Yo Tanner, i know this is an older vid, i bought the Killer B new header the Max VE, it has a bigger secondary runner (2.5") I plan to run it with my PTE6062 with ETS Rotated kit (up pipe its also 2.5") So a killer b representative told me this...If you're going to stick at or
@@Smeedia definitely, i spoke today with killer b, they told me the same, i might loose 300rpm at the most, no big deal, and since ill pair it with ETS Up pipe 2.5" as well, smaller secondary killer b and ets 2.5" will cause turbulence pressure. So Max Ve it is bro💪☝️

I was considering equal length headers but I don’t want to lose the rumble. Lots of people are telling me it will make it more reliable and make more power but that rumble is too killer to get rid of. You should wrap those headers they will keep your engine bay cooler in temp and increase flow because it keeps the heat inside or something like that. Also is there a difference in using that oil rather than castrol or factory recommended? Thanks.
Its the next oil in the oil test sequence. And Killer B advises against wrapping the headers. On the next build they're going to be sent to ceramic coat. I just don't have the funds to do it right now
Smeedia ok for sure. My friend did one of those but in a spray can and the heat from the exhaust will cure it on. Anyway great to see she’s coming together well. 👌
I got the killer b and if you can’t afford them then just wait and keep saving cause THEY ARE TRULY WORTH IT AND NONE COME CLOSE SO DONT WAIST MONEY ON OTHER BRANDS JUST SAVE AND YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED
The KillerB Pan comes with a reusable copper washer for the drain plug. KillerB reccomend to not use the crush washer, as it can damage the sealing surface on the Aluminium :/ Also, you should think about putting some heat-protective sheathing over your o2 sensor cable. My KillerB headers are ceramic coated, and it still managed to melt the wires.
I would suggest running a different oil filter, the oem blue filter is made by fram and doesn’t seem to be made very well. After cutting open a lot of different filters that were on Subaru’s I believe a white k and n or a wix filter would be the best. But that’s just my opinion so do with it what you please
Pro-tip - On DBW subarus, flooring the accelerator pedal while cranking the car disables the fuel pump. Seriously. This means no fuel when cranking. Perfect for priming and less work than pulling fuse.
So I noticed you did not opt for the SwainTech ceramic coating on your KillerB Headers. Any specific reason why you chose not to at the time? Also, taking into consideration on how you opted to coat all your exhaust parts on the 6 cylinder, would you have acted differently going back to when you were building the FP Blue EJ257? Thanks!!
@@Smeedia Gonna have to look into trying out cerakote! Would you say cerkoting would perform as well? My main concerns are avoiding corrosion and thermal performance
Hella dope Tanner!! Hard work, gets you to the finish line. Just 12 more days for the tune, I'm thinking 447hp on e85, but I think we will get a surprise with this setup.
Finish line is in sight, congratulations! You should get a decibel meter when you go for your tune to measure the new found loudness of the exhaust note 🎶 , in addition to power 💪 that your build has made.
If i install a the same headers you have can I still drive the car a few miles to get it tuned? And also if I upgrade to a front Inter cooler and decide to switch to speed density will that give me more power ? Thanks hopefully you can reply
Good job! now I need to install mine. Do you have any pictures or video you could include next video of grinding out that barometric sensor to see the end result?
One thing that saved me a bunch of heartache over the years with headers (stock and aftermarket) was connect and torque any of the two-bolt junctions first, then three bolt junctions before final torque of the header to the block. This way you're never fighting to align leak prone junctions. Make sense?
@@Smeedia I mostly pointed that out to help future viewers. Hopefully none of your viewers will leave more knuckle skin behind on their heat shields than you and me.
Those headers actually make the car a fair bit quieter - the non-equal-length headers have exhaust pulse scenarios where any two or more cylinders can create constructive interference - resulting in a louder note. That scenario isnt possible with equal length headers - so the car tends to be a little more muted - but in a good way.
What kind of bolts do they send with the Killer b header ? They make these bolts for headers that will not back out after time they have these little keepers on it after you torque them. They flip around an catch the headers an want back out
Did you see PRE racings post? The ets version 2 maxflow equal length header out flows the killer b by quite a bit with the stock uppipe size... i was really surprised haha
The oil change reminded me. When I did the first oil change on my 15 WRX, the oil filter is mounted on the top of the motor. When I unscrewed it all the oil that was inside of it poured out into that nifty little bowl thing under the filter. Shouldn't that have flowed out into the block? Or am I missing something?
Yo what's good bro. I just got a set of ETS v2 headers. Can't wait I'm going ewg, flex fuel. Do you recommend wrapping my headers or leaving them butt naked? Thanks
Hey tanner. For the speed density sensor where do you hook that up? Is it in the right side front mount intercooler pipe? Do you need to weld the sensor in?
Mine came with a bung in the charge piping but you ideally want it as close to the throttle body as you can so your getting the most sccuatre readings for the air going into thr manifold
Your videos are making me become power hungry. IAG AOS is in the mail and I'm going to begin looking for a turner to become close with in the near future so I can start on the big boy stuff. Keep killin it 💪

Killer b is worth every penny and literally has no competition literally every part that killer b makes is hands down going to be the best compared to the other manufacturers they will always use the best material and they don’t put anything out until they have absolutely no flaws no matter how big or small and if any other company put as much into their products as much as killer b I promise you that they would charge a lot more money
Not totally related to the video, which btw, I've learned a lot from this channel! Thank you! But I recently bought a 2017 wrx, live in Arizona, so I'm wanting to upgrade my radiator. Should I upgrade the actual thermostat too? Or will the stock one be fine?
