God hates divorce. However, the Bible never expressly stated that divorce is a sin. Else the woman beside the well would not have been qualified to spread the Gospel of Jesus. Pls let's not read our own meanings into the Bible. Even Jesus gave a condition under which one can divorce which is adultery. Divorce is not a sin is probably why Osinachi is dead today. If a person makes an error in marriage, you can't say such a person has been condemned to a life of misery especially if the other party is not willing to make the marriage work. Marriage takes two willing people for it to work. Can two work together except they be agreed? Victoria Orenze is divorced yet God uses her regardless. Same with the Holy Spirit filled Kathryn Kuhlman. Even God himself said he divorced Israel at some point (Jer 3:8). Pls let's be careful of adding our own opinions to the Bible

It has become very necessary to set these scriptural records straight. First, divorce is not allowed but can happen even though God hates divorce and if God hates divorce, It is then therefore not an act of righteousness (Matt 19: 7-8). If divorce is not an act of righteousness, It is sin before God. If divorce however happens as Jesus said (Matt 19: 9), the man and woman should both remain unmarried and only death can release either from the vows of marriage (otherwise either who re-marry commits adultery) and until after that release, non of the two should re-marry. God never closes the door of reconciliation because that was why he sent Jesus Christ his Son. (1Cor: 7-11). Any other reference to any father of faith by whoever is out of scriptural context.

"If two Christians are in a marriage, it will work.' This is a perfect statement from you. In the same vein, two law abiders in the old covenant in marriage will make it work. It means two right hearts will make the marriage work.
What he said that is not balanced is to say divorce is a sin. How would God give and endorse a sinful practice of divorce because of the hardness of people's heart? It doesn't make sense. Divorce is not a sin. It is a safety measure because the hearts of men are still wicked, who can know it?
Diborce is NOT a sin hence its provision in the law and not cancelled by the new covenant.

God hates divorce but He allows it under certain conditions as Jesus said in Matthew.
For that reason, it is not sin.

    Pastor Esiri💪🏾
Thank you sir for re-emphasizing God’s intention with the word of God.
The examples of people and their marriages is not entirely wrong but these people have a past.
What’s the guarantee that they knew the word of God richly before their ministry started?
Marriage is God’s plan and if you don’t have understanding in the purpose or context of ABBA , that journey you will FAIL.
A kingdom marriage is two believers (these people have understood the foundation and basics to their identity) coming together to replicate the same love and sacrifice of Jesus through their union. This union is centered on AGAPE love(God’s kind of love) and not natural human love which is selfish(which we have nowadays).
First be taught before you jump to the end to avoid narrations like this. In the gospel as a newborn babe(1 Peter 2:2) SIT(with the word of God and by it you grow) WALK (Putting to practice the new man and what you’ve learnt) then you STAND (Full maturity in you faith and love walk with God).
Those examples should be used as a yard stick with the right purpose which is to learn their mistakes of not understanding the nature of God, his love and the purpose because he knows the flesh screams the need the companionship.
It’s not an avenue to just do because they did, understand why first. Learn from it but don’t make the mistake with consciousness of an EXIST.
Divorce is not God’s plan and he hates it and people will still take him for granted because of lack of understanding.

I listen to all ministers referenced here, and I think it doesn’t do the body of Christ service to square them against each other in a war of words to fulfil the agenda of Kingdom Updates TV. I equally do not believe Kingdom Updates TV has any agenda but to edify the body with the clips it posts. I advice that the handler sticks to that.
The subject of divorce might seem a complex one, but in actuality isn’t. God hating divorce doesn’t make divorce a SIN. That is inaccurate extrapolation. The reference in Matthew 19 DOES NOT in anyway categorically state that even if you were to put away your wife for infidelity issues, you would have to stay single because if you dont, you are committing adultery. Please, let’s not give an interpretation to scripture that communicates “pseudo purity” so that you place a siege on that command, making someone who has a differing opinion to look reprobate.
“If two people who are born again marry, it will work…” This statement is subjective because it’s not only being born again that makes a marriage work. Two born again people can have a rocky marriage because FAITH is not the only thing you need to agree on to have a seamless marriage. I give you a similitude: Paul disputed with Barnabas and they separated. Think about it: what kind of dispute would Holy Ghost filled slaves of Christ have had that they weren’t able to resolve? Did God like the dispute? Definitely not. Did the dispute then make null and void both their works for the gospel? Certainly not.
“If two born again people marry it will work…” So what happens if one or both are not born again? Do you think God’s command regarding divorce is for only those that are born again? Does He not hate the divorce of even the sinner? Hating it doesn’t make it a sin.

They shouldn't be comparing to mere mortals like Copeland the money lover, what makes them our fathers in faith, what is the big deal if they are sinners, that's the fault there cos no one is above fall or anyone can be outside God presence and still think they are

To sin is to '''miss the mark''. matthew 19:8 says '''Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.'' Yet again Jesus told the Pharisees, “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matthew 19:6). So, to divorce is to commit sin. I John 2: 1 says '''My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father-Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.'' If one however does divorce, Jesus is always available to show mercy and forgive that sin.

I hate hearing people claiming to understand how to interpret scriptures when they have never really gone through the study of greek or hebrew. Some of them will tell the novince that the Holy Spirit told them meanwhile their mind spoke to them.

Divorce is a sin and sentenced to a life of singleness but there is enough grace for a adulterous husband and wife, then grace is favouritism.
God hates a lot of things eg a proud look. None is righteous.
In everything allow the spirit of God to lead you.
Don't Divorce because others are doing it. Let the spirit of God direct you.

They are all correct. God hates divorce but the God I know would rather have you divorced and fulfill destiny than die unfulfilled in an unhappy marriage. And this will of God is a very sensitive area. Even if you marry the will of God ,if one person isn't putting in the efforts to make it work, it would still look like you married wrong, should a child of God now stay wasting away in such marriage? I don't think God would like you to waste away ooo

Perhaps, let these men first do a checklist on what causes divorce.
    1. Bitterness
    2. Violence
    3. Infidelity
    4. Etc
If what leads to divorce is is sin, then divorce must xhe sin.

Did the two people read the part of the Bible that Jesus said He say to some pastors, teachers, prophets and Christians "depart from me, I know ye not"? It doesn't matter what you've done for the Lord, SIN is SIN.

God hates divorce cos of the pain and resultant negative effects, but this is different from divorce being a sin.
Many marriages are sin not following the principles of God from inception cos of the negative and selfish motives behind the union. Such can be brought to an end cos the selfish motives will always backfire.

Yes if two christians married, that marriage will work.however,if there must be a separation or divorce in that marriage,it means one of them is not Born again or wicked perhaps. It might be two of them profess to be christians but they are not Born again.
2.the both might be Born again but they both were under heresies preaching from a false paator.but no matter how,Holy Spirit will make the both to pull away from that false doctrine because before the both are Born again by Grace but the both now had been dragged back to Law just like the church in Galatians.

Why are these pastors trying to confuse their listeners? That the likes of Mayer divorced and remarried didn't make them sinners, but they sinned and probably repented. All this talk about God's generals is the coinage of man based on giftings and the inherent accomplishments if properly deployed. It is God that knows HIS Generals. Divorce is sin! Divorcees can repent , be restored and remarry. Why all the fruitless efforts to convince believers that WHAT GOD HATES IS NOT SIN? Only the gullible will fall for that!
