I have seen both and the twists they delivered were shocking. Sure, I noticed the hints beforehand, but those didn't soften the shock one bit. Both are underrated in the animation genre.
I think the perception that Coraline is super scary has caused people to avoid it. And I gotta be honest... I don't think it's scary. At all. Not even all that unsettling. Then again, fear is entirely subjective. But I think the internet has built up Coraline to be scarier than it actually is.
It's amazing how Coraline is such an iconic film, Yet not too many people seem to talk about it anymore in terms of movie review and analysis videos. But at least people are still watching it which is good enough!
I never pegged the "Frozen Heart" metaphor before, but it seems more obvious now. Also, Hans sings "You" and Anna completes "And I", signifying how their relationship is mostly about Anna.
"My own place" referred to Arundelle, which Hans was gesturing to. Note during the synchronisation sequence, and forming the love heart, Hans is behind with his motions. In other words, he's not "in sync", he's not "in love" and his awkward acting show he is not who he appears to be. "Say Goodbye to the pain of the past" - was actually aimed at Hans as he was using Anna to erase his past as his 12 older brothers (quite rightly as it turned out) treated him like a bad egg. The line before the song is, "I will never shut you out..." What does Hans do? Tries to execute Anna by locking her IN a room to die.
The final thing - "Love is an Open Door". What did Elsa have to do to control her power? Unfreeze her heart, and open it, letting her power and her true feelings for her little sister free!
Here’s something about the Atlantis twist: there as a little exchange between Helga and Rourke when they entered Atlantis that some may have missed, where Helga informs him about people living in the lost city, saying “this changes everything”, in which Rourke replies with “this changes nothing.” I actually missed this on my first viewing, and I wonder if anyone else actually noticed that this foreshadows the upcoming betrayal.
Missed One: In Madagascar, Marty says “This could be the best thing that’s ever happened to us”. Alex denies that hard. However, in Madagascar 3, when they return to the zoo, Alex says “Leaving the zoo, was the best thing that ever happened to us.”.
That is accurate, Coraline may be targeted at kids, but it’s in no way meant for sensitive or any kids at all. Some scenes will raise parent’s eyebrows all the same.
FACTS. Not that I’m into shielding kids from media, but even I had to admit this is one I’d prefer to wait to let most children watch, depending on their comfort level. But I’m also a weirdo who loves many weird, macabre things that still have a sense of whimsy, so Coraline is right up my alley.
“Amphibia” had a lot of foreshadowings throughout the season trilogy when it comes to loose an eye or arm, missing one shoe, and dialogues that we did not see it coming. I love how they show elements that create the entire story arc.
11:39 At least there was no romance between Wilbur and his young mother, unlike another famous movie about a boy who traveled through time and his young mother fell in love with him.
The fact the color foreshadowing of Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse isn't even on this list is insane! Who could've guessed we've been teasing one of the biggest plot twists in animation five years ago?
Also in WALL-E when you see the pictures of Autopilot with the Captain, the Autopilot gets closer and closer to the centre of the frame with each photo, foreshadowing that Autopilot has grown more powerful and is going to supplant the current Captain entirely, which is his eventual end goal, only stumbling at the last second. In Megmind Minion fakes his death in the intro. foreshadowing that he will be alive after Hal has been defeated, even though we think he's dead. Maybe it even foreshadows Metro Man faking his death
Like when Dr. Filias says you just wanna be free hop from place to place and also it’s the green it’s the green it’s the green you need and when I look into your future it’s the green that I see. That’s for shadowing that he is going to be turned into a frog and hop from place to place.
There's also the fact that Han's and Kristoff's body language is different towards Anna. While Hans creeps up on her, not maintaining eye contact, Kristoff picks her up from her front, not her back, and maintains eye contact while doing so.
End the song the other father sings was also foreshadowing the other mother's true intentions what he says she's as cute as a button in the eyes of everyone and our eyes will be on Coraline he was trying to warn her
There is a theory going around that Syndrome made Edna make his suit and that she knew or had at least an idea of him being responsible for the death of all the superheroes so she attached purposely a cape to his suit
I don't know if forshadow in sequels count, but I wish they discussed Reverse-Flash's appearance in Suicide Squad Hell to Pay after he got shot in The Flashpoint Paradox
Yeah, Edna Mode showed real good reasons why super heroes should not ware capes, too bad Syndrome never learned about the flaws of being a hero and villain.
What about the camera panning towards Bridgette after Gristle’s conversation that he won’t be able to be happy since the Trolls escaped in the first Trolls movie?Or also, Gru telling Lucy on their first mission that the Cantina owner looked a lot like an old deceased villain Gru knew and after Lucy told him that El Macho sounds a little dead,Gru told her that they never found his body in Despicable Me 2.
My favorite "Coraline" Easter Egg is the writing on the cake "Welcome Home." The 'o' in Welcome is closed but there is a double loop on the 'o' in home. According to Graphology, a double loop on a lower case O means that the person who wrote it is lying. There is only one double loop, meaning she is welcome but she is not home
