Honestly this is an interesting matchup. Pretty sure most people know this but Dark super is made of negative chaos energy, and it’s still negative energy in general, so Nightmare still wins since he feeds off it. It’s like when Cyber Nazo first appeared in the return animation and sonic used Dark to fight him while everybody else ran. The same deal here happened there, and sonic couldn’t damage him because they both had negative chaos energy.

This is Fax because Dark Sonic is the only sonic form that is absolutely Featless and I’m not counting Hyper Sonic because at least Hyper Sonic actually has statements. Dark Sonic has no statements or Feats. Realistically Super Sonic or Hyper Sonic would’ve been able to defeat nightmare Sans because obviously they use positive energy which is nightmares weakness.
But we are talking about dark sonic not hyper you can clearly see in the title.

Accurate.NM has less strength and speed than Sonic but he is more durable and his skills carry him hard lol.Also he doesnt rely on hax so much and this means he is one of the strongest Sanses,and Nightmare is mostly strong because of his attack range and skills
If sonic hadn't become dark sonic, he'd stand a much better chance since Nightmare gets stronger due to negativity, sadness, hatred, stuff that pretty much are the opposite of positive emotion.

This is fanon nightmare, canon nightmare wouldn,t kill dark sonic. Instead he would make him suffer more. He also cannot be killed by normal means, only by possitivity (dream is ALOT weaker than nightmare) or code erase.
Super Sonic(modern) is canonically 5th dimensional.

But Dark Sonic can't beat Nightmare, because he is using negative energy of Chaos Emeralds.
About that:Chaos Emeralds transforms thoughts into power, so if your thoughts are anger, rage, sadness you'll use negative energy, if it your thoughts are opposite your using positive energy
