KSHMR deserves so much higher. All my love and respect for this man. The only person not begging for votes, helping children in India, such a kind and awesome guy and definitely the best producer.

But I met KSHMR in Chennai and spoke abt these results and told me (and probably most of the other fans) Not 2 worry abt it as he doesn't care about the rankings but only cares for his fans (and he knows that he has a lot of fans) and he knows that they luv his music and that's all that he wants

Hardwell released two EP's this summer, each of them including five tracks. Never leaving behind what he's unquestionably the best at, he released five more tracks, which added up to those two EP's are fifteen that he's already released so far in 2017. Not only are they fifteen, but they are a mix of different styles where Hardwell purely demonstrates his versatility.
His sets were perfect. Hardwell brought back the faith that festival crowds still can bring the energy like they used to a few years ago was. Few years ago? Yes, coincidentally enough when Hardwell was reigning the EDM scene.
His radioshow "Hardwell on Air" being as solid as always, presenting exclusives every week from various artists and playing music that gets nobody indifferent to. His recordings label "Revealed Recordings" being better than ever, helping unknown producers grow up with their ongoing project and also releasing lots of music from different styles, thus adopting Revealed Recordings as a multi-genre label.
And now you're telling me that DJ's like Martin Garrix and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike deserve to be in a higher position than him because one knows how to persuade people who are most likely unfamiliar with the current EDM scene into voting for them and the other one who, despite releasing one or two good tracks, is only better at being more popular than Hardwell?
Hardwell should have won in this year based on his tremendously arduous work ethic through his radio shows, livesets and production versatility.

Yeah, of course. KSHMR should have been way higher this year as well. I just mentioned Hardwell because I believe it was one of the most unfair cases this year and because he's undoubtedly my favourite DJ/producer.

DVLM cheated by having girls taking iPads around Tomorrowland and telling people to vote for them. Garrix is just more popular, and while he hasn't had the best year, he certainly is talented. I'd agree that Hardwell probably deserved it this year

For everybody complaining, remember the voting comes directly from the people. And from the 1 million voters, I am pretty confident that over 75% don't know much about music and just vote for the DJ names that pop up to mind, that's why DJs such as David Guetta, Steve Aoki and The Chainsmokers appear inside the top ten. Basically like it or not, they are the most famous and their music have the strongest reach to all the corners in the world. Cheers.

Rankings, fame or money don't mather. If your music inspires people, if it motivates people, if it helps people in some way, you are Number 1, not in the rankings, but in the hearts of your fans. That's what true Dj-ing and music are all about!

Alan Walker was 17 in 2017... But from 2018, DJ Mag began to get more rigged and they never counted votes properly, as a result many good producers like him don't get a chance. Moreover, people misinterpreted a video and then started saying Alan Walker uses ghost producer or that he has too many co producers. These criticisms and the loss of support from the EDM community resulted in his downfall from 2018. But as of 2019 and 2020, his position is going up again tho.

For everyone that is saying "Fuck DJ Mag", it's a poll. The more votes someone get, the higher place the DJ gets.
So if your favourite DJ/Prodcer is not at the place you want him/her to be, it's because the artist just doesn't have enough votes, easy as that. That ain't the fault of the poll or the DJ Mag itself.
Of course, there are A LOT of genres within Dance music so sometimes it's unfair competition for a DJ when he plays and/or makes a not that popular genre and has to go up against artists of a more popular genre.
But guys, it's just a poll...
So please, don't get triggered by a poll and don't blame anyone for your fav artist not being (high enough) on that list! Just make sure to support your favourite artists the best you can, because that's what truly matters! If someone is your personal #1, then you shouldn't be bothered for him/her not being #1 on the poll, because he/she already is YOUR #1.