Tarzan has 1 scene where Kerchak and Kalas son is about 2 chase a chameleon but is stopped by Kerchak. Then the following nkght he's not lucky when he chases a frog then chased and killed by Sabor the leopard. That was a bit of foreshadowing i never noticed until now.
Water nooses speech to Sully. During their talk while he's getting coffee, he says the company's been in the family for 3 generations and would do anything to keep it from going under. As the company's head he would stick to his word, but we'd never know how far he'd go until the scream extractor.
The foreshadowing in "How to Train Your Dragon 2" about the Night Fury being almost extinct. When Valka is petting Toothless in her sanctuary, she states "he very well may be the last of his kind!" In the third film, it's revealed that Grimmel has hunted down every Night Fury besides Toothless. This is very deliberate, as in a promo clip of the same scene from HTTYD2, Valka originally says "I've never seen a Night Fury this close." They had to change it in the final film to avoid confusion in THW.
Another forshadowing in puss in boots is death having a pressence everywhere From the watching crowed in the intro fight you see him in a quick or miss it moment hiding in the shadows And when puss recount his deaths (pun not intended) in the cutaway cards you see death on the edges of each card
The foreshadowing that made me surprised and blew my mind is cloudy with a chance a meatballs 2 is that Chester v was the villain because getting flints invention was a hacking device After in the middle manny witnessed on his camera that is Live corp and it turns out it was actually the word evil spell backwards.
Another example of foreshadowing in 3 is that rouke casually comments that the book had nice picture but prefers a good western and when milo mentions a page being missing like someone ripped said page out, indicates that rouke did it to hide that he and the others were after the heart of atlantis.
You missed out on the animated movie 9. During the movie the ruling Stitchpunk 1 tells the group that he sent 2 out expecting him to die saying: “Sometimes one must be sacrificed for the good of many.” as he saw 2 as weak. Cut to towards the end of the movie where 1 realizes the errors of his ways and pushes 9 out of the way of an attack, getting his own soul sucked out, paying off the saying: “Sometimes 1 must be sacrificed for the good of many.”
If I were you guys, I'd replace the Frozen Heart with Jim Hawkins' solar-surfing skills in the underrated Disney masterpiece, Treasure Planet. But as usual, you went with the obvious popular choice instead of the better and more deserving one for biased reasons. I've already explained that in great detail in the Top 20 Uses of Foreshadowing in Disney Movies list, so I'm not gonna repeat it here. Go check it out, if you haven't.
I feel like ASTV's Earth 42 reveal should have been in the top 3. Literally, it was foreshadowed at the VERY START of ISTV, along with Spider-42 glitching when Miles checked it out
There's Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death. Before, Gromit discovers that Piella is the serial killer, there is a foreshadowing: she explains to Wallace that her brakes failed and when Gromit tests her bike, the brakes were working fine.
Transformers The Movie after Optimus Prime dies, he drops the Matrix of Leadership, but Hot Rod catches then the Matrix lights up meanwhile Unicron sees this and starts to growl foreshadows how Hot Rod opens the Matrix and becomes Rodimus Prime
In Sing 2, there's a bit of foreshadowing on the wolf Jimmy Crystal. He seems like a very nice guy at first, but with critical tactics, we can see that he's not as nice as he appears to be.
I am going to list one that remains currently theoretical. So before I put it down let me give some context. In One Piece as people know there exists the mystery Gatcha item's DEVIL Fruit. On top of that it needs to be pointed out that Luffy made the NEED for a MUSICIAN on his crew known at least twice before Brook joins. Now for the Foreshadow as I understand it. The Music of Uta from Film Red. Its both revealing for the film itself and clearly defines our Musician of the movie and the very personal head space they are currently in... meaning that the darker songs make plain what was already seen from the happier ones still having to much "control freak" energy; but on the grander scale that is the series at large Film Red can be seen through her songs as pointing out how OP music was in the past and possible future. So before you question the validity of this idea; remember the history of Tot Musica in the movie one of Uta's song is called Tot Musica... oh and as a side note almost Ado the singing voice at least for Uta has a certain fan fave on the movie collection not in the movie proper... Binks' Sake. I believe whats being foretold is that the real identity of Black Beard's inate ability (what makes him feel off to others; prompting a sense of them instead of him when referring to BB) is that he houses Tot Musica and his OG DF was in fact a version of Utas own. Thats why he has never slept; why dreams are a focus of his. Because Utas songs apply to his past we do not know also.
A another one from coralline is when the other mother said that the other father was “hungry as a pumpkin” and when coralline came to get the first lost child’s eye the other father was a pumpkin 😮
The only ones to not sing We Don’t Talk About Bruno are Mirabel’s parents, Luisa, Antonio, and of course Bruno They sing about Bruno because they found a loophole in the family’s rules They were like “Are trying to get us to talk about Bruno? Cuz we’ll gladly do so… in song form!!”
isnt the hint in the bad guys just all of the animals are / were "bad guys"? reporters, police many others are human the henchmen is human but he's not a thief

