  • If you haven’t heard, widgets on iOS can be interactive now! This is so exciting to me because it presents a new way and a new opportunity to use your apps...I did some experimenting with the Xcode 15 and iOS 17 betas and came up with this little demo.

Nice video, thanks. Can we make some network request in the perform function in AppIntent protocol?

Does it support audio playback? For example a soundboard button?

It seems that the iOS Foundations course 2023 has been greatly depleted compared to the 2020 version (CWC+).

Is it only for iOS? Or for both iOS and iPadOS?
Edit: I did not see the video. It clearly shows it’s for both 😊.

That’s surprising Apple was able to add this ability for us through just one new modifier in Xcode

When do we expect this to be supported by react native and flutter? I know it's not up to apple but im a web dev trying to branch off to ios and typescript to swift seems like too much of an investment at least for my first real ios project. I watch your videos since 3 years ago and it was part of my inspiration to choose computer science instead of mechanical engineering, cheers 👍

I am a React Native developer who is tired of hybrid technology. I wanted to access to whole hardware and cool things and started learning Native IOS development :-) Though I am not a fan of React, if project doesnt need too many native features, React is the way to go. It is easier and quicker, with less code, to develop with it, and it is more intuitive imo too.

Honestly, if you're waiting for Apple features to be supported in third party frameworks, I think it's better if you just bit the bullet and went native.
These frameworks are never going to have parity with Apple, and the user experience of almost all React/Flutter apps is sub-par.
I get that they're economical to make, but they're not good for consumers.
