Please please have Renee on so she can tell her story! She deserves to have a platform to share what she endured by not only LIB, but by her fiancé. They completely erased her story, but from the Out of the Pods podcast, it sounds like she had to keep going back and endured so much additional emotional turmoil for the sake of filming.
He's a smooth talker and seems pretty charming, but I found him quite duplicitous.Didn't he just contradict himself?! Anyone saying that credit/finances don't matter in a relationship are insane. A marriage certificate is the most binding contract an average person will sign in their lives. If you don't think financial literacy in a partner is important you should probably do some research on what happens when you sign that piece of paper. Also, he said his bad credit score was due to poor decisions at 18/19. Bad debt falls off your report after 7 years and he was 29 when he filmed the show, so the math ain't mathin'.
It takes 7 years for derogatory marks to be removed from your credit report (like late payments) but that doesn’t mean your score suddenly jumps up 100 points after that just because those marks are removed. It still takes time to build credit and you need a history of debt accounts that are paid off in a timely way over a period of time to make those changes. So the math is mathing my friend.
@nk47100 first, he didn't have to wait 7 years to start rebuilding. And even if he did, two years is plenty of time to get his score up and out of the 500s.

We don’t know what other expenses he was continuing to deal with using cash only. Plus you need a high enough score to even qualify for a credit card, auto loan, or any other kind of loan/debt. So maybe he wasn’t able to qualify - you’re also more likely to get rejected for credit card applications with negative marks still visible. And maybe his score was lower 7 years ago and it did go up over time. The point is - We don’t know. Let’s not judge.
He’s definitely lying. You can also easily get a credit card with a 580 score. Maybe your limit will be low but you’ll be able to get one. He also said on the show he had debt but now he’s saying he doesn’t. Thank God Stacy didn’t marry this guy.

Stacey is on the show was classist, narcissistic, cold and mean. The way she spoke to Johnie was out of pocket. Asking "whats wrong with your face", calling her a shxt person, saying everyone else thought she was terrible and shutting down anyone who stood up for Johnny eg Mar. He went into the bathroom to cry in private, but she made sure to leave the door open so the camera could get a glimpse of it. She judged Izzy for never having travelled. Promise YOURSELF that you will make every attempt to learn and grow and show up differently in the future. No, you cannot predict, determine, or control what situations and/or challenges you face in life, but you absolutely have complete control over how you show up in those situations. You have absolute control over your character, morals, and values. Kinda crazy that she doesn't see that.

Being busy is definitely an excuse but I don’t think she ever asked him his score and I would never think that is a prerequisite to get married. My husband and I dated for 6 years before getting married and we knew each other’s debts but not the exact number. His debt was $0 and that’s the most important factor. (btw, my score is 830 and husband’s is high 700’s so i’m a big proponent for good credit but it’s not a deal breaker for marriage).

There’s a constant underlying theme of her being jealous of other people, she doesn’t support or uplift other women, she’s an ageist, she fat shames, She’s constantly talking about her luxe and not being skinny enough as if it’s the most important thing in the world. I really disagree. Stacy was nitpicky at times (dishes, flowers, etc.) but credit and financial decision making is a huge part of marriage! She had limited time to determine if she felt secure in marrying Izzy and if he’s withholding truth about financials, I would also question if we were ready to make the biggest commitment of our lives. I think it wasn’t the fact that Izzy was a contractor that bothered Stacy. It wasn’t that it wasn’t “secure” it’s the fact that he just started this job for less than a week before joining the show so it was so new with no benefits.
He didn’t tell the truth about his finances. He said it didn’t matter. Finances make it break a relationship. He should have fixed that prior to tryna get married.

Ya it's bs. I know people with less money than me who have a better credit score. I chose to avoid credit for a long time so it impacted me but I still make pretty good money. I'm not RICH but I'm not broke either. Plus, credit scores are always changing and so, so temporary. Like he said, he owed 800 dollars total. That's way different than someone who owes, say, 800k in debt.

