I do not believe this is a remake. That said.... this track pays homage to both M.J. and, of course, the 1980s with it's strong use of bass and drums. It has a strong R&B vibe to it. Anyone that is familiar to that era would find this song having a familiarity to it. His vocals are nice... but the choreography is spectacular. JK is truly one talented young man.

Jungkook released his solo album "Golden". Its a wonderful album. Standing next to you is the main track for this album. The dance here is homage to MJ. The album is all in English. JK said he wanted to try different genre of music and wanted to challenge himself. He appeared in various shows to promote his album. He also did a short mini concert on time square and only gave fans 30 minutes notice. Thousands showed up.

Not a remake, as some have indicated. I don't think the lyrics are similar to anything, personally. But, he definitely did musical and dancing homage to MJ. It's got some funk that may sound a bit like something Bruno Mars has done too. The choreo is just perfect.

Reminds me of Earth wind and fire, Justin Timberlake. Bee gees, a little Michael Jackson, all the disco funk ever written, LOL. The MV is much better, and so are any of the lives in the USA because of the dancers. all 3 of his songs were choreographed by the backup dancers mostly Brian Puspos.

Jungkook was hated and criticised a lot… cuz of just singing in english or trying new things in his album which is not commonly used in kpop ! People felt threatened for their idols and groups so he was given extreme hate and sabotaged which is why they are bit sensitive towards the boys and boys have dealt with plagiarism accusations once before where they did nothing the whole thing brought a lawsuit and almost disbandment of bts cuz they were mentally frustrated over it so please understand these the emotions behind it….just we sometimes get sensitive maybe overly so !!!

It’s sounds familiar like other songs we have heard before. We know it’s his original and not a remake. Every song from every artist has a similar sound to other songs. That’s because artists get inspiration from other artists and songs.
I played drums for many years in several different bands. Myself and the rest of the rest of the musicians always picked up inspiration and musical ideas from listening to other bands and their music.
We never copied their music. We simply used similar techniques and sounds within our original songs.
