I have a raveling issue within the first 6 months. Contractor told me it would be fine after sealing. No so.

I don't know what's worse, the asphalt job or your pictures you took off your computer screen.

When I bought my home two years ago, my driveway was almost identical to this and still is. Crumbling in many places.
I’m not at all in a financial position to pay for a new driveway. What could be a temporary fix for this? Do you think patching and sealing would help it last longer and function better? Or would sealing be absolutely pointless?

Okay....I appreciate the video. I'm in a unique situation as I have access to batches of asphalt that is years old but weren't ever laid down. The company threw this near a recycle pile. It's been 5 to 6 years i guess, living at 10,000 ft so lots of snow, Intense sun, etc. The asphalt once broken apart is very oily. I have throw about 2, maybe 3 inches on a spot I want to park. Just like the video...well, first 2.5 inches solid, lot of loose rock. The tamper I have access to has been used thus far. Can I sweep off the loose stuff, add another inch or two, tamp it down, and seal it. U think it's still gonna fail?
    Just askinh

Sorry that the content creator can’t give you any answers.
But yes, if you’re talking about an abandoned cold mix asphalt stockpile then yes you can safely use it to seal cracks, fill small pot holes…depends on what type of mix you come across… if it’s a 3/8” mix then you can get pretty good stuff as long as you tamp it correctly.

Use ss1 ( h ) oil in between layers it will last for years..if it is hard to work with you can heat it with a tourch..if you heat it too much it will start looking dull add more ss1 and mix well..

I have the same issue, an idiot owner of Accurate Hardscapes and Drainage came to my door and offer to do my driveway for $4800, I arrived at home at the sunset and he was standing waiting for me to give him the money. I couldnt check it, I handled him the money, and at the morning I discovered that his work is very very bad, I kept contacting him, and he end up say, I cannot do anything about it. I am so regretted that I believed him.

Who ever told you that it has to be around 80 degrees outside to lay asphalt doesnt know what they are talking about, been paving for 37 years, owned my own paving co for 32 years now in alabama, we have worked in 25 degree weather and turns out great, just haft to work faster to get it down and rolled, my brother has a paving co in louisville ky and no problem in the cold, know your facts before you put crap out that you know nothing about. And you dont need to lay a form for asphalt, there is nothing wrong with putting asphalt up to the red brick, did you expect a gap between them. Dont get me wrong, the driveway did look bad and have alot of issues and maybe to thin. Just know more about the business before you kick on it.

@@RobertSmith-pr8hvyeah not sure what that guy is talking about…HMA comes out I’ve seen as high as 350 degrees on hot summer days… in California it has to be 50 degrees and rising to lay asphalt. At least for Caltrans
