Well the M is based out of ENY yard alongside the J, L & Z trains so makes sense that the R179s would eventually make their way to the M line.

@ Not quite, the J and M share R160s all the time and I thinks it’s likely that that it’s gonna be the same situation with the R179s, as M trains are based out of fresh pond yard or ENY. Jamaica only stores M trains and are not maintained there.