I remember watching the episode where Johnnie tells Izzy that he is her only person and broke up with Chris, I cringed and said out loud something along the lines of “uh oh, he’s gonna dump her now that he knows he has the upper hand and confirmed her interest in him.” I saw it coming miles away. His desperation for validation and how he manipulated Johnnie by implying that he needed more from her to prove her love for him and she did it by dumping Chris. That’s how I saw it and then I just knew he would dump her once he got what he wanted. The funny thing is, Stacy did the same exact thing to Izzy. She knew Johnnie was his number 1 and then once she saw that Izzy really fell for her, she dumped him. Izzy used Johnnie’s past relationships as an excuse to dump her and Stacy used the bad credit score to dump him. Karma 😂

This was a circle jerk over Stacy, you didn't hold him accountable at all....Stacy has said multiple times he avoided the finance conversations and that he's lied to her FACE. Of course it's convenient for him to leave out certain details in a convo, he's not dumb just manipulative and conniving.
A 1099 means no benefits and no reliable income. It can mean more pay, but often it doesn't. Some people like the predictability of a steady paycheck and benefits. Also, if you have stellar credit as I imagine Stacy does, it's going to hurt you if you marry someone with bad credit, and limit your purchasing ability as a couple. Better to get the credit up first or make the major purchases and then get married. I'm not a fan of Stacy, but everyone on the show was acting like there's no reason to be concerned about these things.
These days, salaried jobs are not necessarily reliable either. People get laid off all the time. Companies downsize, file for bankruptcy, etc. I never earned my worth until I started my own business which does involve receiving 1099s. I literally tripled my income when I was able to set my own terms. Contract based work is less consistent (eg you could get paid every few months vs every two weeks, though not necessarily) but that doesn’t mean less reliable.
I mean, if she comes from money and already has a house then why does she need to be concerned? She’s already financially secure and her father could co sign a loan on a new car or whatever if she needed that, but it doesn’t sound like she does. I could see being concerned if she was starting from nothing herself. But she is secure. So what’s more important, love or material objects? And sure, don’t get married but if you loved him and wanted to know him and make sure you felt you could grow together then why not date? She wanted a rich husband, so she could stop working and live a different lifestyle and just ride pelotons all day. Let’s be honest.

I've been self employed for 20 years and while my income isn't steady, I can't predict with certainty how much money I will have made at the end of the month, I do well, and I've had more reliable work than other people I know. I prefer it, but not everyone does. Some people like to have the guaranteed paycheck and benefits. But you're right, if you get laid off you could go months or longer without any income. But I think it also depends on where you are in your career. Izzy is at a new job with no track record in terms of self-employed income and a history of mismanaging money and bad credit. If I were Stacy I'd be little skeptical, too.

But she said in the show that she didn't want to rely on her father for money. She wants a man who can stand on his own. The red flag to me isn't the credit score, it's that he hid the score and in 10 or so years he doesn't seem to have done anything to try to improve his credit. That is what is concerning.

This whole interview bothered me. I could see what Stacey meant when she said she would ask Izzy a question and he would just ramble. Because that’s exactly what he did for this whole interview. Financial reasons is the number one reason why people get divorce. I’m glad Stacey was trying to get the bottom of things with Izzy about his finances. Stacey cannot control how she was raised and why are we bashing her because she wants someone who is financially stable like her and doesn’t have bad credit. For all those who say oh bad credit isn’t a big deal, it actually is to someone who has good credit and spent years building that. I know plenty of people who didn’t grow up privileged but also don’t have bad credit. Try buying a home and getting a mortgage with bad credit. Bad credit doesn’t “define” someone but to turn a blind eye to that and just get married anyway because you’re “in love” is stupid and eventually will end up in divorce anyway. Stacey is smart for not marrying him. Stacey isn’t a horrible human being at all but she wanted someone at her level and there’s nothing wrong with that. Izzy has far more red flags and issues than Stacey does imo. I truly believe Stacey cared a lot for him and maybe even loved him but unfortunately that’s not enough to get married to someone. You have to consider all factors when you get married to someone.. not just if you love them or have fun together. Your lifestyle, values, finances, if you want kids or not, all these things need to align before you should get married if you want it to actually last

Things like not having health insurance, having bad credit and having 100% commission job are scary when you are financially stable - it doesn’t make someone unlovable or morally wrong but it is a huge obligation marrying someone like struggling. It means reconsidering what kind of home you can have, savings etc.

