On one hand, literally nothing beats the MiG-29 in the head-on (R-27ET), and on the other hand, you got a spicy F-104 with missiles that are extremely hard to defeat in the rear aspect, especially without throttling down, and using the reinforced flares.

yhea sure aim9b and f16 and see if its not the plane im not saying that the pilot is not needed but you need a good plane to do good mig is doing bad becouse it has r60 that get for the single flare you drop unlike the aim9l that they dont go for the first flare you drop if you dont preflare and turn off ab ....

@@sannlivkoto there even harder to flare & Dodge if you use radar lock like a SAHR missile, at least from my experience in flying the F16. In a head to head the Mig will win though with its R27s being a way faster missile.

It is op. That is why east german pilots won against most of nato jets in practice once Germany reunited. Head mounted display gave the east german pilots in their mig 29 a big advantage. There is interesting video on that on youtube. New versions of jets will probably include head mounted display for other nato jets.

When it takes half of your total flares to make 1 aim9L go away... and then they nerf the mig29 airframe... and then they give 9L 30g... then they remove 4k thrust from 29... then remove r73... then USA mains cry that they need fly-by-wire and hmd to beat 29... and then as a result 29 cant even dogfight an f16 which it was made for. I wonder who wins...

the 9l is so weak now or maybe its cause ive been using it on the a10 airframe.. everyone flares once even with AF on and the lock was almost fully rear aspect and the 9l goes for flares instantly
