Racing Bicycles On A Go Kart Circuit Is SO GOOD!

- This race had everything in it and it was one of the most enjoyable, interesting, tactical races I've ever ridden. Maybe cycling has a future racing on Go Kart circuits like this!

Fantastic to see bike racing on Shenington kart circuit, l raced a kart there in the 70s as a schoolboy...my mum was the club secretary, my dad Jack was a top racer along with Nigel Mansell !!..My family also ran the cafe on the circuit...happy days! I took up cycle racing late at the age 25 in the early 80s, been my passion ever since. My parents are no longer with me, but it would be very nostalgic to go back, and race a bike there, full circle!!

Heh. The guy in pink who stacked it is my team mate. He was a cat4 at the beginning of the year.
In the 3/4 race he went down while solo off the front got back on and still lapped the field.
Strong engine maybe a little bit to learn about racing.
We’re all constantly learning! Clearly very strong, did well. no doubt he’ll finesse me soon!

This was Shennington go kart track, 5 miles outside Banbury and a fantastic new location for racing. We held races for juniors, men and women and have had some great feedback. Watch out for more next year.
