Well, is pretty impressive how big is the difference with gamestop in Italy. I've always received my consoles in boxes (still gamestop branded tho) with proper division inside to separate and makes the various components still and safe. For example never had scratches on glossy parts.

I never rely on the little rubber feet on the bottom of the PS4 or any game console that I own I always have them elevated on little blocks of wood which improves air circulation and mine certainly runs a lot cooler and I just spray painted the blocks of wood black.
Might try to clean the disc drive rollers like some comments have suggested and hopefully that'll get that disc drive running smoothly. I dont think GameStop should be sending 'em out like that though
I think the disc drive is meant to go that slow, but maybe not. It's the second model and I don't know much about the model. What I know is that the first model of the ps4 pro had a slow disc drive and that the last model was a quick disc drive. So, comparing the ps4 pros doesn't do much since if your personal ps4 is the latest model then comparing isn't too much help. I hope this help ya!
If you want to keep one for yourself and keep it running good. Then put Grizzly Thermal Paste or Artic Silver 5 and Grizzly Pads or Artic Cool Thermal Pads. I use 1.5mm and they keep low temps no more jet engine fans
I can almost guarantee the rollers are dirty and that is why it’s sucking in the disc slowly as the rollers are slipping a bit when trying to grab and pull on the disc

At my work we package stuff and load them in a trailer and to give a possible explanation on why you got such a big box they either didn’t have a smaller one that would fit a ps4 in it or they didn’t have any present I always feel bad when I send out bigger boxes like this😂

I got a cable for the dualsense with my console, dont know if they ship the cable with the standalone controller. If not it's just a USB c cable which are very cheap to buy and most if not all of them will work for pc. It is kinda sad that ps now and remote play dont work with Bluetooth controllers. If they did you wouldn't need to plug in the cablr
The ps4 has some plastic rolers to pull in the disk when they are dirty they are much slower and sometimes can even blow a fuse and stop pulling in and out the disk, what a garbage product from gamestop, they should give this consoles some maintenance before selling them, but nah they just try to turn them on and sell them, they probably also overheat couse if they have a lot of dust is sign that thermal paste has never been changed and they havent removed the dust from the heatsink, for that much money i would hope a ps4 working as new and without that much scratches honestly, if i had a shop i would be ashemed of selling a console in that condition

Most the time when people trade in limited edition consoles they will not have the original controller either because it broke or then wanted to keep it and GameStop will just send it to the warehouse and not even say in the listing my not include original controller 🙄
I expect a console that's working properly... GameStop should not be sending out consoles with dirty disc drive rollers, and even worse, they should not be sending a special edition console with accessories scratching up the glossy part... So yes I 100% expected it to be used of course, but there are a few additional steps GameStop should be taking for these to be in sellable condition.

Tempted to buy his PS4 which I'm sure is in just as great condition.
As a gamestop employee, i can say i’m not a fan of our packing method, however those stickers on the side indicate that they were sent from a store location not a warehouse. basically it just means we took it in trade, 99% of consols we have never get shipped out so we don’t include packing paper or anything in the box because 99% of the time it just sits on a shelf until someone buys it physically. definitely think it could be better though.
+ The second console 100% was sent from warehouse, when we take something in store we never put it in a cardboard box(should i never been sent like that regardless), it’s always put in a playstation pre owned box when taken from a store.

I just feel bad for the limited editions ps4/ps4 slim and ps4 pro's out there not being treated with care. I would atleast thought they would work great but it's always the other way around always broken somehow.
Man that is terrible! I recently sold a PS4 on eBay and I used 2 X rolls of bubble wrap and 1x roll of wrapping paper and was still worried I coulda used more, so glad we don't have GameStop in the uk. We have cex and they actually have fair prices compared to them.
If you want to clean really dirty controllers with some hard to reach spots take em apart and do a deep clean, you can also try problem shooting while cleaning.

I bought a PS4 slim from GameStop that was in pristine condition (black console with a blue v2 controller). I purchased it in the store though. Only issue is that I feel like I overpaid…..
Be careful of the Power connector under the board if you ever take them apart to change thermal pads or thermal paste. Easy to rip connector from board. Grab the solid white piece with tweezers or needle nose pliers not the offwhite part and wiggle gently side to side to loosen.

I traded in my PS4 and they don’t even hook it up to a TV to check if anything’s wrong when powering it on. They just test that it DOES turn on and that’s good enough to get credit. I guess if there’s other issues they’ll deal with it on their end.

For the top part lifting off, you pull up on the two front sides {the Sony and PS4 logo} and it lifts off if you need to clean the fan or take apart the console
I got a pre owned PS4 pro gow edition last month and it was really nice, they used the green air bubbles or whatever you call them, and console was really in good edition

The ps4 disc drive gears are usually not the issue it’s the rubber rollers that suck the disc in might just need to be cleaned

I got lucky on my PS4 Pro system, I got mine during the "pandemic" and just had a bad HD. So I ordered a 2tb one to replace it.
