Wow! Videos like this always remind me 1) how long AG has been around And 2) how little I have despite the insane amount of storage this hobby currently takes up in my apartment. Thank you for going through everything. It’s way better than navigating ag wiki. 😅
I know what you mean about both of these. I bought an older Pleasant Company poster the other day and realized it was 30 years old. THIRTY! It had never been opened and looks like it was made yesterday.
Those mixed lots are a lot of fun. I think you did well - at least breaking even, with the stuff you want to keep and including the sales of the things you don't want to keep.
I keep waiting for someone to be genuinely offended that I'm not Tonks' #1 (or 2 or 3 or 56) fan lol. But so far people are just letting me be in my lack of love for her ;)
34:55 is one of the hotel robes that used to be included in the original AG hotel packages. Looks just like the one I had from the Wyndham in Chicago (2006).
I’ll take all of the Jess tie dye skirts. 😂 It is my favorite, no sarcasm from me! I actually wanted the skirt for myself back in 2006. I love how boho it looks. I don’t care for the halter as much, but often pair it with Marisol’s tank top and wrap shirt.
Great haul video That flip phone you found goes with the little purse that is orange with a butterfly. it was part of a just like you accessories set around 2008 it was the accessories that went along with the star hoodie Meet outfit. the three plaid headbands that you found go with the star hoodie outfit
Thanks - I would have sworn it was Jess's phone because it matches her collection better than it matches that star hoodie meet outfit lol. But you're right. I learn new things every day!
I got that complete ski outfit with a lot of used clothing (had to be a bargain because I don't pay much for used outfits - like a small tote full for $20). Then purchased the skis, boots, poles, goggles and helmet in another sale. I was looking for older ski sets for winter scenes. The only thing missing is the boot inserts. I didn't know those came with the set, until now. Don't really need them as the boots fits like all the rest of AG ski boots. Including Corinne's skis (and outfit) and the USA sets; skis and snowboard (bought a set of each then a second set when reduced in the clearance section) so I have at least six ski sets and the two snowboards. Lots of dolls will be on the slope when I get out there in winter to take photos.
Just to let you know, the black sandals with the criss-cross straps and the foam base, go with Julie's Christmas outfit, so all you're missing is just the belt. (Just a heads up...those shoes are also really hard to get on over the tights...not impossible, but as they say "the struggle is real" Lol!)
I don't have anything fool-proof. Sometimes treating with Fels Naptha is enough, sometimes the sun helps, sometimes just soaking in laundry detergent and handwashing for long enough helps. And sometimes (like the lace on Elizabeth's piece) nothing seems to work.
That darker purple tank goes to the light purple jacket with purple floral embroidery and the dark purple cropped sweatpants I believe. They make up a yoga outfit. The teal gauzy tunic with scattered sequins went to the dark jeans with whiskered front. Those damaged teal clogs were part of that outfit. The white rug with pink & red flowers is Molly’s. The pillow at the beginning goes to the sleeping bag. So much of the stuff in this giant tub took me back to my daughter’s collecting days.
That green homemade crinkle town dress is CUTE AS CAN BE! I’d love to see that on one of your Sonali mold CYOs (Rosalie in particular because I’m biased) I think it would be really adorable once it’s steamed or ironed
It feels more homemade to me. If it WAS a commercially made set, it seems a poor fabric choice because those frogs are really pretty large for 18" dolls.
It has changed a bit over time, but not much. I do have a two-part video series about doll space organization that I did a while back. If you go to my channel and search "organization" it should come up. Let me know if you have any trouble finding those videos :)
40:15 Molly’s rug (floral table runner lol) The cowboy hat and kerchief are Coconut’s coordinating accessories to the JLY horse lover outfit (2005), I think there’s also a magnetic horseshoe.
@@agtakesover not always so good at the names to outfits I don’t own, but I can usually identify what goes with what! I do have the horse lover outfit, though.
Yes it was! And I sold a few things from it already so I made back $90 and kept all the things we indicated we'd be keeping! (plus I still have several things to sell at some point in the future)
