A #2 here. Thanks for the video. After many hours, I've come to realize that the gap from Diamond and Champ is further than it seems. Took me longer than I expected to finally break through. I attribute much of it to the "Consistency" that you mentioned.
I love these videos, people get actual reality shown to them. I've had many c2-c3 players tell me I'm trash but when they get into GC lobby, they flop and quit 😂 always satisfying. please keep making these videos
Please punish c2s and c3s as much as possible for me lol. I’m diamond and the smurfs I encounter are always champs flexing on us mostly with air dribble plays. Thanks in advance
I peaked at gc2, but these days I play a lot more casually. Pretty much exclusively with plat/diamond IRL friends, beer in hand and going for clips more than anything. There's definitely something extremely satisfying about actually turning my monitor on and dropping 1000+ on some champ shit talkers every once in a while.
Id be down to do this as Ive always been bouncing between Champ and high Diamond. The thing is, most of these players do not seem cocky or wanting to put others down outside of their messages which might be an attempt to get into the video itself. Most of them were wholesome and worked well (or attempted to) with their tm8. Honestly, looking at it, many of them that complain about tm8s may need to look and see if they can find someone to partner up with more and have some voice comms.... as much as general voice comms in RL are aids, it still helps.
I think a large part of how they were acting here is that they're being recorded and they're in voice comms with their teammate, when they're solo queing they don't think about the other person that's their teammate at all. I'd even bet a large part of why mattdog might not be higher rank is becaue of his tendency to get toxic towards teammates (but that's just speculation)
This was pretty cool. As a Gc1 player (who doesnt think he deservers a higher rank with his current skills) I saw some pretty interesting issues but actually some realistic reasons for people to deserve a higher rank even if they blamed their mates. I think in Champ you can see that the best bc there are good champs that hit pretty much everything and the "problem champs" that wiff way to many times and hold those good champs back
@@cl4ka_keyrox Carry means two things. What I've found is below c3, you need to have solid defense, not amazing attacking in order to win. After that, everyone can defend pretty well so you're able to hit crazier shots and riskier plays.

Been stuck at C3 for a few years. Highest I’ve gotten is C3 Div 4. I wouldn’t say I deserve GC but I only play 3’s solo que. I may be the problem but wonder if having the same teammates I could anticipate each round would help me make that last jump.
Probably yes, since you know the skills from your mates and you learn together how the other plays and even what decision he is most likely going to do, another Thing is ypu know der consistency and if they play in a Team or mostly try to go for solo shots
I think a lot of it is consistency. When I’m playing well I feel I’m playing around around high diamond low champ. When I’m off, I’m probably around diamond 1. Sure I get bad teammates, but I also get teammates that make me feel godly.
Believe me or not I went up from Gold 2 to Plat 3 (super close to Diamond) 3 days after watching the video. I started understanding how trusting your teammate matters so I found someone and we learned how to play with each other. We did not lose a single game until plat 3 because we were just way worse than your opponents mechanically. Overall, find someone to play with you will thank me later on.