She manipulated him one last time so that he wouldn't go into all these interviews bashing her.. telling us how he really felt after everything she put him thru. They have VERY different outlooks on life and money - the credit cards are just an example. Your comment exemplifies that your values on money align with Izzy and those that disagree align with Stacy. She was shocked that he doesn’t see bad credit as a big deal and something he should have told her sooner, she was concerned that he didn’t feel the need to tell her his job is 100% commission so there is a risk he can’t actually contribute to their joint finances or that if his health is compromised she would be responsible for covering his costs and so much more. People that don’t prioritise money and financially security should date others like that - it’s about risk tolerance. I’m commend Stacy for not gambling with her financial future.
Stacy doesn't even have money.. It's her dad's, and thays why she was so obsessed with marrying a man who will take care of her. People with extreme wealth don't usually have to worry about that. Without her dad, she would have nothing and yet still can't empathize with those who have little. Yeah it was based on when the interview aired. The first interview lined up with him still being engaged to Stacey on the show. This Interview is after the reunion airs. So he can talk about where things are in present time.
Nick is on something else! When Izzy brings up his mistakes, Nick replies with “we all make mistakes” but kept saying Stacy is mean and all.. Not wanting to marry someone because they don't have money or a bad credit score is a valid excuse!! Love won't pay the rent or pay the mortgage.. It's so fascinating how different people's perspectives can be. I viewed it as Izzy playing Stacy, and wanting to secure a partner so he had a home to move into by the end of the month and a strong financial future. Which is why he delayed the convo about finances till the wedding hoping she would be so in love that she wouldn't care. I think Stacy went out on a limb and dated someone that isn't her usual type and once the fun was over and reality of the situation with his finances, career confronted her she pulled out. If he had been more upfront and owned it plus had a plan I'm sure it could be manageable. But Izzy seems very in the moment. Izzy rambles without answering directly, misses critical information, lacks basic introspection and reflection skills. Up till that conversations she was under the impression he had no money issues, that he could contribute 50% towards their life (Izzy's own words)

I think Nick sees a little too much of himself in Izzy (I am not saying they are the same but I think he identifies with Izzy) and he is unable to be objective here. Izzy definitely downplayed his role in everything.

It can take time to get over someone you loved - he likely still loves her at some level. It takes time to let go of that sense of loyalty that builds when you think someone is your person. I think that’s a good thing - means he’s loyal.

Anyone saying that credit/finances don't matter in a relationship are insane. A marriage certificate is the most binding contract an average person will sign in their lives. If you don't think financial literacy in a partner is important you should probably do some research on what happens when you sign that piece of paper. Also, he said his bad credit score was due to poor decisions at 18/19. Bad debt falls off your report after 7 years and he was 29 when he filmed the show, so the math ain't mathin'.
It takes 7 years for derogatory marks to be removed from your credit report (like late payments) but that doesn’t mean your score suddenly jumps up 100 points after that just because those marks are removed. It still takes time to build credit and you need a history of debt accounts that are paid off in a timely way over a period of time to make those changes. So the math is mathing my friend.

We don’t know what other expenses he was continuing to deal with using cash only. Plus you need a high enough score to even qualify for a credit card, auto loan, or any other kind of loan/debt. So maybe he wasn’t able to qualify - you’re also more likely to get rejected for credit card applications with negative marks still visible. And maybe his score was lower 7 years ago and it did go up over time. The point is - We don’t know. Let’s not judge.

Being busy is definitely an excuse but I don’t think she ever asked him his score and I would never think that is a prerequisite to get married. My husband and I dated for 6 years before getting married and we knew each other’s debts but not the exact number. His debt was $0 and that’s the most important factor. (btw, my score is 830 and husband’s is high 700’s so i’m a big proponent for good credit but it’s not a deal breaker for marriage).

I think it wasn’t the fact that Izzy was a contractor that bothered Stacy. It wasn’t that it wasn’t “secure” it’s the fact that he just started this job for less than a week before joining the show so it was so new with no benefits.

I remember watching the episode where Johnnie tells Izzy that he is her only person and broke up with Chris, I cringed and said out loud something along the lines of “uh oh, he’s gonna dump her now that he knows he has the upper hand and confirmed her interest in him.” I saw it coming miles away. His desperation for validation and how he manipulated Johnnie by implying that he needed more from her to prove her love for him and she did it by dumping Chris. That’s how I saw it and then I just knew he would dump her once he got what he wanted. The funny thing is, Stacy did the same exact thing to Izzy. She knew Johnnie was his number 1 and then once she saw that Izzy really fell for her, she dumped him. Izzy used Johnnie’s past relationships as an excuse to dump her and Stacy used the bad credit score to dump him. Karma 😂

A 1099 means no benefits and no reliable income. It can mean more pay, but often it doesn't. Some people like the predictability of a steady paycheck and benefits.
Also, if you have stellar credit as I imagine Stacy does, it's going to hurt you if you marry someone with bad credit, and limit your purchasing ability as a couple. Better to get the credit up first or make the major purchases and then get married.
I'm not a fan of Stacy, but everyone on the show was acting like there's no reason to be concerned about these things.
These days, salaried jobs are not necessarily reliable either. People get laid off all the time. Companies downsize, file for bankruptcy, etc. I never earned my worth until I started my own business which does involve receiving 1099s. I literally tripled my income when I was able to set my own terms. Contract based work is less consistent (eg you could get paid every few months vs every two weeks, though not necessarily) but that doesn’t mean less reliable.
I mean, if she comes from money and already has a house then why does she need to be concerned? She’s already financially secure and her father could co sign a loan on a new car or whatever if she needed that, but it doesn’t sound like she does. I could see being concerned if she was starting from nothing herself. But she is secure. So what’s more important, love or material objects? And sure, don’t get married but if you loved him and wanted to know him and make sure you felt you could grow together then why not date? She wanted a rich husband, so she could stop working and live a different lifestyle and just ride pelotons all day. Let’s be honest.

