  • 2018 BMW G310R review and test ride is my honest unbiased opinion of BMW smallest motorcycle. A perfect city commuter that get get you from point A to point B, through rush hour traffic, in no time. It is a small little power house easy to ride and maneuver in an out of traffic, you won't get stuck behind car as filtering is effortless due to the small light for factor. Engine is what you would expect from this 313cc single cylinder power train. Although for a 310 delivering 34.6 BHP it does surprisingly well to keep up with city traffic, enough to even fo the short express or motorway. All in all a cheeky little BMW with a sporty attitude, perfect for the rookie rider and city commuter that would rather prefer a motorcycle over a scooter. Enjoy the video!

    I have yet to see a negative review on this bike. I love your review, went over many things. Love it. I rode dirt bikes as a kid, but I am looking for a beginner bike as well as a town/city commuter. I do believe I found it! And you cannot beat the price tag

    Actually, the mirror has a problem of seeing traffic right aside you. I have owned this bike for 1 year already, it led a few dangers situations to me when I was trying to change my lane. I'm a careful driver though, but it just have that blind area.

    Rode one Sept. 20, 2018 at my local dealership. It's a fun mini-bike. Reminds me of my old 70s Honda days when I was 13. The bike could be a good short range commuter and a great little bike to take out for an hour when the need for fun beckons.

    Its just boggles me why they didn’t put a 400cc engine or even better a 500cc. They have a winner but here fierce enemy is the duke 390. I love the looks of this little beemer more as its more mature like but i wish it had 10hp more.

      @@0to100Adventure Don't think Honda are bringing the CB300R to South Africa. I've been waiting for it but they've pulled most of their low CC bikes from the country (Grom etc.). I'm only interested in this G310R because it's the closest equivalent to the Honda CB300R. If they do bring some in I'm definitely interested. Hope the review happens @Honda Motor Southern Africa
      EDIT: Just saw the entire video and realised 0 to 100 isn't based in South Africa after all.

    Not good for long ride? ... you're joking right? It seems that you're not a biker if you say such things.... my brother have Honda CB125 (~14 Horses) and he was in Mongolia with this thing lol .. Mud (Russia) ,- no big deal.. Sand (at Gobi Desert),- again no big deal for light weight 125ish bikes (by the way most of the locals had the 125s), meanwhile the BMW g1200 (and similar) have no chances. Because his road-trip comrades had such machines . All of them failed !!!! They all preferred asphalt lol and got nervous when they hit some deeper sand 🤣😂😆.. The BMW 310 is not good for long trips you say? .😒 Oh f**k off with this horse shit story !

    • @0to100Adventure

      Personally I would not choose this bike for touring the world, as with most bikers, this is my opinion. I would rather choose a bigger displacement engine for this for the open roads of +1000km per day. This being said I am sure that you could travel the world on this bike and have lots of fun doing it I never said you could not do that if you so choose. Cheers and stay safe!

    • @nordwind8689
      @nordwind8689 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@0to100Adventure Look .The point is how it feels like to ride those machines!!!!. Long range capabilities "own opinion"is absolutely Irrelevant for a Bike review by a Biker. That's bullshit if you doing so.. Such kind of statements are against "our Philosophy" Law of the Universe , if I can say so.,😁 Absolute all machines are good enough for long travel .. Even cheapest Bicycle with cheapest 50cc motor (or E-motor) on it.

      That is right and I don’t disagree...I try to to this but you must understand that how the bike feels is also an opinion that others might disagree with....these reviews are always subjective and based on personal feelings and taste. The review serves as general information for bikers to review and either agree that it is good or bad for themselves based on their own preferences....some agree and others not...I am okay with that! Good review. Having owned one for close on a year and with just over 6000 km covered I can also confirm positive comments made in this review. Definately a fun bike to ride, so much so that the other bigger bike's often get left in the garage. Magic around the twisties here in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
    A little under geared for my extended highway rides so have plans to up the overall gearing by about 5% which it should be able to handle given the noticeable power gain from the full Akropovic system fitted. MRA screen also a worthwhile addition although it was not that uncomfortable in standard naked trim at cruising speeds of up to 120 km/h.
    Cheers all and ride safe.

    If a bike is made in India ,that doesn't means the quality gonna be compromised. BMW motorrad needs the Indian market for churning out profits from these kind of smaller displacement bikes.