I enjoyed playing with him until he started screaming and got toxic in vc… where’d you find your tm8 because I really want to find a wholesome tm8 but that isn’t like 10. Honestly, that first game where the Gold player said he keeps up with Diamond players just made me lol so hard. I'm D2 and I am confident I could 1v2 those Golds. They were both just so incredibly slow getting to the ball. But maybe it's because I actually deserve to be Champ.😂
I Hate when players blame their teammates, just because if you really think you're so good you honestly should have the ability to carry, no matter how bad your teammate is.
Fantastic video, for someone who has stayed in gc for a while I understand what he means about consistency. After taking breaks or even during placements I tend to fall down to c2 but once the ranks go back to normal I end up bouncing back up. Consistency is key.❤️
Cool video and editing. I must say that I´ve never thought to deserve a higher rank in RL. Mainly bc achieving C1-C2 playing with just 1 hand on a xbox one controller, considering the few hours I get to play now too. Once we "know" how to play with random ppl, the main thing to improve from ourselves is consistency, that's what makes the difference and that requires time, precious time.
these types of videos are great. So many in this community blaims their teammates. I would guesss they never looked at their own gameplay. You get nowhere with a big ego, but you get somewhere if you can learn from your mistakes and play as a team.
amazing video man. keep up the great work. i have watched this channel since lockdown but never really took it to heart, but after this video i will stop blaming my team8's and work on consistency
This is funny from the perspective of a hoops main. Back when I was champs in hoops, getting GC from other modes or the occasional SSL was WAY more common than getting people who were only champ in other modes. I'm curious how the average diamond hoops main for example would pair against a champ lobby in doubles.
You should do one of these but with players that think they deserve a lower rank than what they have. More uplifting watching some prove to themself that they deserve that rank.
Highly entertaining brotherman! Love these vids, KEEP IT UP! Also I kinda wanna do this against ssl's, I'm a gc3 of 3 seasons straight but I think I got dis :)
Up until very recently I just blamed teammates. I'm in champ and to be fair I'd usually get MVP on my team. However much I felt I was doing I wasn't backing up my teammates properly, being ready for whiffs, etc. Now I plan for the worst case scenario. If you plan for the worst there's not much of an excuse for getting scored on anymore. Total responsibility will change the way you play for the better.
I don’t think enough has been looked into the struggles of solo queuing. I’d like to see some people that only play in a known team try do only do solo queuing
@@chrimony yet most videos people put out are in teams. I think there is a skill difference ( good and bad) between players that play in teams compared to those who solo queue.
@@vhwft its all about the synergy to be honest.. if i play 2's... its exclusively with the same person so we know each others playstyles and abilities.. 3s is harder if we get a random.. because we are used to playing our game and adding a 3rd we arent able to communicate with is rough.. especially if theyre more mechanically minded as opposed to rotational.. but if they stay after game 1 (win or lose) the second is usually far better as we can all adapt and learn from the 1st game. completely solo queing sucks though
@@Rhyoshi1630 I agree. That is my point. Playing 2 with the same person all the time gives you good team play with each other. But trying to play on your own 100% in 2s and 3s with random teammates while still trying to progress is a different skill set on its own. Trying to identify and compliment your teammates play style as fast as you can each round makes for a truely unique experience
As for playing while being recorded, the nerves are real. My high school was a little odd and had an esports club where we would compete with schools in the area, in fact the are thinking of turning it into an actual sport for the school. When going to the matches i always had nerves set in and it reflected in my gameplay (for close matchups they would stream on twitch). Funny part is that when i got home after losing a match id be able to go on a decent win streak in ranked. For the players in this vid to play as well as they did while being recorded, regardless of what their ranks should be, props to them.
I think i deserve to be a plat. I'm a diamond but my mechanics are really shitty and my teammates are just always carrying me. Im the teammate the other people are talking about when they say they could be a higher rank but their teammates are shit!!
A video idea: you should do the same thing you’re doing in this vid but make it a beat out of three so that both teams can try to understand each others play style while also playing and you can still win if ur losing the first game
I wish too as I'm more then 100% sure I deserve a higher rank it's just that that is all done on NA servers and I am in EU. I hope they do an EU version
I knew diamond vs champ was gonna be a letdown for the diamonds because the difference between diamond and champ is bigger than diamonds think. You have to be much more accurate with your shots, faster to the ball, way better at defending those accurate shots. If you deserve champ you’ll easily be able to carry in diamond
@Clooxi it’s not about how badly you lose it’s about whether or not you lose. Barely not winning doesn’t mean you deserved to win lol. If they barely lose 55% of their games in diamond they won’t hit champ.
I'm the most efficient D2 but I'll be stuck until my teammates can figure out how to play with me. It's always hit or miss if they can understand my dynamic rotations. I also would never succumb to pressure of being recorded, that's dumb
A big issue can be toxicity too which likely isn’t captured as well when these people are paired up for a TH-cam video. You can have the skill and knowledge to rank up but if you’re toxic to your teammate then that’s a huge setback.
I never usually blame my teammates, because I know there intentions are good. they want to win just as much as I do but of course we are human and make silly mistakes. So unless my teammate(s) are trying on purpose to throw ..I just blame myself.
I was heart stuck at diamond one and couldn’t really work well with teammates that I couldn’t communicate with because parental controls stop me from using voice chat, so when I played with my other gold three friends who I could call, I got all the way up to diamonds with him
I really would like to see more of this content and it would be cool if I had a chance to prove me and my buddy deserve ssl. Christmas is right around the corner !!
Theres a pretty easy explanation for why Mattdog is still in plat. The people who think the only reason theyre down is bad teammates 100% throw when they think they have one. Id bet a paycheck its the case with him. Clearly he's a decent player, maybe not Diamond 2, but decent.
I have 730 hours on Rocket League and if I had any advice for these people it would either be trust the process, work on your training, or find some friends or discord people to play with, that is honestly what helped me get to where I am.