I've been self employed for 20 years and while my income isn't steady, I can't predict with certainty how much money I will have made at the end of the month, I do well, and I've had more reliable work than other people I know. I prefer it, but not everyone does. Some people like to have the guaranteed paycheck and benefits. But you're right, if you get laid off you could go months or longer without any income.
But I think it also depends on where you are in your career. Izzy is at a new job with no track record in terms of self-employed income and a history of mismanaging money and bad credit. If I were Stacy I'd be little skeptical, too.
@@nk47100 I think it's a leap to say we know her motives, but that's true, too. Stacy is financially secure herself so for someone like her it's not a big deal. But she said in the show that she didn't want to rely on her father for money. She wants a man who can stand on his own. The red flag to me isn't the credit score, it's that he hid the score and in 10 or so years he doesn't seem to have done anything to try to improve his credit. That is what is concerning.

This whole interview bothered me. I could see what Stacey meant when she said she would ask Izzy a question and he would just ramble. Because that’s exactly what he did for this whole interview. I don’t think he ever fully answered any question. I can see where people say Nick was pushing but that’s because Izzy was literally not saying anything except that he’s a giving and loving partner. So annoyed with this. Was really hoping for more.

Financial reasons is the number one reason why people get divorce. I’m glad Stacey was trying to get the bottom of things with Izzy about his finances. Stacey cannot control how she was raised and why are we bashing her because she wants someone who is financially stable like her and doesn’t have bad credit. For all those who say oh bad credit isn’t a big deal, it actually is to someone who has good credit and spent years building that. I know plenty of people who didn’t grow up privileged but also don’t have bad credit. Try buying a home and getting a mortgage with bad credit. Bad credit doesn’t “define” someone but to turn a blind eye to that and just get married anyway because you’re “in love” is stupid and eventually will end up in divorce anyway. Stacey is smart for not marrying him. Stacey isn’t a horrible human being at all but she wanted someone at her level and there’s nothing wrong with that. Izzy has far more red flags and issues than Stacey does imo. I truly believe Stacey cared a lot for him and maybe even loved him but unfortunately that’s not enough to get married to someone. You have to consider all factors when you get married to someone.. not just if you love them or have fun together. Your lifestyle, values, finances, if you want kids or not, all these things need to align before you should get married if you want it to actually last

Okay listen there’s 2 sides yea Stacey is a total brat and an average yt woman with a rich pops and no struggle ( not neglecting the fact that she did work hard to get where she is but let’s keep it real here) but at the end of the day we’re talking MARRIAGE here. @@dmamaj50I don’t think he went to college and her issue is that he didn’t tell her and didn’t think his financial status was an issue. Things like not having health insurance, having bad credit and having 100% commission job are scary when you are financially stable - it doesn’t make someone unlovable or morally wrong but it is a huge obligation marrying someone like struggling. It means reconsidering what kind of home you can have, savings etc.

Stacy doesn't even have money.. It's her dad's, and thays why she was so obsessed with marrying a man who will take care of her. People with extreme wealth don't usually have to worry about that. Without her dad, she would have nothing and yet still can't empathize with those who have little. She didn't earn it yet literally acts like having a rich dad is an accomplishment she worked hard for, lol. It's pathetic and she probably will be single forever.

It's so fascinating how different people's perspectives can be. I viewed it as Izzy playing Stacy, and wanting to secure a partner so he had a home to move into by the end of the month and a strong financial future. Which is why he delayed the convo about finances till the wedding hoping she would be so in love that she wouldn't care.
I think Stacy went out on a limb and dated someone that isn't her usual type and once the fun was over and reality of the situation with his finances, career confronted her she pulled out. If he had been more upfront and owned it plus had a plan I'm sure it could be manageable. But Izzy seems very in the moment.

I certainly was not specifically attracted to men who had status with a capital S. In fact it kind of turned me off because I never wanted to feel indebted to or less equal than a guy. It can take time to get over someone you loved - he likely still loves her at some level. It takes time to let go of that sense of loyalty that builds when you think someone is your person. I think that’s a good thing - means he’s loyal.
