Y’all are gonna crucify me for this, but I actually really like Plesioth in the third Gen. Him, Velkhana, Alatreon, and Viper Tobi are some of my favorites just because they made me learn what I needed to do to be a better hunter.
Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos were introduced in Monster Hunter G, so they're no longer accessible in that game due to the online exclusive gathering hall
My favourites by generation as of Rise (indifferent to subs and variants): Gen 1 - Fatalis, Rathian, Rathalos, Kirin, Diablos Gen 2 - Chemeleos, Tigrex, Rajang, Nargacuga, Teostra Gen 3 - Deviljho, Zinogre, Amatsu, Brachydios, Alatreon Gen 4 - Nerscylla, Gore Magala, Glavenus, Seltas Queen, Mizutsune Gen 5 - Namielle, Odogaron, Nergigante, Goss Harag, Bazelguese My overall top 10 10. My personal theory and thought that why the other Fated Four weren't in Iceborne is because they want to give each member a time to shine on their own in a game. In Iceborne its Glavenus and it got a subspecies in the form of Acidic Glavenus. So maybe in MH Rise it be will Mizutsune and it too could get a subspecies. I think with Fated Four subspecies they will make them swap out elements for status ailments and feel like a Blast Mizutsune could be possible. Living in the Volcanic area making use of the same slime mold as Brachydios does mixed with its soapy excretion. It could be more agile than its normal counterpart essentially painting circles of slime on the ground to trap its prey
The New World has too many slopes for Mizutsune and not enough space for Gammoth to wander around. For Astalos, maybe he just got chosen over. Hopefully he joins Mizutsune
@@prehistoricfanboy101 1. We know why the Leviathans were not in W:I. They could not get the animation rig for the Leviathan shape to work properly. They could not get to work in time for the base game and as to why they were not in Iceborne lies with the developers but it seems likely its also technical issue because rigging can be a pain and could have been making a new one in time for Rise at least. Also to say that the Old World has less slopes than the New World continent sounds redundant, no offense. Look now at Rise and its emphasis on verticality. It's even more than 4U. Slopes are kind of tricky thing in video games with real time combat because NPCs and enemy AI has to take into account a z-axis for movement and combat now. The 3DS was likely not that capable in handling those elements in the older games. Those instances when you may have sometimes seen yourself when monsters dissappear into the slopes in W:I are times when AI messes up on them. Slopes could even be beneficial to Mizutsune now in Rise possibly allowing for some new moves thanks to slippery soapy excretion. 2. In the areas of the Snowy Mountains in which Gammoth appears area 8 is technically the smallest. Its an area divided in half by a ridge and peak of the mountain which monsters cannot access. That area is roughly the size of the medium open areas in the Hoarfrost Reach. And in the Frozen Seaway Gammoth sleeps in area 5 which is the smallest area there besides the area where the wild Felynes live. Gammoth could have made easy use of areas 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 11 of the Hoarfrost Reach. 3. As for Astalos it could have taken the spot and same role of Nargacuga in Iceborne. But it didn't possibly in favour of Glavenus and its subspecies. Which is why its leading me and some others think they may want to give each member of the Fated Four a time to shine on their own in main line game. Of course there is always the chance other members of Fated 4 could also be in Rise roster too. We can only wait for more information and the release of the game in full to see
