PRN is any better

Insolence is my ride or die.Just pure 💘
is this the one martin freeman smells before he dies to remind him of his wife at the last moment in netflix's film charge?
I love insolence 😍
Amazing collection 😍
Guerlain ❤❤❤
Mon Guerlain was very herbal and vintage on my skin
That s so weird. Is the same on my friends skin, very herbal. On me is just pure magic
Hi,Gabby. Can you tell me what perfume do you like the most between,Mon Guerlain and La nuit tresor from Lancome ? Wich is better, in your opinion? Thank you 😘☀️🙏
That sa hard one. Mon guerlain is very elegant and la nuit tresoir is very sexy.. I would go with mon guerlain tho
@@rbdvivi1 Thank you !🙏☀️
💜💜💜💜💜💜
To me Mon Guerlain is simply a watered down version of Shalimar. Am sticking with the original fragrance.
The tonka is similar but Mon Guerlain has the lavender and lacks the resins for me. I like them both but I don't blame you for not wanting both!
all tge guerlain fragrances i dont like featured here. i prefer Chamade, L'herre blue, Apres L'ondee and maybe l'instant if you really want something sweeter.
ps great iris undertones in my favourites
On my skin, Mon Guerlain Intense, is verrry very bad..i don't like it...it smells like a man parfume..i smell only lavander and nothing else
Same here :(
this woman has a bad taste, she threw away Shalimars and Insolence.