In all honesty there definitely are people who deserve a higher rank, I feel like I’m one of them, never have had a consistent 2s partner and I’ve been in Diamond for 3 years, hit champ once and held it for a while but solo Q in almost every game and get inconsistent teammates
You cant judge the lower ranks preformance off of 1 game, they said it themselves. If u wanna get an accurate rank for them have them 2v2 the rank above not just once but 4 or 3 times and get their win/loss ratio...
Diamond to champ 2-3 is a HUGE jump, if youre diamond you have to work on aerials and challenging and proper positioning, also you can no longer be really slow as youll get challenged too fast, you dont need flip resets or crazy high skill moves but you need high consistency and on the backboard very good defense and most of all CLEARS clearing the ball to alleviate pressure is a game changer, if youre stuck in diamond its most certainly not your teammates its an element of the game you are not doing right
I think a better way to compare is not by if they win but if a different person of the same rank as them goes against the higher rank as a control group.
i think you should pair people who blame their teammates with absolute higher players that act like they are the same rank and if they blame it on the grandchamps as diamond player it would be obviously funny

I feel the same for mattdog, man I liked rocket league but playing ranked without playing with friends is the worst mistake you can do as a gold down.
Even in Plat, playing with randoms hurts
It's worse in the champion ranks. Especially 3v3 where every games there is at least 1 kid that is grand champion in the lobby

Lmao, that's actually hilarious😂
This was pretty cool. As a Gc1 player (who doesnt think he deservers a higher rank with his current skills) I saw some pretty interesting issues but actually some realistic reasons for people to deserve a higher rank even if they blamed their mates. I think in Champ you can see that the best bc there are good champs that hit pretty much everything and the "problem champs" that wiff way to many times and hold those good champs back

@@cl4ka_keyrox ofc thats why it took me so long to get to Gc
At the end of the day though you shouldn’t always be getting paired with one or the other. You might fluctuate 2-3 ranks at times cus of teammates.
@@cl4ka_keyrox Carry means two things. What I've found is below c3, you need to have solid defense, not amazing attacking in order to win. After that, everyone can defend pretty well so you're able to hit crazier shots and riskier plays.
10:42 where's that sound clip from? The "hello brother".
I think blexer vexer definitely deserves a higher rank, his team kinda sold often and left him alone on defense. his mechs are pretty good it's just hard to solo against 2 players of your own rank

I could literally watch these type of videos all day. It’s perfect for a series each season ❤❤❤❤
Been stuck at C3 for a few years. Highest I’ve gotten is C3 Div 4.
I wouldn’t say I deserve GC but I only play 3’s solo que.
I may be the problem but wonder if having the same teammates I could anticipate each round would help me make that last jump.
Probably yes, since you know the skills from your mates and you learn together how the other plays and even what decision he is most likely going to do, another Thing is ypu know der consistency and if they play in a Team or mostly try to go for solo shots
few years wth
Damn deranking on rank 3 division 4 is the most hurtful feeling ever and I've only experienced it 2 times
Maybe try some ones? 3s leads to a lack of self improvement I've noticed
Overall, find someone to play with you will thank me later on.
already did, eventually after 2 weeks he started screaming and screaming I can’t aerial and I suck. (He was like 13). And then when he made a mistake he was like “yo that was way too high for me to save” when it was 2 cenimeters above the ground. I enjoyed playing with him until he started screaming and got toxic in vc… where’d you find your tm8 because I really want to find a wholesome tm8 but that isn’t like 10. I'm d2 but when I play with my c1 friend he tells me I deserve plat 2 at most 💀 and he isn't wrong tbh
Fantastic video, for someone who has stayed in gc for a while I understand what he means about consistency. After taking breaks or even during placements I tend to fall down to c2 but once the ranks go back to normal I end up bouncing back up. Consistency is key.❤️

“I feel like my teammates don’t know how to rotate and do basic mechanics”
That’s literally just champ 3 in a nutshell
Cool video and editing. I must say that I´ve never thought to deserve a higher rank in RL. Mainly bc achieving C1-C2 playing with just 1 hand on a xbox one controller, considering the few hours I get to play now too. Once we "know" how to play with random ppl, the main thing to improve from ourselves is consistency, that's what makes the difference and that requires time, precious time.
I always love these vids love the content CBell keep it up you're going to get 1 mil
I was one of this players thinking deserve another rank but now that i am in that rank i just think i was noy good enough, good video
I noticed when the champs played against the GCs they didn't pick up small pads. Little things make a difference!
these types of videos are great.
Reaching c1 just a couple of months ago makes me realize how big the skill gap is between champ and gc
its the same between gc and ssl hahaha
I’m so happy CBells bringing this series back 🙏🏽
You should do one of these but with players that think they deserve a lower rank than what they have. More uplifting watching some prove to themself that they deserve that rank.

