Thanks Will glad you liked it yes that name plate dose need attention thanks for reviewing it the crest on the loco is late crest as when they built westerns after the 1955 modernisation scheme the late crest IE ferret & a dart board came into being on all new diesels thanks again Will let us know if you want an N gauge 9F for future pulling of sweets ;-D
You talked about how expensive it would be to change all your 00 couplers, but do you plan on changing your N scale couplers? That may be a solution to the problem you have with your Class 08... Most of my trains have the standard (Rapido) coupler like yours, and I bought some american models with more realistic couplers, but I also heard of the Profi couplers (but haven't tried it), which may be of interest to you... Although it seems to be quite expensive too.
I always thought Westerns just had 4 wheels on each bogie at first as well lol, wonder how many other people they have fooled lol, but they are awesome locos 😊 my Hornby 00 scale one isn't as detailed but rare & weathered
Review Recomendation: MTH HO 2-8-8-8-2 Triplex or 4-6-6-4 Challanger... Thank Me Later... i got both for my HO collection. Whichever you get would possibly be your most exciting (and expensice engine yet... Although MTH's Products you would have to import... I would recomend taking 5 minutes out of your day just to take a browse through the most recent HO catologue.. I GAURENTEE you will find something you like... also you would be the first youtuber to properly review an MTH loco... also your reaction (full pf amazement) when you run one on your layout will be PRICELESS!!! DCC sound, smoke units, and remotely controlled couplers, and NEM/NMRA coupler pockets are present on all locos...
She is a beauty, but I wish Dapol and Graham Parish would install the Kadee couplers with their new products so we wouldn't have to do it ourselves. Really, the Rapido couplers are so old hat compared to the Kadee couplers. Every N scale and HO/OO scale locos and rolling stock should be produced with Kadee couplers. They are simply the BEST.
SeaToby11So much fuss over useless sprung buffers, when a better coupler for running operations and overall performance is available, something which really does matter. In fact most of the American N scale manufacturers have switched to Kadee style couplers, why not the British manufacturers?
SeaToby11 Because then everything that has come before will have obsolete couplers and imaging the cost of rebuilding a entire fleet of stock and engines
They don't cost any more than changing a large fleet of Hornby large couplers to the new NEM Hornby small couplers. Besides Kadee produces their couplers for NEM. Just about every American modeler who takes this hobby seriously have converted, large fleet or not. It is the best investment a modeler can make to really improve the performance and operations of their gains. Why anyone would settle for less is beyond me, no matter the cost.
Even Bachmann US is using similar couplers today, except for the Acela train set using couplers just for that train set similar to the Eurostar train set, the EMUs or DMUs, N scale as well as HO scale. While you will find old Rapido N scale couplers in the marketplace, all US manufacturers have moved on to Kadee type couplers with locos and rolling stock.
Love these locos, seen two of these beasts and they sound great
Couldn't agree more! - The days when they stormed the West Country will never be forgotten!
A really great looking loco that runs amazing well, as shown when pulling the mini-Mars wagons.
Great video. Really nice loco.
Great review Will well done.
There was one at the NRM when the great gathering was on

This is a cool loco!
Would you say it could share the same chassis as the 66? I'm thinking length.
6:54 those are replacement couplers

Interesting that you've never done the Hornby ScotRail 156 - you'd have a field day with that thing, and the video would be hillarious. XD

SeaToby11 Do they look and work the same as the current couplers though..?
Because I have no N gauge Locos I predominantly run 00

And cool
I bet people will get this review and the 00 gauge review mixed up being the same color
There is a slight size difference compared to Will's hand and the N gauge uses different couplers.
iv bine hier 2013
Haha its so small ;) :D

The class 52 is ugly opinion
