    Wow! Thanks for posting. I almost paid my local bike shop $50, the hourly shop service fee, to install mine. Cheaper for me to buy the tool and do it myself.

      This video is really bad!!! Have you seen he touches his disc with the fat on his finger? DONT do this or clean it with alcohol after that. Such a error is a shame in a video to tell others how to repair their life insurance.

    Important to know for my mtb buddies: the internal lockring-the one that works with the cassette tool is only usable for 12mm axles or slimmer. For your front wheel you will need the external lock ring - the one where you need a bottom bracket spanner.

    Thank you so much for the video. Please tell me how do I set torque if the rotor has to be secured with the second type of rotor securing ring you showed with the spanner? I think I would need a lock ring crowfoot spanner or lockring socket so I can fix either to my torque wrench but I have had no luck finding such a tool. Can you pls help or advise me?

    Thanks for your helpful videos. I have a question though as I will soon receive a new set of wheels from LB with DT240 exp hub : my current wheels have an external lock wheel on the front and in internal one on the rear. Should I keep the same set up or can I use internal lock ring on both ? I didn't really get the difference between the two. I'd appreciate your take on this as I see you went from external to internal on your setup.

    Great video. I have a center lock disc brake with Shimano discs and the tool and it fits perfectly except...when I tighten it, it doesn't cinch up, it still has play. I don't know if I'm missing washers or if I just have to tighten more. Any ideas?

      @@FreeToCycle Thanks, so you've confirmed I have all the right pieces. If I put it all together and tighten it but there's still play/looseness of the rotor, is it safe to tighten it more? I don't have a torque wrench that size so just want to make sure not to over tighten it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to damage it if I start putting more oomph into it.

    Didn't he just smear grease over his new disc rotor?

  • @_doitright
    @_doitright 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    There is this misconception about greasing parts, I watched this dream bike build a while ago and that guy was greasing absolutely everything and not just little but big amounts. The total amount of grease I use on putting together a bike is two finger dips that's it.

      Depends on the brand of rotor. Shimano usually provides lock rings with rotors. Other brands such as TRP do not include the lock rings.
