  • Is everything predetermined or does a person have complete free will? Are we truly in control of our lives, or is it our spiritual and genetic predispositions?
Find out in this class where we also discuss time travel and the "grandfather paradox", nature vs. nurture, and if there is a "religion gene" that makes some people have more faith.

God found me, I was not seeking him. It took years to wake up. He sent me songs first one was from Shinedown , it goes like this "get up get up get a move on, whats taking so long, its hard to move mountains when your paralised". It was two years later before i acknowledged what i was going through was supernatural, he so through mt roommate saying " This is biblical", my response was" Biblical Biblical , I dont even think there is a God". I seen a tear come down her face, two weeks later someone else said this is biblical I knew nothing about God qnd only had a bible. God did teach me himself but also i read the bible and it messed me up as Jesus is a great deceiver. I had to be shown that in the clouds and it is a hard swollow. I pray God forgives the christians that are Seeking God and pray in J C name. Pray to God Almighty if you dont know what name to use. I call him God. So free will yes but he sure helped me find it. I love him so much God is beautiful and young.

I also was not looking for God when He found me. I didn't know what was happening until a friend gave me his grandfather's Bible. Three months later I was a street preacher.

Jesus tells us to pray to our father who is in Heaven. Don't let a people tell you about their thoughts on a subject. His first commandment, that he says is the most important is to love God with all your heart soul strength and mind. And Secondly to love your neighbor as you would love yourself. In keeping those two things, we can keep all commandments. It takes active seeking, active thought, a changing, cleansing of the inside of the vessel, rather than the outside.

    Great discussion!
One thing that I thought a lot over time was the idea of a beginning and creation. In science, we have this sort of Big Bang idea to explain how the universe started, and then you almost cannot avoid getting into the paradox of where the universe comes from. The idea that the universe came from the "nothing". It simply sprouted. How can something just pop up out of nowhere for no reason?
Within the religions, however, you sort of come up to the same conclusions because you have this Entity there, God, but then, how God just came up to be? Who created God? And then from where came who created God? You reach a point of repeating decimal. Otherwise, you have to reach the same conclusion of something coming out of nowhere.
Thinking in that regard, in my own conclusions, I remembered a while ago what a fellow back in my college days once told me: that the human mind cannot comprehend the idea of "nothing". The absolute emptiness. Every time we think of nothing, we still think of something. The human mind simply is not able to conceive the idea of an absolute nothing.
So, if we can apply this for nothing, we certainly can do the opposite and apply this for everything. Not simply in terms of infinite, because an "everything" is different of the idea of infinite. It isn't simply a limitless extension of galaxies in the universe, nor of different realities through limitless strings and things like that. No, the "everything" is the exhaustion of every possibility of existence. It is a "full". So, something that is already everything in itself doesn't need to get started. To be created. It is exhaustively already there in every form and possibility from every angle of direction, you see?

Bereshith says: the earth(1), which is soil or minerals, came to be formless and empty(without information or pliable) and darkness(2) the place of gestation, was on the face(position) of the deep(3), an aspect of space, and the Spirit(4), which is the life giving source of Elohim(5) was moving on the face of the waters(6). The 7th nothing was vibration when Gd spoke which brought forth light at the right frequency. So nothing's are always eternal. To reflect: soil, darkness, space, Spirit, Elohim, water and vibration worked together to create light so that matter could be revealed which could never be observed before. You can see it in the fractal system of mathematics which was discovered by Mandelbrot. The ability of a mathematical equation to create eternity (never ending) by causing shapes to step and repeat. Light crashing through darkness could be considered a big bang. 😊

      @TheStugbit 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@TienkeBosherPelzmann yep, I see. But the vibration you say is deemed to be something, right? Then, what created the vibration? It doesn't make much sense to me if something was supposed to be "always there." No thing can simply "be", out of the blue, you see? Someone or something might have done something for the vibration to exist.

    • @TienkeBosherPelzmann

@@TheStugbit Gd said... Vibration is sound. Our system of speech or the way by which we produce sound is by using the voice box. Our whole body was created to be in the image of Gd so that we can create by having the ability to create vibration through speech or song in understandable verse. Therefor the world is called the uni-verse. It is the mystical Hebrew expression Abracadabra, we create as we speak.

Nice shiur but I have a question. While insurance companies only denote hurricanes, earthquakes, tornados, floods as 'Acts of G-D', I believe the Jewish view is crucially different. Hence acts done by other people TO us are also 'Acts of G-D' as, by saying anything less, you are limiting G-Ds power. Thus HE can both reward or punish us by using an 'agent' (eg. any other person) to deliver HIS will (eg. that person steals your car as a punishment for a sin you have committed). Just because a person (the thief in this case) has free will that does not prevent or undermine this process. There will always be SOME person 'available' who will decide to carry out the action on the recipient that G-D has chosen in HIS infinite wisdom to bestow (cf. Mordechai telling Esther that if she doesn't 'step up' and act to save the Jewish people then salvation would come from something (or someone) else). I would really appreciate any insights on this thought!

Well you didn't say who could comment you are right and reincarnation is not so, because John was of Elijah he had the same Spirit. We even have Caleb WITH another spirit with him by having a help from heaven. I have experienced this and still do, yet they are girls, which is better. So why reincarnate? It's not like I can go marry the one I was supposed to marry because she is gone. So I am not with that teaching.

It is for you to master.... Its all about the heart.
How do you feel about it?
How many Times have you read the word Heart?
In his heart a man plans his course, but Hashem (or TIME itself) determins the steps.
Heaven and Earth come together in our hearts. Heaven... The electromagnetic and Earth (the material).
We worship Hashem with... Joy and Thanksgiving. These are emotional and intellectual.

Chew on this forever, waste of time, choose good.

Frame by frame is also a good analogy. We have to go frame by frame. Move forward from where we are. We can't jump. We flow from moment to the next.
We are told to remember that in the past... Our fathers lived in Egypt.... And now they are here. And they got here... Step by step, season by season, one heartbeat after another.

Christian Protestants have been arguing about this for 500 years. Some believe we are automatons fully predestined by God, and others believe we have total free will. Catholics and Orthodox believe both apply. I think it may be a function that we can't resolve, because God's mind and ways are beyond our comprehension. Somewhere in the Tanakh, God says "my ways are not your ways".

When Elohim created our reality, He claimed that it was good. During this period we were endowed with Free Will. That meaning, for as long as our choices are embedded in doing good, we will remain free. As soon as we believe we have the freedom to choose evil, our will have been taken in bondage and we are connected to evil. Did not YHWH say to Cain, Bereshith 4:7 Is it not if you do good, you are to be accepted? and if you do not do good, towards the door is a sin. He is lying and towards you is his desire wanting to devour you, and you must rule over him.

The nothing theory belongs to the evolutionists. The Torah do not make that claim. First watch The Mandelbrot set by Dr Jason lisle so you may grasp eternal so you can grasp that concept.
