I remember reading a commet from a Gentleman, that called Sanuces Ryu garbage. I responded, It's easy to call something garbage, when you haven't tested the battlefield ! I had the honor of training with Professor Ferrer, and and sponged so much from that training! Great Pioneers!
For years, they never gave black men in martial arts their credit. They say we lack the speed and intelligence to keep up. Ask Bruce Lee about Vic Moore when he said it himself " you're the fastest American I've ever met ". Now, ask this guy what Soke Lil John Davis did to him,,,,, when he wakes up. Just so you know, Teyari Cassel was a bad dude himself. It took them at that time almost 2 years for them to set that fight up.
As someone that has received some training from OSO Teyari Cassel, I would say that those brothers from NY are the real deal. Back in the day, they actually fought. You had to be tough-minded and know your stuff. I have never met GM Davis, but I wish I could have. I so much respect for these masters and what they teach. Most people don't train this way anymore. As he said, all that metal bending and braking are ok, but can you fight. Much respect to the Sanuces Ryu family.
you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground about martial arts.. this shit is a scam.... it's all fake... he's trying to scam people into signing up for his bullshit internet scam.
@@douthinkb4uspeak595 fighting is just a sport with different rules dumbass... the fighter with the best conditioning and training will win every single time... this tma is nonsense... you should really do YOUR research by going to an mma gym and getting your ass kicked by the least trained guy in on the mat... it's the only way posers like you learn.
This quick clip from this old documentary made so much sense to me as a Young Man and still does today don't talk about it be about it much respect to moses Powell and those who share his lineage.
At 02:32 of the video Tayari Casel (Kung Fu) vs. Little John Davis (Karate) what year was this martial arts tournament aired on ABC 🌍 Wide World Sports the commentator is former NFL player Frank Newton Gifford thank you for the posting.
An Old Lion STILL had teeth and some of us “Old Heads” STILL BITE!!!...Much Respect to my Grandmaster DJ Sias of Greenwood Ms and all of the Pioneers whose shoulders I’ve stood upon and continue to stand upon.....Thank You...
Buddy Rich, "If it had been all-out contact one of these people would've been seriously wiped out!" Yep , and that's why there's weight-classes, rules/restrictions on technique allowed, rounds etc nowadays. It is conceivable to approach a reality-based mindset/skillset in-training , but modern combat sport arts still limit a practitioner in sparring and competition for the very thing Buddy Rich stated. To guys like this the very notion of putting on boxing gloves was most likely ridiculous.
Shut my mouth. That was speechless. Two sleeping sheep of Yisra'el (I'm assuming still asleep) showing the insanely amazing gifts THE MOST HIGH had endowed unto them. If you have any more competition videos of our great masters, please share them in the future.
Those movements were very crisp and clear very nice to have a nice nap to their kicks it look very beautiful but either it wasn't a serious fight or neither one has enough power if they would have been using gloves maybe they would have touched harder or something but it was not bad for entertainment
Back then, and ranging from the comments made by a percussionist with some martial art experience and an ex football player, the judges didn't really know what to look for. Thats been the ongoing prejudice against the so called soft styles. John Khul, the center, should have flagged the blind techniques John was throwing. Both started strong at first. Both missed a lot. Both got fatigued towards the end which happens in those hyped exhibition bouts. Tayari was the better looking fighter in the context of adhering to kung fu execution considering Casell was a former karate practitioner so he understood what was in front of him. Casell was not outpointed. John knew it. Karate people back then were well known for not being as gracious as one would hope in giving a fair assessment of kung fu. If they did, the outcome would have reflected that.
@Vincent Seifert, Respectfully, lineage in this essence refers to those who formulated the below-listed systems. VSK Jujitsu (Grandmaster Abdu Azziz Muhammad aka GM Anthony Muhammad founder of VSK Jujitsu ) and Vee Jitsu Te (Grand Professor Vee), Sanuces Ryu(Dr Moses Powell) and Kumite Ryu (Soke Little John Davis). I’m sure Grandmaster Adderley is a great master.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but this seems more like standard karate technique being used in the tournament and not the VSK I see in the seminars. I would say the techniques I have seen demonstrated on a willing partner are harder to pull off on another skilled opponent such as in the ring. Just an observation and not intended as disrespect in any way. OSU !!!

People should respect all martial arts. I respect all martial arts. I have studied danzan rye jujitsu for several years.
@1:33 He was in the zone...his student came and touched his shoulder and he was ready to give him some work! 😂😂
Only keyboard cowards kick dirt on your system. Y'all are the truth. I'm from BKLYN NY BROWNSVILLE to be exact. These men are dangerous. 🙏🏽🐅

Mike Tyson reminds me alot of the brother at 0:34. I wonder if they are related.
The black man is not just bad, HE IS SUPERBAD! I am glad I did not have to pick a winner! Both true Masters. Props go to both of them! PEACE!
I remember this, 1974- 75? Osu.
are there any representatives of this style fighting in mixed martial arts?
Aw man, you can't expect these dudes to fight on no mixed martial arts. Don't you know that the Arts are for The Streets?
😉
I trained with Little John

Why is grandmaster franklyn Adderley missing from the lineage
@Vincent Seifert,

I’m sure Grandmaster Adderley is a great master.
I sure that was soke little john davis who connected with that spinning wheel kick could someone tell me what year was that and which tournament?
2 masters!
That was pretty much a tie if you add in the fact karate guy was much bigger
OUS!
the first fight's loser looked like Bart Vale... Was it?
He does look like burt vale.
Was it Larry Kelly (RIP)?
That's not Bart Vale; it's Ron Pohnel !
O$U! 4 da Hataz!
Osu!

Their art is a mix.of Karate,Juijitsu,&Boxing.A mixture.
You can't do Japanese Jujitsu full force. You can almost kill a person easy.
STEVEN WILLIAMS , you are correct in that there are rules in the ring and not all techniques are allowed.
@@bladetasticknives5712 When they fight.they use Karate.They.compete in Shotakan.
Brazilian jujitsu and judo.was modified for sport. However graces have been beat by Japanese Jujitsu and judo people before.
john knocked him down 5-6x, the judges are blind.
