I honestly love the trope of 'the most important big bad guy stands silently in the fore/background so you don't realise how important he is til later'.
I used to be like Ziggy. Takes being real with yourself to make serious changes. Change is often slow, gradual. Watching Ziggy is like taking a cold shower.
S2 is another set of 'brother' characters who grew up together but are very different people. Nick is smarter than most in his line of work, but not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. And Ziggy wants to make a name for himself.
@@TheWireUni I appreciate you saying that bro, S2 being my favorite is most def an unpopular opinion tho. Love The Greeks, Slim Charles, Frank, Prop Joe, Chris and Omar tho.
@@DodderingOldMan Facts. This and The Sopranos. I think The Wire is a better show writing and realism wise, but I think The Sopranos is a little more entertaining. And I love Frank too, it fucked me up when I saw them pull his body out of the water.
The Wire is all about people finding out they are not built for the like of work they keep trying to pursue. Some in similiar ways, some in different ways. Stringer Bell, D’Angelo, Ziggy, Naamond, etc
Its about the institutions that prevail over ordinary individuals and fail them while the leaders or the middle men try to keep it together for the sake of the system that feeds them.
Very necessary..we see where the drugs come from and a criminal enterprise drug syndicate is juiced up with the feds… and union corruption ..man season two is my favorite
The Greek = Avon Vondas = stringer 2nd in charge Sergei = weebay the scary muscle that gets locked up Double g = stinkum both killed Nick = dangelo nephews both wanted better life one got witness protection the other one could of had

lol just realized Ziggy was the Orlando of S2
I can understand that comparison. His ending stings more bc of the Father / Son dynamic
Please post more Season 2 We’re Loving This!

Are you Borkos twin? His 47 year old kid brother?

Appreciate you making a playlist out of Season 2's storylines. Every rewatch of The Wire makes me appreciate this season more and more.
Spiros tried really hard to bring Nick into the fold
Yea - nick was smart and subtle. Exactly what he was looking for.
I honestly can't watch Ziggy without cringing

Believe it or not but S2 was probably actually my favorite. Hate me all you want. The Greeks were my favorite crew in the show at the very least.
No one will hate you for saying that bro! A lot of people feel that way... The Greeks storyline is ESSENTIAL to The Wire
@@TheWireUni I appreciate you saying that bro, S2 being my favorite is most def an unpopular opinion tho. Love The Greeks, Slim Charles, Frank, Prop Joe, Chris and Omar tho.
Personally it's my favourite series. The story of Frank Sobotka is IMO the most poignant and eloquent tragedy of the entire show.

I hated 2 originally but now its one of my favorites

Thought the Greeks phase of The Wire was a drag but looking back, I see it was necessary

@@TheShahofBaltimore Exactly. Watching in real time was a struggle but each season is a different piece to the full puzzle. Fcking love the wire
@@BrutusJrThe3rd I loved it from the jump! it was my favorite season! Especially if you loved MÁFIA and Jimmy HOFFAS Teamsters Union!
Exactly! No 'The Greeks' storyline = No 'Stringer/ Prop Joe/ Omar & Br. Mouzone' in Season 3 + No'Marlo/Prop Joe / The Greeks' storyline in Season 4.
@@TheShahofBaltimore forever Jimmy Hoffa lol 🙌🏾
If Nick didn’t take Ziggy to meet the Greeks he would still be alive.
Nicky knew what Ziggy was capable of, Frank too. Zigg didn't understand

The actor playing Ziggy did a great job of being so unbelievably cringy
