Awesome story look forward to seeing the build? I had a 1979 Plymouth Duster had a 225 slant 6, 2 barrel csrb in it with an automatic It was white with a red strip across the rockers. Had an RV cam in it, it ran pretty good 😊.
What a cool model! I had a 1:1 76 aspen, which is the same, just slightly different. It had a 360 with 4 speed and amazingly fun to drive. It was originally a slant sixer. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I owned an Aspen SE - same as the Volare' for the year mine was. Bought it for 50 bucks. Had a 318. Drove it for several years. The car handled well. I read an article in a car magazine that said Dodge retarded the cam for emissions around 4 degrees so I bought a roller timing chain and was able to advance the cam back the way it should be. That improved the torque it seemed at least. I had a transmission shop put a shift kit in the 904 - set to the race option (skipping stock or towing options). The shop would not warranty the transmission if it broke and I agreed and told them to do it anyway - after all the car only cost 50 dollars. Then I added a holley and 4 barrel. The car was fun to drive It would chirp the tires going into second gear if you got on the gas pedal. 😲 I built the MPC model the last time it was released, and used the included fender flares which to my surprise fit very well. I liked the kit. I should build another one LOL You will like it.
@brucek3217 318s are very responsive and fun, in a Dart they were always a blast. Looking forward to this kit, if I find another reasonably priced I'll add it to my stash.
hi Joe... this should be fun... i remember those slant 6 bangers... great back story... here's a question for you... tomorrow night (9/13) i'm going out to the track with my 2024 Camaro... stock 3.6 engine automatic with a chip... what class do you think i'll run in ?? looking forward to the build... vinny

@@dacuzzz6951 I would guess Sportsman? That's assuming they use the basic Pro/Super Pro/Sportsman brackets based on elapsed times. Have fun!
