Synopsis
One of the Hackitt report’s main recommendations was the introduction of a safety case process into the safe management of residential buildings.
This recommendation has been accepted and carried into the Building Safety Bill now before Parliament. The Accountable Person will have to submit a Safety Case Report to the Building Safety Regulator as part of the application for a Building Assurance Certificate. Safety Case processes have been in use in a number of UK industries for many years, however each industry has had to evolve its own Safety Case process to fit the particular requirements of that industry.
This talk will cover some background and suggest a series of actions which can lead to the preparation of Safety Case report in a suitable form for submission to the Regulator.