Hi Kristie and Grace. Nice to hear you both in the video. That looked like fun discovering so many AG items among other things. Doll lots are such an adventure! I loved seeing Elizabeth’s meet dress which I don’t have. Doll cell phones are adorable! I hope some of the items were useful in your collection. 😃
That's funny. Grace's cat sleeps in my daughter's Bitty Baby crib and her AG sized bunk beds. That cat has plenty of doll beds to sleep in - "Stay off Courtney's bed, Tonks!" lol
It really bothers me a great deal when parents decide that things that are not played with anymore. Need to be taken out of the house and sold or donated. Sometimes parents forget the attachments that are between for these purposes, a doll and its owner. Or perhaps special outfits That were given for special reasons. Yes when both of my kids went to college, my son boxed everything up that was his and was hers and they both moved to Texas. About three years ago my ex-husband sold the building that we lived in. I have incredibly limited contact with both children not by my choice however, I hope That both kids got their treasures out of there before their father sold the building. My daughter had 14 American girl dolls, including the originals. Of course my son had an incredible Star Trek and Star Wars collection. I would be very very disappointed if I thought that they didn’t have those things anymore because I know how much they meant to them.
I don't know how much of it was the daughter's and how much belonged to the woman's sister. And I'm glad she did let her keep some things. It's always hard to know the right decision for a parent to make and it's hard to know the connection the child did or didn't have with her dolls.
Good question - for sturdier things I sometimes machine wash. For a lot of it, I soak and hand wash in a large bowl with room temp water and laundry detergent. I use Fels Naptha for some stains and with this lot I tried Amodex for the first time (varying degrees of success)
That's interesting because the shirt/jacket is a red and white combination that you can't wash without causing bleeding, so you'd expect *that* to be the harder-to-find piece.
@agtakesover Oh, darn. I didn't go back to the video and compare it. I'm glad it caught my eye, though, because I've admired the sweater from that set, and now I know how to search for it! 🙂
Idk if I’ve asked before lol but what’s the name of that tops (26:35) outfit? Also omg the pink build a bear shirt I had that as a child I’ve been searching for a new one!
How do you wash American Girl doll clothes? Cause I got my Kaya doll and she's needing a good bath and she's wearing Elizabeth or Felicity nightgown and both are beyond dusty and I got to restore my childhood PC kaya doll
It depends. If it's not delicate, I sometimes wash them on delicate in the regular washing machine. Sometimes I pre-treat with a Fels Naptha bar. More often than not, I just soak them and gently handwash with regular laundry detergent in a large bowl of lukewarm water.
Omg!! mashumaromitainafuwafuwanyanko (English translation is something like “fluffy little meow like a marshmallow”) is a pretty obscure sanrio character with not a lot of merch. If the little bag wasn’t in such rough condition, I bet it could really be worth something!!
Were the paisley pajamas complete?? And what was the red dress that was pictured with the purple cheerleader outfit?? How much for the Flapper dress and shoes?? Thanks. 😊
I don't remember if the eye mask was included, but top, bottoms, and slippers for sure were there. I'll have to go back and look at the red dress and price the flapper dress and shoes. Would you mind emailing me (agtakesover@gmailcom) and mentioning the items you're interested in there so I don't lose track of it? Thanks!

Very excited to watch this. It is like a blind box for AG dolls.
A very LARGE blind box :)
The headless doll in the background is really making me giggle! Awesome video!
Lol. She's recently been reunited with her head, you'll be glad to know :)
Not just 4-year-olds I'm constantly reminding my mom to close the Velcro as soon as she takes an outfit off😂
Yes, adults definitely do this, too! 😂
Yikes. C'mon mom, you gotta be careful!
Thanks for sharing, it was fun to watch and hear Grace’s input as well! Big lots are a lot of work but so much fun!
Indeed. Worth it, but it's definitely chaotic sorting, cleaning, and deciding where everything goes in those first few days lol
Looks like a floral table runner...a piece from Molly's bedroom collection.

41:48 Jess’ blue water bottle from her meet accessories
Jess was better hydrated that the dolls are now lol. This one feels bigger than newer ones.

What's a crinkle town dress?
The dark pink sleeveless shirt goes with the lilac short zip up jacket and the plum capris. It’s called yoga gear on American Girl wiki.

The fog PJ's look cute possibly a Walmart or Kmart matching girl and doll sets