If you're teammate can't finish goals you're gonna lose. Can't play back all the time and expect to win. Just play goalie in that case.

I don’t think enough has been looked into the struggles of solo queuing. I’d like to see some people that only play in a known team try do only do solo queuing
I don't have stats, but I'm guessing most people solo queue.
Trying to identify and compliment your teammates play style as fast as you can each round makes for a truely unique experience
i think if they just came in with a gd mindset into their ranked sessions and to their tm8s they'll rank up
As for playing while being recorded, the nerves are real.
14:40 Or you are a grandchamp+ watching this video with nostalgia remembering what it’s like to be all these ranks 🍞
The only thing I blame my teammates for is not watching the goal and seeing if it’s open. I usually just stay back and have ways to bounce back to it

I think i deserve to be a plat. I'm a diamond but my mechanics are really shitty and my teammates are just always carrying me. Im the teammate the other people are talking about when they say they could be a higher rank but their teammates are shit!!
8:54 What decal is Kytocx using? Looks fire, i could use it
A video idea: you should do the same thing you’re doing in this vid but make it a beat out of three so that both teams can try to understand each others play style while also playing and you can still win if ur losing the first game
Not how it works if you’re solo queueing. Realistically this is how it should be
i wish i had the chance to prove myself and see what i deserve for real (even if its lower than my actual rank)

If they barely lose 55% of their games in diamond they won’t hit champ.
i looooooooved that you gave mattdog a really nice present
I'm the most efficient D2 but I'll be stuck until my teammates can figure out how to play with me. It's always hit or miss if they can understand my dynamic rotations. I also would never succumb to pressure of being recorded, that's dumb
I can prove it... in silver, can half flip, air dribble (sometimes), wave dash side and forward.
💀
A big issue can be toxicity too which likely isn’t captured as well when these people are paired up for a TH-cam video. You can have the skill and knowledge to rank up but if you’re toxic to your teammate then that’s a huge setback.
Seeing Golds speed-flipping as a Diamond who has never speed-flipped, I think I deserve Diamond...
Normally platinums are nowhere near as good as diamonds but Mattdog was insane
At the end , I'm the 2th type of person LOL . From the start , I was a bit surprised to see MattDog playing like a diamond 1 player .
I never usually blame my teammates, because I know there intentions are good. they want to win just as much as I do but of course we are human and make silly mistakes. So unless my teammate(s) are trying on purpose to throw ..I just blame myself.
I was heart stuck at diamond one and couldn’t really work well with teammates that I couldn’t communicate with because parental controls stop me from using voice chat, so when I played with my other gold three friends who I could call, I got all the way up to diamonds with him
subbed right away after you got the kid the drone man, that was an awesome move

Theres a pretty easy explanation for why Mattdog is still in plat.
The people who think the only reason theyre down is bad teammates 100% throw when they think they have one.
Id bet a paycheck its the case with him. Clearly he's a decent player, maybe not Diamond 2, but decent.

You cant judge the lower ranks preformance off of 1 game, they said it themselves. If u wanna get an accurate rank for them have them 2v2 the rank above not just once but 4 or 3 times and get their win/loss ratio...

Diamond to champ 2-3 is a HUGE jump, if youre diamond you have to work on aerials and challenging and proper positioning, also you can no longer be really slow as youll get challenged too fast, you dont need flip resets or crazy high skill moves but you need high consistency and on the backboard very good defense and most of all CLEARS clearing the ball to alleviate pressure is a game changer, if youre stuck in diamond its most certainly not your teammates its an element of the game you are not doing right
what is kytoxcs decal, his car design is so clean
I think a better way to compare is not by if they win but if a different person of the same rank as them goes against the higher rank as a control group.
i think you should pair people who blame their teammates with absolute higher players that act like they are the same rank and if they blame it on the grandchamps as diamond player it would be obviously funny
