Maybe it's just because I'm a flower nerd, but I would looooove a tour of your tulip forcing space! (If I was local to you which I most definitely am not). I feel like everyone knows what rows of field grown flowers look like, but winter forced tulips are a bit niche and other people might be really interested to see it in practice too
Thank you for this encouragement. I actually asked customers on Sunday if they'd like a tour and most of them were super excited! So we'll do one of my basement lol!
Last summer I brought $10 bouquets with me to a farmer’s market as I was running low on plants to sell. I did not sell all 5 of them first day. By the end of 3rd week I was at 7-10 bouquets. Sold out each time including individual glad stems. I had one loyal customer and sold out within the first hour. One woman was interested in flowers for Oct but I only had flowers til end of Aug. Cost of my flowers was $1 for 40 glad bulbs. All the flowers were from my perennial garden. I built goodwill at that rural farmer’s market. I attended another farmer’s market in the city and those customers were not as enthusiastic. There was already a well established flower seller there and she had 10 plus years of loyalty. Building goodwill and loyalty there will take all of this year.
Totally agree- some famers says it takes them consecutive years to build that loyal following. Truly one of those, put in the work and you can reap the benefits :)
I sell flowers now but my life career is as a custom jeweler (with a degree in economics). I was able to put the principles I learned in business classes to work. Yes, a new customer costs many times as much to gain as a current customer is to retain. And price loyalty is no loyalty at all. And price, service, quality; pick any two. I think your advice is helpful.
Great video, Jesse. I appreciate you sharing your insights and I'm excited to put these ideas into practice! I'm going into my 2nd year of flower farming. Thanks! 🥰
Some great ideas. Can't wait for the Patreon video!
This was an incredibly helpful series- thank you very much!
I'm so glad to hear this!

I appreciate this insight and presentation ❤
Thanks Jessie 👏🏻loved the phycology bit the most it was really interesting 🧐 🌸
Agreed! The psychology stuff is so fascinating!
Absolutely. Too many people chase after new customers at the expense of loyal customers. Loyal customers can become un-loyal if they feel overlooked.
100% to this!

Thank you! I like this- pick any two of the 3, I totally agree.

Yay! I hope they help you in year 2 :)
I've watched this video I want to cry it seems so complicated
What part feels complicated if you don't mind me asking?
You might want to put the camera 12 inches above eye level pointing down to stop the distortion.
