- This isn't necessarily a "how to" video, but if you follow long, do so at your own risk. Anyways, in this video we do a quick couple-minute fix on a "higher-end" 2007 APC SurgeArrest surge protector. Didn't even have to use the soldering iron!

2007, back when APC was actually good quality. After they were bought out, the quality went to crap...I had over a dozen of their UPS' go up in smoke even at idle or no load (the mosfet for the charging circuit would short out and take a bunch of other components with it). I switched to Tripp-Lite and never had any issues.