More people should see Coraline and Atlantis: The Lost Empire. They’re hidden gems in the long list of animated movies
Don't forget Treasure Planet. It's another Disney gem that came out a year after Atlantis.
I have seen both and the twists they delivered were shocking. Sure, I noticed the hints beforehand, but those didn't soften the shock one bit. Both are underrated in the animation genre.
I watched Treasure planet and Atlantis
I think the perception that Coraline is super scary has caused people to avoid it.
And I gotta be honest... I don't think it's scary. At all. Not even all that unsettling.
Then again, fear is entirely subjective. But I think the internet has built up Coraline to be scarier than it actually is.
@@OtterloopBCoraline is scary.
It's amazing how Coraline is such an iconic film, Yet not too many people seem to talk about it anymore in terms of movie review and analysis videos. But at least people are still watching it which is good enough!
I've seen a bunch of Coraline analysis videos pop up in my feed
Actually there's a lot in TikTok if you only know there's really a bunch of there!
There are tons. One channel made a whole series of videos.
💜Coraline

I noticed that conversation. I also thought ms. Mojo was going to mention how milo was trying to translate the book but felt it was missing pages
Missed One: In Madagascar, Marty says “This could be the best thing that’s ever happened to us”. Alex denies that hard. However, in Madagascar 3, when they return to the zoo, Alex says “Leaving the zoo, was the best thing that ever happened to us.”.
Coraline is still one of those movies that can cause a lot of eyes to open wide, and get some people to ask, “how in the world is this made for kids”

Disney always did a great job at foreshadowing the inevitable, and we still don’t see it coming till the reveal
11:39 At least there was no romance between Wilbur and his young mother, unlike another famous movie about a boy who traveled through time and his young mother fell in love with him.

Agreed, that song had so much foreshadowing. It blew my mind.
There's also the fact that Han's and Kristoff's body language is different towards Anna. While Hans creeps up on her, not maintaining eye contact, Kristoff picks her up from her front, not her back, and maintains eye contact while doing so.
Why No Capes?! Why not “I don’t see anyone from the old days Bob, just you” that to me’s more important
Coraline is one of my favourite animated movies and all the foreshadowing is obvious now
The Coraline cake double O loop meaning someone is lying. She’s welcome but she’s not home.

