Its because the manga is still ongoing, and therefore can still earn more money in the long term.
Anime are generally promotional material for the manga, so when the manga stops, the anime is also no longer profitable.
@@zillva This sort of makes sense to me. The only thing I really don't understand is why did this anime decide to go this route when many others didn't. Don't get me wrong I'm 10x in favor of just waiting rather then getting a filler, padding/stalling, or whatever. Just seems to me like many other example Naruto, dbz/s, one piece and so on seem to enjoy milking it for decades and just add filler when things slow down too much. Is there official info on this? just curios since last time I looked I found next to nothing but speculation.
@@Zucr_ Well, the manga isn't ongoing, and it ended not too long after the previous season released. Seasonal anime had already become the norm by the time the first season of Magi was adapted, and there really wasn't a reason to make it ongoing like with Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc. Not many anime since then have taken the same approach, and would rather test the waters with 1 season, and continuing if it was a success.
Either way, the chances of a new series dropping is close to zero unless some rich mf decides to pay for it to happen
