Chen is a ballad god but I love when we get to hear him flex his register in more upbeat songs. He’s simply incredible❤
You might not have cried but I did! I cried listening to this song and then I cried more watching the MV! That's the effect this man's voice has on me, every damn album I cry without fail!
I'm so happy to have new music from Jongdae, I love his voice so much. This album is so good, it's very eclectic, we FINALLY have RockDae back after forever, more blues and even a throwback that's right up your alley - no ballads for once!
If i'm not wrong,he said that all the songs describe things he has been through and felt during those last years...

He absolutely destroyed me with this title track and this album. Seriously, 22 minutes of pure heaven to me. I’ve been praying for a rocker jongdae since ever and this album was perfection!
He does seem happy and honestly this is all I ask for. I haven’t read the lyrics yet either but I agree with you, it seems like a big ‘I found my happiness and this is how I’m gonna live from now on, it’s my life’, which I think is just perfect. It might be exactly the kind of lyric he needs. I’m so happy for him and so so proud! This Japan tour is gonna be incredible, I can’t wait for all the fancams.

As for Light Of My Life the last part sums it up pretty nicely

And no, he didn't write the lyrics to any of the songs in this album since it's a Japanese release (although he's quite fluent from the videos we got recently) but he wrote the lyrics to I Don't Even Mind from the album he released last year 🎉
This MV is gorgeous with his tiny waist and gorgeous smile but at first he looks like he's crying and I want to fight people 😭
The ones that'll go to his Japan concerts are so lucky 🤬
I watched his concert Polaris last Saturday and it was just absolutely awesome. Chen was just simply spectacular. The band who accompanied him was equally superb. The stage, lights, concert concept were also amazing. I have run out of superlatives. The concert lasted more than the sched two hours plus around 40 min. because the crowd would not let him go and he obliged singing and talking to the fans and going down the stage and handshaking, hifiving and making hearts with the fans. I wish everyone not only EXOL’s would able to see and hear his incredible talent. Chen with a live band is just on another level. Thank you for your reaction and thank you for your beautiful words.

I got goosebumps from all the emotions he put into this song, something about Chen ,(uri Jongdae) is his ability to bring out feelings we didn't know we had yet he reaches into our souls and brings them out into the sunshine that he is to us. He emotes like no other. You didnt get the full impact otherwise you would have gotten if not tears watery eyes. perhaps it's because you pauses during that period when he delivered those powerful vocals and his high register shined through but I got chills. as you said this is a blues/jazzy/R&B pop song that had a lot of technically demanding vocals. I wanna know why they are telling us about his upcoming wedding ceremony, when we won't get to see it or his wife or children. Like it's a tease for us, but I am happy for his wife. She finally gets her day with our Jongdae.
I really don´t know the meaning of the lyrics yet but I feel the same as you, and I love the idea because his family is part of him now. I always cry just to see Chen´s face but is because he is a living sweet heart and I love him I just wanna the best for him and the persons that he loves , and I think thats the real love, all that delulus don´t love they are just obsessed. I love me some Chen!!! He is such an amazing singer. I love how expressive he is when he sings. He feels everything that he sings about, and I love that about him the most. Any music genre, whether it's contemporary ballads, r&b, soft rock, jazz, etc. he can sing it. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album❤❤❤❤.

My anime weeb ass finally come in handy so i understood most of the lyrics 😂 and i could memorize it since memorizing japanese is easier than korean for me i can sing without being awkward bcz i cant spoke the word xD . This album became my favorite already like favorite solo album ( it was grey suit before ) , chen did everthing i like in one album and im so satisfied. We saw RockChen and mirage of flower is reminds me my favorite solo track decanting ( from my baby suho ) LIKE IM DEAD and those high notes ??? Baekhyun with all i got already destroyed me but now my bias Jongdaddy is doing too i cant handle. AND YEAH LOW NOTES APPRECIATION !!
