I never understand why I was paid so little. Also that 23% I do not believe is accurate for most child care providers. Most are on the federal food program which pays for the hours teachers work during food survice AND the children's food. I honestly believe they use the "passion" of a teacher to pay them less. The school I worked for was coorporate and didn't even spend money on buying new toys/materials for teachers. Its ridiculous how a job with such high demand and high turnover can pay so little.

It should not cost that much to send your child to daycare. My husband and I struggle with this every month.

I don't have any kids but I know we need to so a better job in investing in education across the board, starting with early childhood education as it sets the path with how well a child learns as they get older.

Awesome Video! What a great way to advocate for early education and the need to invest public dollars to make it a reality! In the future, it would be great to see a video primarily from the prospective of the educator and the need to increase salaries! Thanks for sharing this!!!

So the government requires 1 administrator/teacher for every 3 kids and we're wondering why it costs so much?

I always wondered why and no benifits they do need to change that A.S.A.P thats sad and crazy and yes a new president of the U.S need to make a new law a new change and pay more to the teachers of childcare and teachers aswell dealing with bad kids crazy parents lazy co workers a headace all in all and where is the money going because its not going to the daycare workers so who is getting the money when a parent pays a high price that fishy

Administrative costs are more than what this video is making out to be. This is a for-profit system where daycare owners are laughing all the way to the bank while paying their teachers a non-liveable wage.

The new progressive plan should be to make it affordable to care for your own children.