Yeah, Edna Mode showed real good reasons why super heroes should not ware capes, too bad Syndrome never learned about the flaws of being a hero and villain.
3:13 Her glasses are actually hexagons
Coraline DID give me sleepless nights. A decade’s worth of them
In Coco there's more good ones, like when at the beginning Miguel says something like ' I have to perform at the plaza even if it kills me...'
I would have chosen Death hidden in the crowd at the start of Puss in Boots 2 when he’s laughing at death/acting pompous during the giant fight.
IF you're able to find more foreshadowing in other Disney dreamworks or Pixar movies, will DEFINITELY be HOPING for an eventual part 2 PLEASE 🥺🙏🤞?
Atlantis is one of Disney's most underrated gem!❤
In my case, it'll be Dolores prophecy. Happy sunday afternoon, Phoebe. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
How THE HELL did you leave out WRECK IT RALPH? That movie has THE most brilliant foreshadowing ever done in a Disney movie.

Another forshadowing in puss in boots is death having a pressence everywhere
From the watching crowed in the intro fight you see him in a quick or miss it moment hiding in the shadows
And when puss recount his deaths (pun not intended) in the cutaway cards you see death on the edges of each card
This just made me think I have to watch Atlantis again, I haven't seen it since I was little.
Suprising Fact In Megamind, When Minion hit Hal with the Forgive Me Stick, you would see a Book Hal was reading "Comic Book Supervillains"
Ha! I just started reading through Sense and Sensibility today! 😂 Emma Thompson’s in the movie version and plays someone named Elinor! Like in Brave!
11:42 I liked that scene
The foreshadowing that made me surprised and blew my mind is cloudy with a chance a meatballs 2 is that Chester v was the villain because getting flints invention was a hacking device
After in the middle manny witnessed on his camera that is Live corp and it turns out it was actually the word evil spell backwards.
11:45 oh come on second time seeing that made me realize he had to help his mom
Metalocalypse Army Of The Doomstar (2023) Such a good movie
Another example of foreshadowing in 3 is that rouke casually comments that the book had nice picture but prefers a good western and when milo mentions a page being missing like someone ripped said page out, indicates that rouke did it to hide that he and the others were after the heart of atlantis.

Good choices.

12:04: *oh no, not the bear puns*
In Sing 2, there's a bit of foreshadowing on the wolf Jimmy Crystal. He seems like a very nice guy at first, but with critical tactics, we can see that he's not as nice as he appears to be.

Encanto is peak disney

THATS HIS MOTHER
I mean, over the garden wall I’d dripping in foreshadowing. All of the instances can fill it’s own video lol
You also see Death in the audience watching Puss fight the giant.
Totally forgot about Zootopia. The part where they see Doug’s number on bellwether’s phone ☎️.
The only ones to not sing We Don’t Talk About Bruno are Mirabel’s parents, Luisa, Antonio, and of course Bruno
They sing about Bruno because they found a loophole in the family’s rules
They were like “Are trying to get us to talk about Bruno? Cuz we’ll gladly do so… in song form!!”
The Jungle Book's I Wanna Be Like You foreshadowed Mowgli's mastery over fire and ascension to manhood.
We all came because of Caroline❤

NO CAPES!!
The “Bruno” in the dancing in background of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is Camilo (cuz he’s a shapeshifter)

Great video
Cinderella is my one of my favorite movie
In Coraline the the cake has a double loop and in many cultures that means the person is lying so she was home just not welcome
Also, in Doc Ock’s office you can see the prototype for a mechanical clawed tentacle on a desk in the background
From _Into the Spider-Verse,_ I assume?
@@Jeremiah_Rivers76 ah, yes
no capes
I am a seamstress... NO CAPES!!!
Just because these were _good_ foreshadowing doesn't mean they were _subtle._
The crimson paw one is obvious, everything in that movie is obvious actually
Wilbur meeting Franny isn’t foreshadowing anything, he knew what his parents looked like as kids, HE’S the one from the future.
Interesting
It was even worse for Syndrome, since unlike Stratgale, he went feet first.
If 42 isn’t in here I will sob
Doc oc? Really? 42 was better
Hot Rod catching the matrix in Transformers the movie 86 for me foreshadowing and guessing the matrix can stop unicron.
"Cah-see-tuh"?? No offense, but something that drives some of us Spanish speakers crazy is how some people pronounce Spanish words. Lol.
I watched Atlantis

****NO CAPES!!!!****
The old no cap
C'mon, Octavia's name is clearly just a gender-flipped version of the classic Doc Ock! That's so obvious it shouldn't even count as foreshadowing!
