I think, especially in the Philippines, it is safer to walk facing the oncoming traffic ready to jump for your life! Obviously the powers that be do not require risk assessments before starting work on the roads...

I did 7 (not 12 years) flat...(and in Bangkwang....so you can add about 5 to that. Imagine living in Sakornikan on a plantation with ONLY men! Anyway once I was released it was at MDC Los Angeles, and going out that door and walking down the street was truly a spacewalk 1984 to 1991....the cars ceased having square corners and everything now looked like various takes on a mid-80's BMW. Really realized I'd had a decade taken from me!

I have only a fraction of the knowledge of an old salty Navy chief who was at Subic and then retired in the local area. They must be doing something right at the Coffee Shop , it has been there since Navy days. I stayed in 86 during regime change for 25 dollars at that hotel next to Denittos it was called the Marmont and known for beautiful flower garden by the pool. It was classy enough so that Navy officers on Wespac would send for their wives stateside to meet them there, I wonder how many adults now in US got their start from their mom and dads Philippines second honeymoon?

I would be interested in your thoughts about the American military coming back to Subic? Some talk about a joint venture with an Australian maritime company (if I remember correctly), to once again help support the pacific fleet and of course as a jumping off point for any exercizes or 'actions'. So there's that going on. Thanks for the video. My state is one that is burning up here in the U.S. So be grateful for the air you breathe, and we will say a prayer for one another. Your shirt logo looks great by the way.

There is a period of adjustment, for sure. And some foods, you will find, need to be imported therefore, cost more $$. Think, a good steak & turkey. And be careful to buy , mostly bottled water instead of pitcher of drinks placed at ur table, just depends where ur eating. But the heat was what got me at times, and ur not always near a place to buy ice. But I cannot wait to return, & stay for a lifetime, I pray.

$1375 PHP for just those groceries? That's $28USD or $39AUD. Wow. That's about expensive as in Australia if not more. Angels Bakery, certainly no heavenly prices. I didn't think the Philippines had got that expensive? "It aint easy being cheesy" lol good one!:-)

I don't know if you remember when there was only one vegetable stand there. So funny to see one Filipino doing business and ten more come to put the same business next to him, then both can't make a profit. You forgot they built the road and no sidewalk for pedestrians to walk. Lol. Mabuhay. Fun in the Philippines.

A suggestion: Try to talk with some average Filipinos about their thoughts and life in this Corona time. (Could maybe even develop into a mini serie.) And gently dig a bit deeper with follow ups. The problem will be to find someone capable and willing to talk openly. A big enough mask and some nickname might help. If you keep it personal and out of politics nobody should get into trouble. I think that would be most interesting for many, certainly for me. Just an idea, specially in this time of otherwise little action. Besides, nobody else does it.

As I like to see how the rest of the world is reacting. I will respond in kind.
I'm a 58 yr old father, grandfather in West Virginia. Still working. Didnt miss 1 day of work during this non since.
Have only worn a mask 1 time. A stupid nurse was insistent. Had to get a physical.
My place of employment. Over 300 employees. Not 1 person got this covid 19 during this pandemic.
Married off my youngest daughter last month. Not one person wore a mask. All by their choice.
Went to to myrtle beach last month. Supposedly a hot spot. All the locals there with the same thoughts. Similar employment with no cases. Didnt wear a mask once there neither. Even the walmarts trying to push this nonsince.
Went to san diego earlier this year. Same thing there. Of course this hog wash was just starting. So didnt need a mask on the plane either.
Just figured I'd share my location.
Side note. I only go in walmarts once a month. I dont reward stupidity. Also to note. If you ever been around west Virginians. We dont forget. Walmarts just screwed themselves for generations. But I like pushing them back. A couple months back in the heat of this nonsince. I'd go in without a mask. Just to start a trend. At first I was the only one without a mask in the store. Now almost half of the store is unmasked.
Also to note. The C yoU Next Tuesday.... Control Freak Nurse who got me to wear a mask. Permanently destroyed her reputation with me. She will not get a 2nd chance.
The point. You can see clearly who people are in times like these. If there was justice. True Justice. All these belly crawlers would be thrown in prison until their last breath.

I live in Norway. Can not remember to have seen anyone with a mask. Deaths related to covid WAY below seasonal flu. There was never a lockdown here like seen in other countries. a very LIGHT version. I am amazed to see videos from abroad where so many people wear masks.
