Oh so nice Kenneth That’s a gem for sure I am off to my holy sewing room full of mistakes and fabric carnage but I luv it At 67 fallen in luv with sewing non stop sewing over one year You give me courage to wrestle that arm on.
Lovely to watch Kenneth I destroy myself and fabric as I ease shoulder setting sometimes This way looks simple (if there is such a thing in sewing) I am off to my broadcloth now to pinch my shoulder ease Thanks Rusty
Wish I’d seen this BEFORE I just set in my sleeves! They are my bête noir of sewing. Now I’ll just have to do my next project with sleeves - and preferably using a crisp material. Thank you.
Wow! This is a new way of doing it, for me. I saw what you were doing clearly. Thank you for posting this. Love all your tutorials - I can feel your love of the subject.
Thank you so much. Will get much use out of this tip. So unique. Have so much to learn yet. Please keep passing along tips like these...will help tremendously.
Very clever. My mom did factory sewing... way back when. I learned a lot of tricks that work for everyday sewing. As you said, not so good for wool/tailored items. Thanks for the tip.
This looks so helpful - once you get the knack of it. Hopefully I remember this for when I finally get all unpacked after moving and start sewing again.
If you have a serger, change the differential feed to 1.5 and the feed dogs on the serger put the sleeve into the armhole without basing. It takes but a few minutes. Depending on the fabric you may clip if necessary as you sew.
The result is amazing! But actually I couldn't understand exactly what's going under, your hand was covering the view. I think a little bit zoom-in with a better camera angle and a slow motion can help better. Thanks anyway, you're awesome 👍
If you set your differential feed on 2 on your serger that means that your back feet move 1/2 the speed as your front feet dogs which will cause a gather to form. Set your stitch length to the longest as well. It neatly gathers your sleeve cap and it's easy to "relax" it if the the gather is too intense. Once that's done I press the sleeve cap over an insulated mit to "set" it and then pin it in. It actually doesn't take long at all and the gathers are very neat.
I can see how you held it in the beginning, but your hand is in the way as you're doing it. I wish the camera had been placed between yourself and your hand at a low height, rather than above your hand. It looks super cool & I'm going to try it, but I just wish I could see what you're actually doing :/
Sorry about that. You pinch the fabric between index finger and thumb, and push the fabric with your thumb. The fabric bunches up under your index fingernail.
I really can’t see what you’re doing your hand is in the way you should have face the camera in the opposite direction so we could see exactly what you’re doing helloooooooooo
I've been sewing for 60+ years, and I'm still learning new techniques. Thank you so much for this one. I can't wait to share!

Just sew two long stitches, next to each other, along the sleeve's edge and gather😉 works for me and is very quick and easy .
The best!!! Thank you so much❤

THANK YOU 💞
Thanks sir....... God bless you
How cool is that 😎👏
Amazing wow
Спасибо за урок!
wow can you also show how you would sew that through the machine
You would pin it to the bodice, with the sleeve cap against the feed dogs/bed of the machine.
I use the differential feed on my serger to "gather" the sleeve head and it only take a couple of minutes :)
Could you explain further how this works? Thanks.
@@PsychicKathleen that sounds pretty easy, thanks for the tip.
Excelent wow
So this won't really work then on a suit sleeve ?
I'm trying to ease a sleeve on a Mccalls pattern and just can't seem to get it right just puckers .
I can see how you held it in the beginning, but your hand is in the way as you're doing it. I wish the camera had been placed between yourself and your hand at a low height, rather than above your hand. Sorry about that. You pinch the fabric between index finger and thumb, and push the fabric with your thumb. The fabric bunches up under your index fingernail.
@@kdknyc I will give it shot! Thanks for the video! I've been sewing for a few decades and have always hated gathering and easing in a sleeve cap ;)
My lucky day! 777th like👍
مرحبأ كيف أطابق الكم على حردة الأبط .
لماذا لاتجيبون على أسألتنا ونحن متابعيكم؟😢😢😢😢😢
has anyone actually done this?
Well,well,well…
I really can’t see what you’re doing your hand is in the way you should have face the camera in the opposite direction so we could see exactly what you’re doing helloooooooooo
Great Tip! Thanks!
